  Chapter Twenty-Eight

  1

Trevor was at the cemetery. He was on his knees in front of Ashley’s grave. Tears were running down his face. He was praying to God.

“God, I don’t know what to say,” he started. “Things are really messed up. I hate living anymore.”

He needed answers. He needed forgiveness. He needed God to show him the way. He was sure that God had a plan for him. He just didn’t know what that plan was.

He had seen what was planned for Robert. If Trevor was to be a follower of God, one of the marked, then Robert would be his enemy forever.

He didn’t know what was in store for him. He didn’t even know if he could keep living or be happy without his daughter. Why would he want to do anything anymore?

There was a small part of him that wanted to get angry at God. He didn’t know if it was God’s plan or not.

“Forgive me,” he said. “Show me the way or leave me be.”

Robert and Bella were out in the barn. They didn’t want to be in the stinky barn. They did have a problem that had to be taken care of.

Cindy had entered the barn. Robert had sent the sheriff to go get her. She acted as though she knew what the problem was.

“So, you told her where my son is?” Robert asked.

  “What?” Cindy said.

Cindy was going to try and lie her way out. Robert and Bella already knew the truth. She almost peed in her panties.

“A whore is only good on her knees,” Robert said. He pulled out his penis. “Come over here and show me how sorry you are.”

Cindy began to walk over. Robert put his penis back into his pants. He had a smile on his face. Cindy was confused and scared.

Bella struck first with her knife. She stabbed Cindy in the stomach. Then Robert walked up and cut her throat only to add insult to injury. He didn’t care how fast she died.

They stood there and looked down at the body. The young girl was trying to break free of Robert and Bella. She was now free.

“Have her friend,” Robert started. “Lou, get rid of the body.”

  Chapter Twenty-Nine

  1

Angie was in her room drawing pictures on the walls. A baby was in each picture. She was mumbling a song which no one understood.

She had a crayon in each hand. Her hands were moving fast. Her pictures looked as though a toddler had done them.

She spent all of her time in her room. The farmhouse and barn had filled up with bad people. Her head couldn’t handle all of the commotion. Then there was the baby that they had brought in. There was constant crying. She had been constantly thinking about hurting people at the farmhouse.

Nobody bothered her, not even Robert. The sheriff was the only one she had seen. He would only come up when he needed to get off. He was never nice about it.

Angie knew that her body was changing. She wasn’t bleeding anymore. She was carrying the sheriff’s baby. She hated the sheriff.

She had crazy visions of what this could mean for things to come. She knew that Robert would take her baby too. She would fight to keep it and she would die.

They didn’t have any other need for her. No one had any need for her. She wanted to leave the farmhouse with her baby. She thought about killing that baby that they had brought in before she left.

  2

Terry walked outside to get some air. She wished that she had put on a jacket. There was a chill in the night’s air.

There were so many things to think about. Her mind would never be right till she had her baby back. She couldn’t talk to Trevor about.

She walked to the edge of the yard and stood there. It was too cloudy to see a sunset. Terry missed watching sunsets. She had hated sunsets for awhile, because it meant night would soon follow.

Terry knew that she was going to have to leave Trevor for a while. She must go find her son. She must make sure her baby is alright. She didn’t wonder what Robert had planned for their son.

She kept telling herself that she would kill Robert when she saw him, but that wasn’t the truth. There were things that she must know. Robert had the answers that she was looking for. Then she might kill him.

She stood and turned to the house. She would go in for her last night with Trevor. Once she had him, she didn’t know if she loved him anymore. Why was she so confused?

Cindy had also told her about Lou and Trevor being together. It had broken her hurt. She hadn’t thought that Trevor was the type of guy to be that way. She knew that she would continue on with Trevor despite what he had done.

She headed to the house knowing that she would be gone in the morning. She wasn’t going to wait for more hell to come her way. She wasn’t going to wait around for news that something had happened to her baby.

The marked people didn’t accept her. Trevor was the only reason why most people even talk to her. Some thought that she was Robert’s spy. Terry had no plans on ever being like Robert or any of his followers.

Deep down Terry knew that she would be back. She would be back to her grandma’s house. She would be back in Trevor’s arms. Her baby boy would be back home.
