Myth of the Moon Goddess - The Aradia Chronicles, Books One, Two and Three Page 39

by Rane, April

Just as the sun set, Alyanna was given another drink of tea from one of the young maidens. No words were exchanged, but she knew she was to close and rest her eyes, so that by dark she could lay back and study the sky for the latter part of her test. Breathing very deep she looked forward to the internal light show that was usually a benefit of the tea. Closing her eyes, she went within.

Instead of the vivid shapes and colors she normally saw, a vision of an island appeared in her mind’s eye. Seeing a sensual and ravishingly beautiful woman, she realized it was she in the future, it gave her quite a shock. She was very tall, taller than any of the women in her clan, slender but shapely. For a moment, she worried that if she had no bulk, she would not make a good warrior priestess. But then feelings of being a woman washed over her young body and flooded her mind.

As she watched, a giant of a man appeared in the vision. It was obvious by their stance and weapons that she and he were going to battle with each other. Yet he was smiling. At that moment, the vision faded and she desperately tried to call it back. Alyanna had had many visions, but she could not shake the unusual feelings that had come with this one. It was not just a vision. She was there. She was a woman with a woman’s desires. Her heart knew this man. What she felt about him was contrary to all that she had heard of the treacherous evils of men. She wondered, why then would she do battle with him?

Night slid around her body, stealing the remnants of her jumbled thoughts. Reluctantly she forced herself to the task at hand. Lying back she opened her eyes, and began searching the sky for the horse and rider that was part of her test. Presently she fell asleep, and dreamed the horse and rider were in the constellation known as the Big Bear. It was said to have a tail, though everyone knew bears have no tails. In her mind she heard the name Mizare, for the horse, and Suha, for the rider.

When she awoke, she looked toward the constellation of the Bear. In the part known as the tail, right there in the middle, she spotted a small star off to the left that she had not seen before. It was so close to the bigger one, that most would easily overlook the double star. She had found the horse and rider, passing her test; she was sure of it! Going back to sleep with a huge smile, she reveled in the fact that tomorrow would be her day. There would be a festival in her honor. Strange, the other young girls could honor her, but they could not, nor did they want to be her friend.

A half smile was on her face as she awoke. Standing above her Nisca asked, “And the strange smile, it is for what purpose?”

Alyanna brushed the sleep from her eyes. “Mizare is the name of the horse and Suha is the rider… they are here.” And she drew on the ground the Bear and tail and pointed out which star had the rider.

“And so you are ready for your festival,” said Nisca with a huge grin.

“Oh yes, and for my special day I would like to go down by the river and be like one of the fishes. I will return when the performance is about to begin.”

“Come when you hear the horn,” Nisca said, trying to look stern, “You need to be dressed by the maidens for the sacred ritual.”

Alyanna stood up, a rare look of defiance upon her face. Producing a large leather pouch she said, “I have my fur skin from the big cat and my special robe. I will adorn my hair and oil myself. It will be more sacred that way. When the girls dress me, there is jealousy as we spoke of before.”

“Have you prayed to the Goddess Themis on this account,” asked Nisca? “After all, it is the custom to have the maidens dress….”

“I know,” Alyanna interrupted, “but not following through with custom will not interfere with my going to the temple. I will be the youngest warrior priestess ever crowned in The Temple of Themis, for I have seen that in a vision.”

“So be it then, who am I to argue with a vision,” said Nisca with a hardy chuckle.

When the horn sounded, Alyanna had just finished oiling her body. Her robe lay in readiness, as well as the skin of the big cat and the flowered wreath she had made for her hair. Quickly stepping into the robe, she put the cat skin over one of her shoulders and placed the flowers on her head, all the while singing the praises of Ma-Bellona and Themis, beloved goddesses worshiped by their clan.

“A-lee-an-na, A-lee-an-na, the women and children chanted her welcome as she was escorted to the dais, where a special chair awaited. During the performance she was enraptured, partly because of the herbs, but also because it depicted a friendly leader, always laughing with her clan and turning a blind eye when her friends stole from others in the group. The performance truly answered her questions of why it was so important that others saw her as a leader. For no one listened to the ineffective queen that was being portrayed in the play by Phadra, and the clan lost everything when it was invaded by a rival tribe. Alyanna also received a deeper understanding of how she could help and guide others more effectively when she was revered as an oracle and their queen.

Awakening in her bed, famished after sleeping for nearly three days, she gorged herself with helping after helping. Eating enough for a month, or at least her teachers teasingly told her so, as her ecstatic mother looked on with pride. It was obvious that Thea, never wanting to be a leader looked forward to the next few years as her daughter matured and continued to take over the reins. Thea would then be able to spend her time teaching and playing with the little ones of the clan. She missed that, other duties always seemed to get in the way.

After Nisca and the women of the council left their hut, Thea remarked to Alyanna the noticeable difference in her stance.

“Yes,” said Alyanna, “I have always been uncomfortable about the fact that I was taller than the other girls of my age. But today I had a vision of the future. I will not stop growing for quite some time it seems. And that is good, for apparently someday I will do battle with a bear.”

Perplexed her mother questioned, “A bear?”

Alyanna did not answer, her eyes glazed over as the same island, its peculiar setting, and the bear of a man that she had seen earlier appeared. The vision washed all thoughts of where she was, or who she was with from her mind.

Strange stirrings of being a woman charged her body with heat, and she instinctively touched her breast. Her nipples ached with a hunger she did not understand, as stimulating currents ran through her female parts. Feeling a yearning that was all too familiar, yet she had never felt it before today, she thought, at least not in this lifetime.

The Seven Color Ray or Sacred Ray system is not a new concept. I received an initiation into this belief system thirty years ago upon reading the works of Helena P. Blavatsky as well as Alice Bailey. These incredible women penned their books in the late 19th and early 20th century, being the first to bring the knowledge of the Color Rays to the West. Reading these books pushed me to delve deeper into the mysteries of the rays. After a series of profound meditations on this subject I found that I was able to tap into my own color ray information, which gave me a clearer understanding of the lessons that would help me evolve as an individual. Shortly after, one of my spirit guides began to channel the information for others.

The ancient occult belief of the seven rays has appeared in many esoteric philosophies as far back as the 6th century B.C. It has been part of the Western culture as Gnosticism and part of the Hindu belief system since the post-Vedic era. In Rome it was part of the Mithraic Mysteries and in the Catholic Church it can be seen in its texts and its iconic art-work as early as the Byzantine era. Some esoteric Christians speak of the Virgin Mary as the Goddess Theotokos, who filters the divine spirit of the Holy Ghost through her, which emanates the spectrum of light that we know of as the Sacred Rays.

I read somewhere that the Goddess Theotokos stands at the portal of time and from the center of her being pours forth Seven Sacred Rays, each ray a vibrational bridge to earthly worlds, and each bridge holds the lessons that allow you to grow spiritually. I wish I could share with you who wrote this sentiment, but I have since lost the knowledge of where it came from. But I do reme
mber clearly that at the end of this beautiful writing were the words-

“Know thy color and you shall know thyself.”

Below is just a partial listing of the lessons offered through the frequency of each color.

Key Words: Live Only in the Moment

Deep spiritual insight can be obtained from psychics and channels that have the ability to tune into the knowledge which is revealed by the Sacred Rays. Many times this information can clear up the mystery of why some things come easy and others are very challenging, or why specific abilities seem natural and others almost impossible to accomplish.

I find that Sacred Ray readings are best done in person, but on occasion can be accomplished over the phone. For information or to schedule an appointment, go to www.aprilrane.c
