The traitor’s Bowie missed and struck the Czilim’s deck beside Park’s head. Park began to speak but words didn’t come out. His migraine was on the verge of killing him.
After a short painful yelp from the kidney wound, Cross lifted the Bowie and struck it at Park’s face with both his hands. The blade stopped an inch away from Park’s right eye.
In his subconscious, Park knew how his former XO fought. The microbiologist had used his left hand to block Cross’s strike. Despite the bloody wound, he found the will to hold back the large Bowie with his hand. But the pain was sinking his last ray of strength.
With his other hand, Park swept the Seal Pup above him and sliced Cross’s throat. Blood fell over Park’s face from his former XO’s body which fell beside him.
Nick Park did not have any communications device on him and could care less about what was happening near him. He felt someone board the Czilim and saw Tanner over him, smiling reassuringly.
Tanner checked Park’s pulse and for signs of injury. Then he clicked another channel on his comms and said, “We have him alive but lost the package. Immediate medical support and exfiltration required. You need to send Search-and-Rescue teams fast on the Hounds’ location. Red Wolf out!”
Slowly Park’s mind went blank. His fears, migraine, pain and anger disappeared like they were never there. He felt his vision going dark and sank into what seemed like oblivion.

Thank you for reading my book. You are now a virtual Taskforce COBALT operator. :D
I request you to leave an honest review on Amazon or on Goodreads after you finish reading. Even a small review would do wonders for an author.
If you liked this book, please do spread the good word on social media or to your fellow bookworm friends and spread the excitement.
This is the first of a three-part epic that is in the making. I have researched some parts of the historical, mythological, scientific and technical matters covered in the book. Yet some parts are purely fictional for the fun factor. To know what is real and what is not, I suggest you to research the topics which will leave you awestruck.
Acknoledgements
I can be honest enough to say that my first draft of Alaskan Storm was laughable and terrible with a plethora of mistakes. I received valuable corrections from Jim Anderson and Dori Barrett. I sincerely thank them both. Ms. Barrett’s input as a proofreader was nothing short of a miracle. Without her help, this book would not have been publishable.
I express my gratitude to two great authors, Aiden L. Bailey and Andrew Warren, whose friendship has helped me by leaps and bounds. They are the most encouraging mentors any amateur author could hope for. Their patience with me, and the knowledge that they have in the Indie publishing industry continues to amaze me. The credit for designing the cover image of this book goes to Mr. Bailey.
I thank Kashif Hussain for the moral support he has given me in my interests, both reading and writing thrillers. He had faith in my work which motivated me to better my draft.
