Christmas was a time for love and Natasha and Jake were learning to fight for each other.
Epilogue
“Do you remember the last time we were here alone?” Natasha asked her husband.
“You mean the time you thought I was cheating?” Jake teased as she slapped him.
“It’s been almost twenty-five years, my darling.” Jake kissed his wife. Natasha looked up into her husband’s face. He was older now. Wrinkles were showing the years as they did with her. His dark hair was tinged with grey. They had loved and grown old together.
“So much has happened in twenty-five years.” She gazed around the cabin. It was older like them but still had lots of years left.
The last twenty-five years had seen them adopt and raise four children from infants into adulthood. They loved their children and their children adored them in return.
It was strange to think if they hadn’t come to this cabin all those years ago, they might have gone their separate ways and their children would've had an entirely different life. Natasha sighed out loud.
“What’s the matter?” Jake asked.
Natasha smiled. He was always concerned for her, always looking out for her.
“You’ll be fifty-six next year.” It seemed strange to even consider their ages.
“And you'll be fifty-four. Will you still love me?” His arms circled her waist as he kissed her neck.
“I'll never stop loving you,” she admitted.
“And I'll never stop loving you.”
He leaned down and kissed her on the lips. This was the first time they’d gotten away alone together for Christmas in years. The kids all had families of their own. This was their time.
“I’m still your caveman,” he growled into her ear. Natasha laughed.
“Can you still lift me?” she teased him.
“I’ve been doing it for the last thirty years.” He stooped as he picked her up in his arms. “I imagine I’ll be doing it for the next thirty years as well.”
“Do you promise?” her arms circled his neck, trusting him.
“If you put on loads of weight I imagine it'll be touch and go—” Natasha slapped him with a glare. Her ass may be a little plumper these days but Jake still got hard whenever he grabbed it or cupped her breasts. And when Natasha looked at Jake, she still saw the hot twenty-something outdoorsman she fell in love with. It didn’t hurt that his biceps, quads and chest were still strong, hard and tight.
He chuckled.
“I'll always love you no matter what,” Jake promised.
She nodded, leaning down to kiss him. The years melted away when they were together. They were in love and that was how it would be. Forever.
The End
