Yours Truly (Billionaires and Brides #2) Page 14

When he walked out of the bathroom, Kat was standing a few feet down the hall. She had dropped her towel a bit, letting the top of her cleavage show. AJ practically drooled as he looked her over.

I can’t believe I’m dating this girl, he thought. She’s perfect.

“Come on, I’ll take you to the den,” he said. “It’s the one room you haven’t seen yet.”

They walked down the hall and past the living room. There were two steps that led down to a part of the house that had been built just a few feet lower than the rest. Inside the large room was a piece of the actual mountainside, its rocky surface fully exposed.

“Is this part of the hill outside?” Kat asked, with a surprised expression on her face once again.

“You like it?” AJ asked. “I thought it would be nice to have a little piece of nature in here, so I had the builders create it for me. I sort of wanted to have a ‘man-cave’ and what better way to create a cave than to have one of the walls part of the mountain?”

Kat gazed up and down the rock, then turned her attention to the massive fireplace that was located next to it. Kat dug her toes into the sheep skin rug underneath her feet as AJ spun around and flipped a switch near the doorway, causing a flame to flicker up into the fireplace. He walked up behind her. He dropped his towel and wrapped his arms around her waist, watching as the fire in front of them grew.

  “Is that better?” he asked.

Kat nodded. “It feels good. I still can’t believe this house. It’s like something out of a dream.”

AJ kissed the outside of her neck, gently moving his lips downward toward her shoulder. “There's one more thing I wanted to show you.”

She giggled. “I can't believe there's anything else.”

“I think you'll like this,” AJ said. He reached up on the top shelf of a nearby bookcase, carrying a bag down. “I wanted to bring it to you in the office, but you know how we feel about our competitors' products.”

Kat looked at him quizzically, having no idea what he was talking about. AJ reached into the bag and pulled out the one souvenir she had left him...

“My shoe!” she exclaimed. The silver Louboutin that she had left in his hotel room weeks ago was now here, finally returned to her.

She stretched out her arms in a 'gimme, gimme' pose. “Not yet,” AJ said. “I have to make sure the glass slipper fits.”

Kat smiled and extended her bare leg out toward him. AJ leaned down and planted a few soft kisses on her foot, then slipped the shoe onto her foot. He strapped it, then looked it up and down.

  A perfect fit.

Kat was practically beaming at him. “Thank you, Prince Charming, for returning my shoe.” She looked a little more devilish. “Now, please take it off.”

AJ laughed and quickly undid the shoe, then carefully placed it in the bag. He leaned down to where she was laying and kissed her. He pulled her towel aside and they resumed what they had started in the swimming pool, only this time it was in front of a beautiful warm fire. Their tongues flicked in the same fashion as the fire next to them, gently lashing out and then retreating, a sensual game that AJ enjoyed with Kat just as much as he did the sex.

Their hands moved up and down each other’s bodies as AJ pulled her close. His length was between her thighs and the top of it grazed her sensitive area. Her moist heat covered him and he craved to be inside of her. After a few more seconds of kissing, he pulled away and looked into her eyes. The shadows from the firelight played a puppet show on her face and gave her skin an orange glow. He reached up and pushed her hair back over her ear, before giving her another peck on the lips.

I think I really do love this girl, he thought.

With the fire raging, Kat and AJ laid down onto the sheep skin rug. They laid on their sides, with Kat’s back toward the warmth of the fire. AJ noticed that her hand was on her stomach once again, just like when he had first asked her if she wanted to go for a swim.

“You sure you’re okay?” he asked.

She smiled shyly and responded, “Yeah, I’m fine. Why, what’s up?”

He decided not to pry and instead just leaned in for another kiss. His hand immediately went to her side and then drifted up to her breasts, where he gently fondled them. Kat let out a soft moan and a surge of excitement filled AJ. Every time he became intimate with her felt like the very first time and he was positive that it would never ever get old, not even if they made love every day for an entire lifetime.

After a moment of kissing, AJ gently crawled over her. Kat parted her legs and wrapped them around his lower back.

  “Go slow, okay?” she asked.

Kat was clearly not at 100% and AJ wondered if she still wasn’t feeling well from that flu or whatever she had had the previous week.

“We don’t have to do this,” he responded. “We can just relax.”

Kat bit her bottom lip and shook her head, playfully slapping his shoulder. “Are you joking? I want this so bad right now. I just want to enjoy it. There’s no hurry.”

AJ placed his hands above her shoulders and lifted himself up. “I’m going to get a condom. I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere.”

Kat grabbed his forearms and stopped him.

“It’s okay. It’s not necessary,” she replied.

AJ parted his lips to respond but before he could, Kat slowly pulled him into her using her legs. Again, he figured that she must be on the pill and he appreciated her trust. His tip slipped inside of her and he drew in a quick breath as he followed her lead, pressing his length all the way in. Her warmth surrounded him and a burst of ecstasy filled his body.

They kissed again, this time their bodies moving rhythmically. It was like a dance, slow and intimate. They were in tune with each other, their movements steady and sweet. It felt like love-making, not just sex. It was beautiful and better than AJ had imagined it could be.

“Oh, my God,” he mouthed, the words quieter than a whisper.

AJ lifted himself over her and increased his pace just a little bit. Kat gazed at him with those eyes of hers that made his heart do backflips in his chest and then she smiled approvingly. He loved pleasing her. In fact, he found himself enjoying her pleasure more than his own.

  “Is that good?” he asked.

  “It’s perfect,” she whispered.

He kept his slow pace, easing into her. Each time, Kat’s lower lip dropped a tiny bit further and her back arched a little more. AJ leaned forward and brought his mouth to her breasts, pleasuring them with his tongue as he continued his movements. Kat’s hands instantly moved to the back of his head, gripping his hair and pulling his face firmly toward her chest.

“That feels so good,” she managed to say, though her words waivered at the end. “Just like this.”

The heat from the fireplace surrounded them. All of the moisture from the swimming pool was gone and was quickly replaced with a light layer of sweat. Their skin was slick as their hands moved over each other. It was like they couldn’t get close enough. They both wanted more of the other.

It wasn’t long before AJ felt Kat tighten over his length. She let out a guttural moan and then gasped, her body trembling beneath him as she came. She opened her eyes and gazed up at him, panting in an attempt to catch her breath.

“How do you do that to me every time?” she asked.

AJ slowed his pace down to a stop, and Kat placed her hands onto his shoulders.

“Lay on your back,” she whispered.

He wasn’t about to disobey an order like that. So he did as she asked. The furry rug surrounded him. He sunk into it, enjoying the way that it felt around his body. Kat immediately crawled over him, straddling his lap. Then she dropped her weight, letting him slide back inside. Instantly the pleasure was back, only this time, the view was even better. Kat’s long brown hair fell over her shoulders and her breasts swayed with her movements. Her perfect skin shone in the fire light, accentuating all of the details that he loved: the lines of her hips, the little crea
se at the top of her thighs, and the way her stomach flexed with her breathing. These were just a few of the little things about Kat that he adored.

Kat went slow, just like AJ had. She placed his hands onto his chest to hold herself up and then increased pace, but only a bit. It was enough to cause the pleasure to increase ten-fold though, and AJ knew he wouldn’t be able to hold back much longer.

“You’re going to make me come,” he whispered.

A smirk of approval flashed across Kat’s face. She didn’t stop or slow down. She continued moving in the same way, knowing that it was exactly what AJ needed to climax. His hands went straight to the top of her thighs, squeezing them gently as he lifted his hips upward.

“Yes,” he grunted. “Just like that.”

Their bodies continued to collide until the pleasure pulsated through AJ, the intensity hitting him in increasing waves. There was no way he could hold back any longer.

“I’m coming.” The words hardly even got past his lips, though. The sensation filling his body was too intense. Kat stayed on top of him as a final wave of pure ecstasy filled AJ from head to toe. He let out an animal-sounding grunt before holding his breath. His shaft swelled inside of her as he released, letting out all of the sexual tension of the evening in one glorious, pleasure-filled moment.

His hands moved up and down her thighs as he rode the wave of sensation, letting it carry him. As it slowly passed, his eyes opened to see Kat looking down at him with that smile of hers that he had grown to love. There were no words he could say that could describe how he felt about her in that moment, so he simply sat up and kissed her. Never in his life had he felt more complete.

They kissed for a while longer, breathing hard. When they finally caught their breath, AJ said, “I think this is now officially my favorite room.”

Kat chuckled and shrugged. “Really? I’d still take the pool. I mean that view and the hot tub are pretty hard to beat. No offense.”

“Ha. Ha. Very funny,” AJ joked back.

The two shared a laugh and then Kat laid down next to AJ, pressing her back against him to spoon. He wrapped an arm around her, holding her close. She was asleep within a few minutes. He listened to her easy rhythmic breathing as he watched the flames flicker a few feet away from them.

No matter what happens in my life or with my business or money or friends or anything else, for this moment, this moment right now, everything is perfect, he thought, before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

  Kat

Kat blinked against the early morning sun. Traffic was light as AJ maneuvered his black sports car through the quiet streets leading up to her apartment. Neither one spoke; they sat in amicable silence. Kat didn’t feel the need to speak. She was comfortable enough with AJ that they could have silence without it being overwhelming.

“Thank you for driving me home,” she said as her apartment complex came into view. She loved that AJ had decided to drive her home himself, rather than just have a driver take her. They didn’t get as much time together as she would have liked, so even just the few minutes in the car were precious to her.

“It was my pleasure,” he assured her. “If I didn’t have meetings today, I would have insisted that we just stay in bed for the day.”

Kat frowned. It was the weekend, yet he still had meetings. Meetings he couldn’t cancel because it would raise suspicions, not to mention that he needed to salvage the company from his partner’s mistakes.

“I would have liked that,” Kat told him as the car slowed to a stop in front of her building. The streets were deserted and the tinted windows dark enough that she felt she could risk leaning over and giving him a quick peck on the cheek.

She wished she could give him a real kiss, but again, there was probably someone watching. For the millionth time that morning, she thought about telling him about the pregnancy. She knew she would have to eventually. Granted, she probably had a couple of months, but she didn’t want to keep this a secret. Not from him. She didn’t want there to be secrets between the two of them.

“I should get going,” he said gently. “I’m going to be late.”

“AJ?” Kat bit her lip, trying to summon up the courage to say the words.

“Yes?” He smiled at her, but she could see the tension in his jaw starting to increase. Today wasn’t a good day. She needed to do this right.

“Good luck with the meetings.” She bailed on telling him. She couldn’t do it. Not like this.

“Thank you,” he replied with a smile. “I’ll see you later, okay?”

She nodded and quickly opened her car door before she could change her mind and try again. She didn’t look back until she reached the stairs up to her apartment, but by then all she caught was the flash of his tail-lights as he drove away.

It was a good thing that he was gone, because her stomach was revolting again. The bright sunlight and walking had made her body realize it was awake, and thus it needed to throw up.

She barely made it to the bathroom before losing her breakfast.

“Stupid morning sickness,” she gasped after a moment. Last night had been a fluke. A single night where her stomach had let her relax. She had even hoped that the lack of nausea might continue, that she was over it.

As another wave of unpleasantness washed over her, she decided that her body had simply saved up the nausea from last night for now. For now, morning sickness was truly living up to its name. She hoped she could make it until her doctor’s appointment at the end of the week, but at this moment, she wasn’t sure she could.

She groaned as her stomach made an unsettling noise. Her doctor didn’t even want to see her until she was eight weeks, but if she didn’t get something to help combat this nausea, she wasn’t sure if she’d make it that long.

If she told AJ, she’d have an OBGYN at her house in five minutes. Probably the best in the entire state. It was tempting to tell him just for that reason alone, but she still felt reluctant to do so.

He was so stressed. She could see it written all over his body. His beautiful broad shoulders would creep up around his ears whenever he spoke about work and he’d get a slight gray pallor to his skin. Just mentioning the word work to him created a tightness in his eyes that broke her heart. It was easy to see how much of himself he had invested in his company and how much it was killing him to watch it fall apart.

She wanted to tell him about the pregnancy, yet at the same time knew it would only add to his level of stress. Impregnating an employee while his partner was going to court for sexual improprieties toward employees was exactly the kind of thing he didn’t need in his life.

Besides, Kat was still having trouble accepting the fact that she was pregnant herself. She’d picked up two more tests, each more expensive than the last just to make sure, and both had come back positive. It still felt strange to think of herself as a pregnant, let alone a mother.

Kat wiped her hand across her mouth and tried to think of what to do next. She’d already purchased several “What to Expect” type of books to help her with the pregnancy, but it was the people aspect that she was unsure of.

Her mother would be thrilled. She had been pestering Kat for years that she wanted grandchildren, and Kat knew that her mom didn’t care how she got them. Dad would follow Mom and would probably even slip her a little money to help out with expenses. Her younger sister would volunteer to babysit whenever she was in town, and she knew that her neighbor across the hall would always be up for babysitting.

She wasn’t worried about telling her family. She was worried about telling AJ.

They’d only known each other for a few weeks. He hadn’t even met her parents yet, and she still couldn’t keep straight which of his two younger brothers was which. She didn’t even know what his parents did for a living or even what state they lived in.

His wealth just complicated things further. She wasn’t a gold-digger and the last thing she wanted was to be thought of as one. She also wa
nted her kid to have a father, not an ATM. She could see AJ being a great dad, but she could also see how it might be easier just to pay her and the kid off with money.

Kat stood up from the toilet and stumbled toward the kitchen. Maybe some antacids or ginger ale would help settle her stomach. If nothing else, it might distract her from thinking. Thinking about AJ leaving them and just sending money was not helping her current mood in the slightest.

She didn’t think he would do that, but... she barely knew him. She was definitely falling for him. She loved the way he smiled and she wanted to be with him all the time, but that didn’t mean that he wanted the same. It didn’t mean that he wanted kids or that he would react positively to the news he was now a dad.

The last Gatorade AJ had bought her was sitting on the kitchen counter. Kat reached for it, her hand pausing slightly before grasping it as she remembered how he had taken care of her.

He brought her soup and Gatorade when she was sick. He made sure to always walk on the street side of the sidewalk. He opened doors and was kind to his employees. He was respectful to everyone, even those who most would consider beneath him.

Kat sipped on the Gatorade. He was a good man.

  He deserved to know.

And she was going to tell him the next chance she got.

  Kat

Monday morning rolled around again, and just like last week, Kat wanted to punch it in the face. Mondays were pure evil.

She sat at her desk, nauseous as hell and wishing she could just go home. Ginger ale was sort of helping, so she was basically main-lining the golden liquid. She needed to tell her stockbroker to buy stock in the ginger ale company, because if she kept drinking it at this rate, the company was set to make a lot of money off her.

She set her cup down and tried to quiet her mind and her stomach. She was hoping to see AJ sometime today. Her mind was made up to tell him about the pregnancy. She was so nervous about it that she wasn’t sure it was just morning sickness that was making her stomach queasy.
