Hunters of the Gods 4_Belonging to a Pack Page 8

“Why don’t you take a break for lunch? We’ll take over here,” one of the women said to her.

She nodded, feeling kind of mentally and emotionally drained hearing these stories, and wondering how things had gone so wrong and why nothing was being done.

When she entered the back room, a woman was there placing food down onto the table and pouring a glass of iced tea. She bowed her head. “For you, miss, specially prepared,” she said, and Avi thanked her and then sat down. That women left her alone, and in her head she thought about her mates, about finding them, being happy with them and not being forced into the things she could have been forced into if she hadn’t begun to fight and to listen to the messages from the gods. There had to be a way to stop Shay pack from continuing this barbaric practice. She thought about it and texted Alexandra. She let her know about the woman she met as she picked at her lunch and chewed between texting. She also told her about what she said with Avi’s blood being both Shay and Merker, and how they were searching for women like her. They talked about getting together in about an hour to go over some information and perhaps getting it to the Circle to allow a deeper investigation. She drank the ice tea, ate a little more, when suddenly she started to feel a little funny.

“Avi?” She heard Viper’s voice. “I don’t feel right,” she said in their mind link.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” Bider asked.

“I’m on my way,” Scor said.

Avi tried to get up from the chair, and she lost her balance and began to fall.

“Let me help you, miss,” one of the Omegas, a helper today, had asked. She saw her several times before, and even at the house. What was her name? Mercy? Mergy? Margy?

“Mercy, the Omega, from the house the—”

Instead of bringing her out of the room, she brought her into the hallway and through a secret door. The tunnel was dark, and she could hardly tell where they were going, even though her wolf eyes should have picked up everything clearly. Whatever was in the food affected her.

“Hurry up,” she said to Avi.

Avi pulled back. “No, Mercy. NO, why are you doing this? Where are you taking me?”

“What secret room? We’re almost there, Avi? Avi tell us where you are?” Viper demanded, and she told them in her head just as the dizziness grew stronger, and then flooring dipped lower and she went to the right, shoved open a door, and then two men pulled her into the back of a van.

“A van, black, two wolves. Rogue.”

She should be passed out by now,” one wolf said. “Give her more.

“She can’t be conscious, she’ll resist them. Fuck,” the other one said, and she felt the prick to her shoulder, and then darkness overtook her vision.

“Where is she?” Viper yelled as he held Mercy by her throat up against the wall outside the cave to the back parking area.

“They will kill the babies,” she squeaked out.

“Put her down, Viper. She’ll cooperate,” Lodge stated, and Viper let her down slowly. Bider and Scor stared at her. “Talk now, or die,” he commanded.

“They will kill the babies. All of them. They came to us and threatened to kill the children. They’re all being held in a building in town. If we didn’t help, then the babies would be killed,” she said as she cried and begged for forgiveness, and for them to save the babies.

“Who took them and where were they taking Avi?” Bider demanded.

“Shay Alphas wanted her. She has the mixed bloodline of Merker and Shay. It’s rare, and she had been a part of their pack before her parents left. They can mate her, and she can give them children.”

“What?” Scor yelled out, and the woman cried and lay on the ground.

“Prepare two teams. One to rescue the children being held hostage, and a larger one to infiltrate Shay territory. My fathers will contact the Circle of Elders to confirm our right to attack,” Lodge stated.

“I don’t need confirmation. They took my mate, and now they will die,” Viper said to them.

“We will assist you in the attack on Shay. We heard from Alusia just now, she intercepted two men talking about this attack and taking Avi. She swears that one of the men was a sorcerer, Vipis, and one a wolf named Corpius who lives on Knoll pack territory down south,” Law told them.

“Knoll pack? Don’t know them,” Lodge replied.

“Well, we’re looking into them right now, and they discussed Avi and abducting her. They knew the plan, and that it would be important for the cause, whatever that is,” Temerec added.

“Find out what you can on the pack, we have a team going in to save the children, and we are waiting on the okay from Circle of Elders to approve the attack on Shay. Wait, it’s my father, Jordan.

“Yes,” he said into the phone.

“Lodge, the Circle will not approve an all-out attack on the estate. They feel that too much bloodshed has been going on. Calls are being made. Sit tight, and make sure that Viper and them don’t go in there without approval. It won’t end well.”

“They have their mate, Father. Avi has been taken against her will. What is the holdup by the Elders?” he demanded to know.

“Negotiations. They gave them an hour to respond.”

“In an hour they could transport her elsewhere,” Lodge replied.

“There’s no law against us surrounding the estate and preparing to attack. We wait for the okay, but on the perimeter,” Viper said.

“Agreed,” Lodge stated, and so did his father.

Rule, Temerec, and Law accompanied other men to the building where the children were being held hostage. Loki and a few others were there, too, and upon breaking into the building and rescuing the children, they came across several rogue wolves and a few wolves from Shay pack that were awfully cocky. The sight of the poor children crying for their mothers, and all crammed into cages tore at their hearts. What type of monsters did this to their people, their pack members, and fellow wolves?” Rule wondered. They had taken out some of their frustration and anger on a few rogues, and loved that they had resisted as they ended their lives.

Rule thought about Alusia and the danger she was in. That she had some sort of magical powers, and that she was a wolf and their mate. When would she return? Why was she so determined to kill Delia, and had she been successful? Probably not, or she would have informed them. They focused on the job at hand, but seeing these types of situations so often now, had them all seeing red.

“Where did they take Avi?” Loki demanded to know as she held one of the wolves by his throat.

“The estate,” he said, and chuckled.

Law walked over to the children as Loki and his brothers questioned the rogue. He saw one of the children watching him, huddled against the corner of the cage still, asking for her mother.

“Sweetie, you’re okay now. We aren’t going to hurt you. We arranged for your mom to get here. We’re Alphas of Saint pack,” he told her.

“You friends with Avi?” she asked and let go of the bar.

“We sure are, and we’re good friends with her mates. They’re so upset, and all they want to do is to find her and stop the bad wolves that took her.”

She stepped closer and looked around her.

“They took her to an estate.”

  “Shay pack territory?”

“She shook her head. “The men were talking and they said that they needed to hold all of us for several hours, that it would give the other men time to get Avi to the estate in the woods. They were preparing to fight you on their land, but Avi isn’t there.”

He licked his lower lip and turned to look at his brothers and Loki who then struck the guy and asked where the estate in the woods was.

  “Thank you, sweetie.”

She placed her hand on his arm and then paused before moving away. “An hour from here. Highway thirty, they took exit four.” He gave her a wink.

“You are going to make q
uite the hunter one day, little one,” she smiled wide, and just then the mothers started filtering in and the little girl went running to her mother and hugged her tight.

“An hour away, highway thirty and exit 4. We’ll sniff them out from there. Call Viper and the men. It was a trap, a set up to kill as many of our men as possible,” Law stated.

“And while we all fought, Collink and Mosek will force Avi to be their mate and bear their child. Let’s hurry up,” Loki said, and they headed out.

  * * * *

“What do you have?” Alexandra asked Luna.

“Right now, it appears that my uncle provided some assistance in bringing some of these women and children into Shay territory. He met with Case and Gate Shay several weeks ago. I think this was going on before my abduction. In fact, I think Costaldo was working with not only the Shay Alphas, but other packs including Voltek and Polta.”

  “How do you know that?”

“I have some of my people, friends of the families, doing some investigating of their own. They say that something is brewing, that this powerful wolf is planning a takeover, and to be lead Alpha of all the packs, like a king.”

“What? That’s insane. The Circle would never allow that, and if that were the case, then they would put a stop to it,” Alexandra said to Luna.

“Then why haven’t they, unless someone in the Circle is all for this? Or helping to hide the things going on. I’m going to have them look deeper. There was word that an Alpha was killed, and his mate was forced to mate with the new Alpha. I know that’s been done before but what if this Alpha is the same one trying to do a complete takeover, and maybe gain more soldiers by destroying the weaker packs? What about this Knoll pack? What did Loki find out about them?”

“Nothing, because of all the chaos lately and now this situation with Avi’s abduction.”

“Well that’s another thing, why is the Circle not allowing the attack on the pack? Who is in there feeding them crap to make us back off? Seems to me that some illegal activities are going on in the Circle.”

“Well, that will be hard to prove, however coming up with enough concrete evidence where the Circle can’t deny our requests is another thing. Let’s wolf on this theory that a certain wolf wants to claim leadership of all weres like a king.”

“Then get more information on that Corpius guy and whoever is the new Alpha of Knolls pack. That is bound to give us something,” Alexandra said, and then got off the phone with Luna.

Alex looked out across the property and tapped her phone to her lower lip. What if the one responsible for all this crap was living right under their noses, or not too far from here? What if the plan was to destroy all the surrounding packs, weakening their defenses, and then coming after Keuric pack and Saint pack to achieve their objective? If they forced matings on the women of other packs and then made them become part of the pack Alpha who wants to be king, then in numbers alone we would all be defeated. Perhaps Avi was right, and Luna too in securing Merker pack and Shay pack, and allowing them to become part of Saint and Keuric pack. It would make us even stronger, but it would also make us vulnerable to spies. Look at who helped in abducting Avi today.

She thought about her powers, and about the powers of the other women. The idea that a war was coming seemed so far-fetched. They were all so used to their lives, their packs and living each day without fears or uncertainty. Those rose-colored glasses just turned a shade darker. The evil that was surrounding them would only get worse. They would need to pull their resources, and those with powers like her, would need to zone in on them and sharpen their craft. She thought of her conversation with Avi and what she showed her. She could do that for the others. Help them to dig deeper and to know all aspects and capabilities of their powers. She hoped that Avi knew enough about hers to use them if she needed to. She prayed to the gods for her safe return, and also for some clues as to who this king Alpha was, and how they could stop him.

Avi couldn’t focus fully on where she was, but felt the bindings on her wrists. She was in a bedroom, tied to a bed, and only wearing her panties and bra. She heard the soft music and then smelled the familiar scent of Shay. At first, she thought it could be Case and Gate, the fathers of Collink and Mosek, but then they were coming closer and smiling wide.

“Finally, you’re awake. It was no fun playing with you while you were unconscious,” Mosek said, and ran his palm along her belly.

She kicked at him and tried moving. “Don’t touch me.”

  Collink chuckled.

“She resists too much, we can shoot her up as much as we want.”

“No, it won’t be good for the cub.”

“Cub? What are you two even talking about? Release me now,” she demanded.

“Avi, you can hear us? We aren’t far.”

“Yes, I can. They have me tied to a bed. They’re talking about drugging me and about a cub.”

“They plan on forcing you to mate with them and bear their children.”

“No way!” She yelled out and pulled on the bindings, tried calling to her wolf and couldn’t.

“I can’t call to my wolf. I can’t shift. Something is wrong.” She said to them.

“The poison. Alusia said there was a sorcerer. Just hold tight we are almost there. The perimeter is surrounded,” Viper commanded.

Collink pulled off his shirt and got up between her legs. She tried moving and couldn’t as he grabbed her hips and then yanked her body against his thighs and crotch. “You never should have left the pack. Your mother always thought she was so damn perfect. Like we didn’t know her secret.”

  “Secret? What secret?” she asked.

“You mean you still don’t know who your mother really was?” Mosek asked.

Collink chuckled. “Damn, she doesn’t. Hmm, well, we might as well tell you because if all goes well, the cubs you bear us will also have some Fae and pixie blood in them and vampire, too. That shit will come in handy in battle.”

“What?” she exclaimed, and tried pulling back but she couldn’t.

“Look at her. She’s gorgeous. I can’t wait,” Collink said to his brother.

“Then start, brother. Start,” Mosek stated.

Collink cupped her breast and then leaned down to kiss her. She shook her head. She had to buy more time. “Wait, slow down and just wait. I have questions.”

“No time for questions. You’re hotter than your pictures, and have grown into quite the woman,” he said to her, and slid the strap of her bra down.

“Don’t do that, and it’s pixie powers I have, and no vampire.”

“Pixie?” he asked and lifted up. Keep them talking.

She had to in order to not get raped. “Yes, do you want to know what I can do?” she asked, and then thought of the day Alexandra showed her what was inside of her. She thought of that now, and suddenly that glowing light appeared and Mosek and Collink got away from her and stood at the edge of the bed. She thought about the bindings to her hands and they came undone. The wings grew out from her back and she started to levitate, actually lift up off the bed. Their eyes widened.

“Tell me, what are your fathers’ plans for me, for you, and all the women and children you have taken against their will?”

“They will become part of our pack, and we will be able to assist in the ultimate fight when it happens.”

“What ultimate fight, and assist who?”

Collink went to answer, but Mosek caught onto her act. “She’s trying to trick us. Pixies are sneaky, and they like to play games,” he said, and then jumped back onto the bed and she fell back. He straddled her hips and then grabbed her arms and held them above her head. Mosek undid his pants. “I bet an orgasm is something else when a wolf has his cock buried deep inside of you,” he stated through clenched teeth. He barred those teeth and then lowered down to nip at her.

She screamed. “No. No, it isn’t good, it will hurt you if I’m like this.”

  He eased up.
Bullshit,” he said, and then started to pull her panties down, and she shoved her fist up against his jaw, shocking him and causing him to fall back. She rolled to the side, fell onto the floor and then slid under the bed. She still couldn’t shift to her wolf. They were trying to grab at her and as she went to the right. Mosek grabbed onto her ankle and yanked her out from under the bed. He pressed her over the edge and she screamed as she heard her mates. Their roars echoed outside the door as it burst open. Viper, Scor, Bider, and Buschool stormed into the room, and in a flash grabbed for the brothers. “Don’t kill them!” she screamed at them.

“Why not? They dare take our mate and try to force themselves on you and bear their cubs? They should die horrible deaths,” Buschool said to them.

“They know too much. They can help stop their fathers, and save all those women and children. Alexandra and Loki will know how,” she said.

Scor pulled her into his arms as the others secured Collink and Mosek. “Are you okay?” he asked her, and breathed in her scent as he held her tight.

“I can’t shift. Something in the drugs I think,” she said to him.

“Wow, you lucky wolves,” Rule said as he, Temerec, and Law entered the bedroom. Their eyes went to Avi and she hugged Scor, who growled low along with Viper, Bider, and Buschool. They stepped back and chuckled. Viper pulled off his shirt and quickly put it on Avi. She smiled, held it close, and inhaled his scent. “Please get me out of here,” she whispered.

“As you wish, our little pixie,” Bider whispered to her and kissed her forehead.

  “Little pixie?” she asked.

“Saw the special magical light through the window in the darkness and knew exactly what room you were in.”

“Yeah, and you came right through the window.”

“I got here didn’t I, wolf?” he said to Viper.

“At the same time,” Viper replied. “I was a few seconds earlier.”
