Take All Of Me: A Brother’s Best Friend, Sibling Rivalry Romantic Suspense Novel (The Takers Series Book 1) Page 20

by Sienna Evans

“I can take care of myself, you know.”

“I know, baby. I just like taking care of you.”

“Mr. Jacobs gave me an ultimatum,” I blurted out. Finally, being able to make the confession allowed me to breathe better. “He said I had two choices: work for him in the DA’s office or walk away without knowing when my life would end.”

“He threatened you, Celeste?” He didn’t even give me an opportunity to reply. “When? Why didn’t you tell me before? What did he say when you told him to go to hell?”

We were standing too close. His emotions bottled over so much that his grip tightened. I didn’t know what to say, or if there was anything more to say. He started pacing back and forth. His hands shot up to tug at his hair; he pulled and ran his fingers all the way down.

  “Don’t tell me―”

“I didn’t know what else to do.”

He rushed at me, grabbing me by the shoulders. “You come to me, Celeste. You’re my responsibility, mine.”

My breathing sped up. His breath was heavy and rushing in my face. “I’m sorry.”

“Is there anything else to go along with this?”

“And... And Brendan came to my place.” I shoved at his chest. “He threatened me―”

  “Before tonight?”

I nodded up and down. Greyson took off for his car. I followed. For every one step he made, I had to make two. He was parked on the other side of the building, in a covered lot.

“I’m going to kill that him!”

“And then what, Greyson? You’re with the Feds. How are you getting out of killing an NYPD Detective?” I held onto his arm. He tried to shake me off, but I didn’t make it easy.

“If you would’ve told me before, I could’ve put an end to this!” He spun around and gripped my arms again.

  “I’m okay, Greyson.”

“Well, I’m not!” He pressed me into him, holding closely and running his fingers all over me. “Let me take chances, not you.”

“Don’t you see? We can make this work for us. I was scared of the direction my career was taking with the Russians, but things are going to be different. We can control this so much better. And you, what’s your angle in this?”

“Brendan. They’re... We’re after Brendan. He’s been in with the Russians for quite some time.”

“I’m not surprised. He had something to do with Quinn’s death, or at least knew where she was.”

  “Yeah, I know.”

“You knew?” I tugged out of his hold. “You assumed? You guessed?”

“I knew, not for long though. CeCe, he’s in deep.” He pulled me back near to his chest. I inhaled the fresh scent of laundry detergent in his tee shirt.

“We’re going to need to strategize. Once we’re back inside, be up front with them. Have the Russians asked you to do anything whatsoever?”

“No, Jacobs is waiting for me to get licensed. But the DA is in with them too. He called me into his office to tell me that I’ve made the right choice. Do you know Brendan was the one to tell them about me? He somehow managed to convince them to use my role, once I pass the bar.”

“I’m going to fix this, somehow,” Greyson promised like before, then reaching down for my chin added, “Don’t keep anything from me again.” He brought our mouths together.

I bobbed my head up and down. His lips demanded more than a gesture. From the way he pressed into me and darted his tongue around my mouth, words weren’t what he craved. His breath cut sharp. He let me go.

“All I could imagine was him touching and taking advantage of you. I nearly lost my mind. Knowing you were cornered and needing me, I didn’t about anything more than saving you.”

“But I’m here. You’re here. We’re both safe.” I crept up to my toes and reached around his neck. It’s like he was waiting for me to give him permission to take me right then. Right there.

  Greyson

I don’t know how or when we ended up in the back seat of my Mustang, but we did. I was beyond livid, as wicked thoughts of bringing down this whole organizational structure were finally able to flee my mind. She’d slipped off her tights, whipped out my cock and straddled me within a matter of seconds. The shaking ended when I slipped inside of Celeste’s juicy haven.

“Oh God, I love you, Greyson,” she cried before biting into my lips. It was a painful satisfaction, knowing that this she could love me so passionately.

“I swear, you’re all I’ll ever need, baby.” My own words stung. I’ve never been one to get chocked up, but here I was swimming in emotions and on the verge of giving my life for the sake of love.

I guided her grind so that I could dive deeper inside. She moaned loudly, and her nails dug into my neck. Even still, she never once broke away from gripping my shaft with her inner muscles. It was the most satisfying and complete thing I’d ever experienced in this life.

Every day, since we allowed the obvious to build, I’ve been drowning, seriously drowning in a sea of love. Never knew I’d ever be worthy of this level of happiness. Never expected to find a life outside of this criminal one I’ve come to know. But here I was, with the woman of a lifetime loving on me like I was her sun, moon, and stars.

Celeste and I found love in the midst of tragedy. Granted, we’d always been ready, just not willing to step forward. Yet we started on a path to completion at the right time. As we planned this next stage of our lives, I was going to make it my duty to take every tragic thing and overshadow it with my love. I was going to prove, every day of her life, that what we had was so much bigger than this twisted world we lived in.

“I planted the seed, Apollo’s watered the plant, but it was God who made the plant grow. The one who plants and the one who waters really do not matter. It is God who matters, because he makes the plant grow. There is no difference between the one who plants and the one who waters; God will reward each one according to the work each has done.”
