Toni stood and walked over to the worktop where Cain had moved the bits and pieces from Daphne's operation. Using her coms-device camera, she used the software watching on the screen as it zoomed in close and took four photos. Putting her coms-device away Rahab said,

[Cain is correct! That last piece he removed from Daphne's brain, is not a piece of metal but a dual purpose micro chip. If you look at a photo it has four sets of tiny legs, allowing it to move from where it was placed avoiding detection. These type of devices can be programmed to carry out several tasks. Such as cause an aneurysm, be a location beacon, disrupt a person's brain waves or make a person seem to be in a coma.

[These tiny devices come from one place, and one place only. They are made for the government in their own lab and that is the EC research lab in Wales; the special protectorate guard and run the facility. They also had a similar facility in Scotland where five years ago they installed two of the first quantum servers. The EC government sold the facility to reduce the defence budget. SPQR purchased the site a year before Cain started to work for them. You need to let Cain know,] Rahab told Toni.

Toni waited for Cain to check Ursula’s bindings now she was awake. Once he finished, she messaged him and told him what Rahab told her, in regards to the photo. Carrying on she gave him the other information, about the facility were the device was made, and the site in Scotland which SPQR purchased. Cain looked calm, too calm so Toni gave him a big hug. As she held him in her arms she could tell his body was tense, like every muscle was under strain, ready to explode into action. The longer Toni cuddled Cain, the less tense his muscles were. She only relaxed when Cain wrapped his arms around her too.

^C^ Thank you so much, I needed that contact with you, your warmth, your smell, keeping me grounded. I wasn't here for a minute, it was like my body wanted to explode into action in all directions at the same time. ^

^T^ No worries my love. You’d do the same for me if I was in such a position. Think nothing, I love you and don’t like seeing you suffer. ^ Toni checked the gag on Ursula, who was acting like she was still out for the count. Cain and Daphne tidied up the kitchen, cleaning the few traces away each of them made. They wiped down every surface, removing finger prints and genetic material as they sprayed a CSI's worst chemical, anti-bac.

Toni carried the DSS down to the bottom of the steps, then swapped the vehicles back. Cain walked down after Daphne, checking on Ursula one last time.

{Pull out your Glock and pretend to shoot her. We know she is awake, her heart rate increases as you walk past her,} Enoch told Cain. Silently pulling out his Glock, removing its magazine and taking the bullet in the chamber out.

Walking back toward Ursula, Cain noticed the slight tensing of her muscles. Stopping behind her, he cocked the Glock placed the suppressor against her head and pulled the trigger; the hammer hit the gun's frame. Ursula jumped at the noise but was held secure in the chair. She screamed into the gag, her eyes now wide open. Moving around to stand before Ursula.

"I know you were working for Jason, while you were playing at being friends with Toni. I’ll give you a fair warning. If I ever see you again, it will be for the last time," Cain told her. "You don't deserve to live, but Toni would be upset with me if I took you out. She understandably has conflicted feelings about you, I don't. Remember, if I ever see you again you will not live long after. I'm giving you this bullet to remind you your life belongs to me. Nod your head if you understand," Cain waited until Ursula nodded then hit her over the head, hard.

Toni moved the vehicles back around while Cain was talking to Ursula. After she parked the MPV in its own garage she trashed the EI and ripped out several wires.

:Bitch won’t be driving this for a while, this vehicle will need a new EI and wiring loom.: Toni thought as she sat back in the driving seat. Leaving Ursula's MPV and closing the garage doors Toni was ready to go. Closing the front door to Ursula's apartment Toni sat in the driver's seat. Turning on their vehicle she knew the EI settings were still in the human driver mode. Daphne rode in the shotgun seat, Cain ended up on his own in the back. Tapping Toni on the shoulder, telling Toni to drive to the centre of London and wait for the traffic to pick up.

"This is so nice. Do you have any idea the last time I did this?" Daphne said. "I’ll tell you, it’s been a long time, even before I ended up incarcerated on those false charges. Come on I'm ready to go, let's move it."

  Mayhem And Havoc

Toni headed back into London she kept to the side roads, knowing the main roads had most of the monitoring equipment and speed enforcement system. She knew it was only the old ancient pre-EI period vehicles that ever broke the speed laws.

"OK, we will be on Jamaica Road in a minute, once I drive down Dockhead and breeze the junction. Then we will be under full system surveillance. Are you ready for the ride of your life Daphne?" Toni asked. She did not include Cain, she knew he was always ready for the ride of his life.

The vehicle tyres squealed as Toni floored the accelerator, their vehicle leapt across the junction. Cain laughed as the vehicle leapt from Dockhead across the oncoming traffic as Toni drove their vehicle against the flow of traffic, heading into London.

:Ah, finally Jamaica Road the main route on the South Bank, here we are, heading back into London. I can see Toni loves driving not being a passive rider like most people are, thanks to GoogleFace and the big four vehicle manufacturers,: thought Cain as he laughed.

"Don’t follow the road signs, head straight up Jamaica Road, use the bus lane. If they are tracing us, the disruption will add to more normal police on the roads," Cain shouted to Toni. The junction with Tanner Street slipped by on the vehicle’s left as they entered the bus lane. Heading against the traffic flow, being in the bus lane which was separated from the opposite traffic by a large concrete ridge set into the road surface.

The bus lane allowed them to bypass a police automated stop junction at the entrance to Tanner Street. Toni crossed Tower Bridge Road doing sixty-three miles an hour, running the red light. Toni knew as she crossed the two lanes of traffic the vehicles would screech to a halt. As their EI controllers were programmed to avoid hitting another vehicle. In this case their red light jumping and speeding vehicle.

"The police will have loads of dash cam footage of me running that red light. Want to bet with me, Cain? How many people received injuries as their vehicle EIs carried out emergency stops?" Toni said and laughed. Swerving around a parked bus on Queen Elizabeth Street, before driving down Tooley Street.

"What a ride! I love this Cain. You know how to show a girl a good time," Toni added. Daphne sat gripping the sides of her seat, her eyes large and focused on the road ahead. The sound of police sirens giving chase drew closer. Above the sounds of the police vehicles, Cain picked out the thumping sounds of a helicopters' rotor cutting through the air.

[I picked up a message from a helicopter pilot, not on the police coms net, but a private black ops band. The pilot said they were coming in hot,] Rahab said.

"Any ideas on how to stop them?" Daphne asked.

"Easy," replied Cain. Laughing as he watched Daphne’s eyebrows raise. "Toni stops and we get arrested," Daphne could not help the laugh which escaped her mouth.

"Not the police silly, the helicopters, I have an idea," Toni said. "Cain, can you take over driving, while I get the DSS ready. Carry on and drive up to London Bridge, stopping at the end of the road. But don’t drive onto the bridge, OK!" Toni asked.

Swapping seats in the vehicle was an exercise for a contortionist, not two. Toni asked Daphne to hold the wheel while she climbed backward over the rear of her seat. Cain waited until Toni’s behind was over the back of her seat. He rubbed his hand over her firm behind, stopping her from moving.

"Not fair, how can I think about using the DSS, after you got my hopes up," Toni laughed as she leaned into Cain's hand. Once Toni was over her seat, Cain went feet first between the seats, manoeuvring himself slipping into the driving seat. Places changed
Cain carried on driving down Tooley Street. Anybody watching would have noticed their vehicle slowed for a hundred yards, before lurching forward faster than previously.

With Cain driving, Toni pulled the DSS out from the rear of the vehicle. Under instructions from Rahab, Toni inspected the DSS more closely this time. She turned on the small EI controlled rocket launcher and changed the missile settings, from auto to manual.

"Turn coming up, what are you going to use the DSS for anyway?" Cain shouted. He turned from Duke Street Hill cutting across the traffic on the A3. Then going across Borough High Street as he headed toward London Bridge. Breaking hard Cain stopped twenty feet from the start of London Bridge as Toni previously asked; stopping outside a building called 2 London Bridge.

"Daphne, can you open the panoramic for me please?" Toni asked. Reaching her hand up, Daphne kept her finger on the open roof button. Standing up behind Daphne, Toni took the DSS from behind Cain, resting the launcher on her left shoulder. Fitting the DSS launcher's optical controller over her left eye, Toni was ready to play bash the mole.

:Rahab, could you access the vehicle's audio system and play at full volume the song with the line, I've paid my dues, time after time. I've done my sentence but committed no crime?: Toni asked.

[Music downloading from the music cloud... done, now playing,] said Rahab. With the music of Queen blaring from the vehicle's speakers, Toni spoke to Cain.

^T^ OK, Cain can you please drive slow, then stop in the middle of the bridge. ^ Cain could hear the heavy whirring thump of helicopters, closing on their position but the music of Queen gave it a run for their money.

:Those helicopters have most likely been following the Thames direct to the bridge. Pointless letting Toni know, she can hear as good as me. Bet these are most likely the same helicopters from earlier. Nice choice of music, I wonder if it was Rahab or Enoch,: Cain thought.

{It was all Toni, she asked Rahab to download the tune. She has a great taste in inspirational music which could be helpful when going into battle,} replied Enoch.

"Get ready to go once I fire, drive forward but stay on the bridge," Toni shouted. Cain was ready. He trusted Toni with his life, Daphne looked unsure though she was singing along to Queen.

"And bad mistakes - I've made a few," Taking hold of Daphne's hand, Cain smiled and nodded as the first helicopter came into sight flying down the Thames opposite the old Oxo building. Cain joined her in the next verse.

"I've had my share of sand kicked in my face, but I've come through," A second later two more helicopters followed it, the first one was now at Blackfriars Bridge. The two following helicopters flew past the Oxo building, then over Blackfriars Bridge gaining on the lead helicopter. As the two closed the gap they came closer to each other, rotor blades about touching as they gained on the lead helicopter.

Cain sat waiting, :I bet they are spinning up their chain guns, I know I would be. The typical armament for use on helicopters like theirs against a single target at close range. If they are military they wouldn’t want to waste a missile on a small vehicle like ours in case it missed, causing collateral damage.:

A flash of decoy flares from the lead helicopter began a sequence; the other two followed suit. The decoy flares cast eerie shadows across the buildings and the flowing waters of the river Thames, as they fired dozens of bright burning flares.

"Ready Cain, steady...," the first missile leapt like a greyhound from its trap as Toni touched the DSS's trigger. "GO," shouted Toni. Cain let out the clutch while flooring the accelerator. The vehicle’s electric motors powered the vehicle up to thirty then forty miles an hour. Checking the distance from Toni's requested stop, Cain slammed on the brakes while he pressed the handbrake button.

"Yeah!" Daphne let out a shout of pleasure, at least Cain thought it was pleasure as the vehicle slid sideways on two wheels, lifting a good foot in the air.

The lead helicopter could only pull to the left as the pilot had flown too close to the buildings on their right. Another set of decoy flares launched, one side flew down into the Thames, causing bright lights to jiggle under the water's surface like neon lures. While the opposite side's flares flew over the roof of the flats on Bankside, lighting them like it was midday.

The Thales StarStreak’s outer cover ejected milliseconds into its flight and separated from the head of the missile, exposing three internal missiles on the booster. Toni, not the DSS's EI, controlled them. Not a typical missile, controlled by the EI on the launcher, these three were controlled by Toni and Rahab.

Toni let one missile act like it was under EI control, it chased a flare over the flats on Bankside exploding in mid-air shrapnel rained down on the flats below. The other two missiles ignored the flares flying through their bright lures, hitting the lead helicopter. One missile hit the armoured cockpit, it blew a hole in the windscreen and killed the pilot and co-pilot as it exploded. The second missile detonated against the main rotor mast, severing the drive to the main rotor hub, allowing it to spin free. With pilot and co-pilot dead and the main rotor missing the helicopter fell like a stone.

As it spun down from the sky three men jumped from the small troop compartment. Their parachutes partially opening as the body of the helicopter crashed into the Millennium footbridge. Its missile payload exploded on contact, blowing a support pillar apart. Two of the men made controlled splashes in the Thames, the third hit and bounced from the footbridge, his parachute wrapped around the bridge's tension wires. With the pillar destroyed the Millennium Bridge twisted, all the controlled tension released. The wires shook the structure like a snake caught by a mongoose the third man was slammed into the Thames pulled under by the tension wires.

The pilot of the second helicopter pulled hard on his joystick trying to gain height, while the co-pilot released another set of decoy flares; looking out of the windscreen he screamed at the pilot, "Climb." Flying his helicopter high, up over the right bank of the Thames the pilot headed inland. Turning his head as an explosion light the sky, he watched the free flying hub spin his way, pulling the power controller he willed his helicopter to go faster, higher.

Flying free the rotor hub ripped into the second helicopter's troop compartment behind the pilot. Its blades ripping open the unarmoured body killing the four troops inside. As it continued to spin the hub smashed apart the gearbox and engine compartment. The combined damage from the impact severed the helicopter in two. The rear part tumbled like a sycamore seed, crashing through the roof of the Grange St Paul’s Hotel.

While the armoured cockpit section with its greater momentum flew in an arc, its apex above the Grange St Paul's Hotel. The downward trajectory put the pilot and navigator in line with St Paul’s Cathedral. The front of the armoured section clipped St Paul's Dome, which diverted the remaining part of the helicopter toward the ground. Still spinning the front of the helicopter crashed into a deserted Paternoster Square, it bounced twice and stopped against the twenty-three metre tall monument, weakening the base.

The pilot of the third helicopter pushed down on his joystick, aiming for the fleeing vehicle. Speeding toward them he fired the chain gun in a reflex action. The gun shot hundreds of rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition at the moving vehicle.

The pilot and co-pilot of the second helicopter crawled from the wreckage. Congratulating themselves on their survival, they stood getting their breaths back. The monument’s base weakened by the impact, finally gave way and crumbled. No longer able to hold up the weight of the Corinthian column it collapsed into the square, and onto the wreckage. Marble sections crushed the wreckage, electronics flashed, bullets exploded, setting off a chain reaction exploding the armed missiles. In the resulting explosions, fire and shrapnel were ripped from the wreckage, and instantly killed both the celebrating survivors before they could escape the carnage.

A line of bullet impacts on the road followed the vehicle as Cain drove across the bridge, missing by a wide margin. The pilot automatically adjusted their aim as the vehicle came to a ski
dding halt, near the end of the bridge. Centring his aiming receptacle on the front of the vehicle, then pressed auto fire.

Cain brought the vehicle's slide to a halt facing the oncoming attack helicopter, allowing Toni to reacquire the final helicopter, in under two seconds she had fired the second StarStreak toward its target.

{Cain, those helicopters are not from the military or EC's special protectorate. Somebody stole them earlier yesterday evening, from ECAF Wattisham Airfield. They are using a scrambled communications device rather than the military system. The lead pilot was talking to Jason well, until Toni’s missile killed him. These are all Assassins4Hire people, part of the same group who tried killing you in the game,} Enoch said as Cain stopped the vehicle.

A loud warning buzz sounded and lights flashed on the helicopter's control panel which made the co-pilot press the manual release button for defensive flares. While guessing which direction the incoming missiles flew, the pilot pushed his joystick forward, aiming to fly the helicopter between the Tate Modern and Rose Court. The chain gun was still unable to locate its target, only firing when it locked again. Its rattle of shell cases as they flew from the gun making a complimentary noise to the rotors.

The chain gun shot hundreds of rounds toward the now stationary vehicle. Seeing a person launch a shoulder fired missile toward him the pilot flinched. In the second following he noticed two of the StarStreak missiles chased a pair of decoy flares. He relaxed but missed seeing the third missile as it exploded against the tail rotor. Shrapnel ripped the rotor from its mounting, destabilising the helicopter.

Fighting the controls, the pilot struggled to bring the helicopter under any semblance of flight, as it bucked like a wild stallion beneath him. He lost the battle as the helicopter spun out of control and headed nose first toward the land, not the Thames. Pulling desperately on the joystick the pilot tried to roll the helicopter so he could crash land in the Thames.
