Peter Stothard is the editor of the Times Literary Supplement. He was editor of the Times from 1992 to 2002 and writes on modern politics and ancient literature. His previous book, 30 Days: A Month at the Heart of Blair’s War, is a diary of his time observing the direction of the 2003 conflict in Iraq.
