As his lips brushed over hers, his calming presence seeped deep into her consciousness, and Shae knew that staying with him was not only the right choice, but the only choice for her. A soft, feminine moan echoed down from upstairs. Nathan watched his two closest friends turn toward the bedroom with lust in their eyes.
“No,” he said.
“Come on, just a little poke.”
“If you fucking touch her Shade, I’ll bite your balls off.”
“Harsh.” Shade glanced at Jag.
“At least you won’t have blue balls anymore,” Jag joked.
“Nathan. . .” Shae’s voice sounded low and needy. Nathan’s cock swelled in response.
“Where are the others?” Nathan asked in an effort to change the subject.
“Knox and Rocco are tracking the human. Wren is tracking the bear. Garrick and Lance are guarding outside.”
“We didn’t want the rest of the bears in the area disturbing you,” Jag said.
“That was very thoughtful of you,” Nate murmured.
“She needs to shift or be marked, boss,” Shade said. “While Jag and I have self-control, others in the area do not.”
“You’re referring to Knox,” Nate said.
Jag shrugged. “When we first started scenting your female, we gave him a job far away from your cabin, but the job won’t last forever.”
“Eventually he’ll come back,” Shade agreed.
“I won’t mark her until she’s ready.”
“Then she must undergo the change as soon as possible. You must direct her energy through sex so she’ll be able to shift and protect herself.”
“Don’t you think I’ve been trying that?” Nathan let out a long breath. “Her power is much stronger than a typical youngling, probably because of her age. I’m not enough.”
Shade and Jag glanced at each other. “We could help. . .” Shade offered.
“No.”
“But—”
“I said no!” Nathan bit back another growl in his throat.
“Hear us out,” Jag said. “We won’t touch the girl, but having us there, pleasing ourselves while you please her . . . it will enhance the energy in the room.”
“We can help you direct it. Working together, it might be enough for her to shift.” Shade adjusted himself. “At the very least, it will give me some relief.”
Nathan worked his jaw for a moment as he mulled over the words. The men made sense. Perhaps with his friends there, enough energy will be created for her to tap into her instincts and allow for the transformation.
“It’s worth a shot.” He motioned to the stairs as Shae whimpered once more. “Come on.”
