"Oh." All of Trisha's concerns released on that breath. "So, you'd be more like an Ambassador who works with our world leaders?"
"Yes. It's my understanding the Kaliszians will also be selecting someone to oversee their interests here."
"That makes sense. I know Jakob is anxious to return to his family."
"So, you would be agreeable to me accepting the position?" Ull returned to his original question.
"You haven't already?"
"I told the Emperor I needed to discuss it with you first as it also affects you."
Trisha couldn't believe how Ull had changed since they'd first met. Yes, he could still be arrogant and abrupt, but never with her and never concerning things that affected them both. And this definitely affected them both. Ull was born to be a Lord, but he'd given that up for her. Now, the Emperor was not only naming a new Lord, but he was also creating a new House. One that Ull was ideally suited for.
Ull wasn't sure what his Trisha was thinking as she stepped out of his arms and began walking away from him. While her tío had chosen to be involved in Earth politics, she hadn't. She'd been forced into it by him and the needs of his Empire. Because of that, this had to be her choice.
"I think that Lord Ull of Earth should take his Lady to bed so he can convince me." With that, she stripped off her shirt and threw it, hitting Ull directly in the face.
Slowly Ull reached up, pulling the shirt away. Growling, he crossed the room, had her up and over his shoulder and carrying her into their resting chamber before she could do anything more than laugh.
