“I thought we were just going to be friends,” she protested.

“Actually, I think we’ve been pretty clear that we want to date you and see where this relationship goes. You tell yourself that you only want friendship for now, but I think, if you are truly honest with yourself, you want more, too.” Logan spoke quietly, looking into her eyes, and he was deeply serious.

Mary pulled away from him. She looked into Derek’s face briefly. He saw guilt in her face for a second before she turned away.

“I don’t think we should have sex again. At least, not right now.” Mary hugged herself.

Derek wondered what the guilt was. “Okay. We’d like to share the bed in the master suite with you, though. I think we can manage not to ravish you in the night, despite the temptation.”

Mary was silent for a long moment. “Okay,” she finally agreed.

Was the guilt over Bob somehow? Had she not broken up with him as she’d said?

Derek found it hard to believe that Mary would still be with Bob. She spoke as though she was glad to be rid of him, and there was no lie in her tone or her body language. Was there someone else she was pining for?

  The guilty look bothered him.

Derek had fallen in love with Mary weeks ago. He knew she was right for them. She was smart, caring, worked hard, and they liked the same things and had the same values. He wouldn’t have thought she’d have much to be feeling guilty about.

The second movie ended late, so they headed upstairs.

Mary took over the big bathroom while he and Logan changed into pajama pants in their own rooms. He entered the master bedroom to find Mary sitting on the big bed in a lace trimmed T-shirt and short set. It was pretty and functional and set off her olive skin beautifully.

Derek quickly moved over to the bed to urge Mary under the covers before his pants tented too obviously. Logan walked into the room just as Derek slid in behind her and snuggled up against her soft body.

“Really?” she drawled as his flannel-covered hard cock nestled against her ass.

“Can’t help it. You’re too beautiful,” he murmured in her ear. “Logan will be the same. You’ll see.”

“What are you two whispering about?” Logan asked. He snuggled against Mary’s body, kissing her temple.

“It’s like being with two teenagers,” Mary said sleepily.

“We are not adolescent boys,” Logan admonished her. “We’re manly men who can’t help but be aroused by a beautiful woman. But nothing will happen unless you want it, Mary,” he added in a softer tone.

  “Sleepy,” Mary slurred.

  Derek looked at Logan.

  Maybe there was hope yet.

  Chapter 16

Mary awoke feeling better than she had in ages. She had slept deeply and hadn’t waked in the night. She was just the perfect temperature, warm but not overheated. And she had this glorious feeling of safety and protection.

And she gradually realized that she was in bed curled up against one of the Murray brothers. She was pretty sure it was Logan by the feel of his hand on the bare skin of her back.

He was lying on his back, and she was curled against him, her head resting on his shoulder and his arm around her. Her leg was thrown over his, and she could feel his morning erection against her knee.

She was still in her pj’s, as was he.

She realized she could hear someone in the bathroom and assumed it was Derek.

  Mary was torn.

This felt so right, so good, and yet how could it be? She had known these men only a few weeks. That wasn’t long enough to fall in love. It wasn’t long enough to know that they should be spending the rest of their lives together.

But how long should that take?

When Mary looked back on her time with Bob, she should have known they shouldn’t get married after the first few months. Why had she stayed with him? Why had she accepted his proposal?

She had come to realize it was to please her parents. They saw Bob as an up-and-comer in the firm where Mary worked, and they thought she should tie her fortunes to him. They didn’t take into account whether he was a nice person, whether he loved her, or whether they made each other happy.

Her mother didn’t care about any of that. LeeAnn’s family hadn’t been well off when she was growing up, and that influenced everything she did. LeeAnn had supported her parents in retirement, though they had died relatively young. She had focused on being wealthy enough that her children didn’t have to support her and Howard and that they would be able to support themselves as they aged. In LeeAnn’s view, happiness would follow money and security.

And what would her parents think of Derek and Logan? Well, the fact that they wanted a ménage wrote them off immediately. It didn’t matter that they cared about her happiness. It didn’t matter that they were good people, kind and generous, funny and smart. Just the kind of guys Mary wanted in her life.

It didn’t matter to her parents that Mary would be happy to make their lives easier by being the bookkeeper and accountant for their businesses. It would take a lot of work off both of them if she could do that. And they would value her skills. Just like most people, Mary wanted to be valued.

So what would change if Mary began seeing the Murray brothers seriously?

Her parents would either give up on her entirely, or they would find a way to really pressure her to bow to their commands.

She suspected they would give up. It would be a lot of work to hassle her, and for what? To have a daughter who went back to her condo and resented them forever?

Maybe she should let the two handsome men into her life a little more. Not a permanent, move-in-together-and-start-talking-marriage thing, rather just seeing each other regularly. And doing fun things. And having really great sex.

“What are you thinking so hard about?” asked Logan, his voice a bit raspy with sleep.

Mary swallowed. Time to tell the truth or create polite fiction.

“I was thinking it would, er wouldn’t… Oh, I mean I think we should date,” Mary managed clumsily. God, she sounded like a dork. “I mean see each other, kind of exclusively.”

Mary’s head moved up and down on Logan’s chest as he chuckled. “Finally!”

“Finally what?” Derek asked as he walked into the bedroom.

“Mary thinks we should see each other, kind of exclusively,” Logan mimicked, though not unkindly to Mary’s ears.

Derek leaped onto the bed, startling Mary and giving her a deep kiss that had her clutching at his chest until she remembered she hadn’t brushed her teeth.

Derek pulled away and smiled at her. “I knew you’d see reason eventually.”

Logan pulled her back down onto the bed. “I think we should reward you.”

Oh my. Mary hoped that meant what she thought it did.

Logan wasted no time in pushing her top up over her breasts and sucking on one nipple. Oh, that felt so good! It sent shivers over her body, and her pussy dampened immediately. She involuntarily turned her body toward his.

Derek’s gentle hands pulled the top off her body. He, too, claimed a nipple, and Mary shivered all over again.

Logan pulled off with a pop and caressed her face. He trapped her eyes with his and said, “You won’t regret this, Mary.”

A little bit of doubt made itself known in her chest, the sharp edge of it jabbing her sternum. She shoved it back, wanting to enjoy this without thinking about the ways it could all go wrong.

Logan’s skilled hands crept downward, teasing the elastic waist of the shorts that matched her now discarded top. He slipped his hand farther down. “Why, Derek, our little Mary sleeps commando,” he observed with laughter in his voice.

Derek pulled off her nipple, too. “Good thing we do, too.”

He and Logan shucked their pj bottoms, and Mary was treated to the sight of their cocks. She had always thought “magnificent” was overused in romance books, but she had a hard time coming up with another way to describe them
.

The two men were almost identical. The thatch of hair at the base was slightly different in colour, and the shape of the head was just a little dissimilar, but it was clear they had come from the same genetic pool…the well-endowed genetic pool.

“Logan didn’t get the pleasure of your mouth last time,” Derek said softly.

Mary eagerly got to her hands and knees in front of Logan and licked him very slowly from balls to tip. He tasted wilder than Derek, woodsy and tangier. She licked again, just as slowly.

Normally she wouldn’t be this eager to give a blowjob. With her past lovers, it had felt like something she had to do, an obligation that went with being a girlfriend. The Murrays made her feel as though it was the best gift she could give, and their appreciation aroused her in turn. Their complete and open pleasure made her ever more aware of her body’s eagerness for them.

Derek had his hands on her shorts and pulled them off, steadying her as she lifted one leg then the other so he could remove them completely.

“Yeah, Mary. Keep teasing him. He found it funny when it was me you were licking so slowly.” Derek’s voice was filled with laughter and satisfaction as he caressed her back.

Logan groaned and hissed as Mary took her time tasting him. She finally showed a little mercy when she suddenly and quickly took as much of him into her mouth as she was able.

“Fuck!” he yelled as the head of his dick hit the back of her throat. His hand rested on her head, and his fingers tangled in her hair, but he didn’t take control of her head.

She slowly bobbed up and down on his cock.

Derek had slipped two fingers into her pussy and was finger-fucking her in time with her sucking on Logan’s cock. It felt good, but she wanted more. She wiggled her hips at him.

“Do you want more, sunshine?” he asked, his voice deep with arousal. “Do you want my cock in you?”

Mary nodded vigorously, Logan’s cock still in her mouth. He groaned. It was a desperate sound that filled Mary with a surge of power and satisfaction.

She felt the sheathed head of Derek’s cock push into her pussy. She tried to slam her hips back onto him, but Derek anticipated her move and held her firmly.

“No way, sunshine. How about whatever you do to Logan, I’ll do to you?”

That was an interesting game and one Mary had certainly not played before.

She moved up and down on Logan’s cock, and Derek mimicked her perfectly. She rotated her head and twirled her tongue around the head of Logan’s dick. Derek swiveled his hips, and this time, Mary was the one moaning.

She sucked harder and moved her head faster. Derek pounded into her from behind, angling his hips in a way that his penis rubbed her G-spot with each thrust. Soon Mary was desperate to come, but she wanted Logan to go first.

She reached up to fondle his balls. She gently scraped her nails across his scrotum, and that was Logan’s undoing.

“Oh, Mary!” Logan let out a few more curses and came, pulsing in her mouth.

Mary swallowed, loving the taste of him and that she had given such pleasure.

Derek had slowed his pace as she drank down Logan, but when Logan pulled out of Mary’s mouth, Derek upped his pace again. He gently pressed Mary’s chest down onto the bed, putting her ass higher in the air.

When she was positioned to his satisfaction, he fucked her hard and reached around to rub her clit.

That was all it took for Mary. She had been on the edge for so long, the light stimulation of her clit sent her over. An orgasm lashed through her, powering up and down every nerve, leaving her gasping and shaking.

She heard and felt Derek come. He shouted her name and drove his cock deep into her, holding himself there and pulsing into the condom.

When he eased out of her and laid her on the bed, Logan was there, too, wrapping his arms around her and pulling the cover back over the three of them.

When Mary woke the second time, Derek was the one still in bed with her.

“Logan’s making breakfast,” he murmured in her ear. “Do you want me to get you a coffee?”

Mary thought about it. Unfortunately, if she had coffee in bed, she might never get out. “No, I should get up and shower.” Her voice was still a bit thick.

“I really want to shower with you, but I think we’d get distracted.” Derek nuzzled her neck, and Mary felt that small movement to the tips of her toes.

  “You’re probably right,” she agreed.

“You take this shower, and I’ll go to the other bath near our bedrooms and shower.”

  “You don’t use this bedroom?”

“We don’t sleep together without you in the middle, sunshine.” He chuckled. “That would be creepy.”

Mary felt a little stupid. Of course the two brothers didn’t normally sleep together. That would be creepy. And definitely a deal-breaker in the relationship.

  “I wasn’t thinking,” she admitted.

“You haven’t recovered from the awesome sex yet.” Derek sounded way too smug.

But Mary couldn’t come up with a witty response. “Need shower and coffee.”

“All right then. Come on.” He sat up and flipped the covers back.

It was definitely cooler outside the bed than inside. Late fall made the mornings crisp, and Mary had heard the heating quietly click on while they woke up.

She showered in the fabulous bath and put on jeans and a long sleeved T-shirt. Padding out to the kitchen, she smelled coffee and some sort of breakfast meat.

“Is this another meat-stravaganza?” she asked Logan.

“Not really. There’s bacon and scrambled eggs, but if you want anything else, we can probably provide it.” Logan handed her a coffee, already doctored to her specifications.

Mary felt a little guilty at that. They obviously had watched her closely enough to know just how she liked her coffee, but she couldn’t return the favour. She kept an eye on Logan as he poured his own. Black. No sugar. That was easy.

“I think I might skip the bacon and go with eggs and toast. Want me to start toasting?”

  “Sure.”

“Okay. You sit, and I’ll toast and clean up a bit.”

“You don’t have to do that. You’re our guest.” Logan tried to block her from the kitchen.

Mary pulled his head down and kissed him. When she released her hold, she slipped around his body while he was too surprised to do anything.

“Cheater,” he grumbled but grinned at her.

“You can’t be that upset to have someone offering to clean.”

“Okay, no, not really.” He sat at the breakfast bar and sipped his coffee.

Mary started some toast and filled the sink with hot, soapy water. As she washed dishes and buttered toast, Logan told her the plans for the day.

“We thought we’d go hiking in the Barbers’ bush. There’s some great trails there along the escarpment. You game?”

“Barbers. That’s Lisa, Mike, and Craig?”

“Yep. They have quite a spread, and they’re fine with their friends using the trails.”

Mary set a plate in front of Logan with eggs, bacon, and toast. “Anything else you need?”

“Ketchup, please.” He pointed to it on the counter, and Mary passed it to him.

She would have to remember that. Logan liked ketchup with his eggs.

Derek walked into the kitchen and helped himself to coffee. No sugar, just a small hint of cream. Mary shooed him out with a spatula in her hand. He grinned at her, his hair still slicked back and damp, and he put up his hands in defeat. She served him breakfast and noted that he did not take the ketchup.

“You don’t have to serve us, you know,” he pointed out.

“Yeah, I heard that from your brother already. I don’t mind. You guys cooked. I can clean up a bit.” Mary fixed her plate and set it beside the toaster. She washed the last few dishes and then joined them when her toast was done.

“So, can I see the outside of this place before we hike?”
Mary asked.

The short days of fall had meant Mary had only arrived at the house after dark. Finally, she could see the spectacular view of the bay out the windows along the back of the main floor. To see that every day would be a privilege. It would change so much with the seasons and weather she was sure it was never the same twice.

“Sure. Logan should take you to his shop,” Derek said. “He’s got quite the setup.”

Logan actually blushed a little. “It’s nice. It’s set up the way I like it.”

“It’s about the only place that he’s super neat and tidy,” Derek teased.

  “Bite me,” offered Logan.

  “Let’s see this, then.”

  Chapter 17

The outside of the Murray home was lovely. Though the gardens were dead with the frost, it still exuded a homey feel that Mary liked.

Made of stone and wood, it had a rustic vibe but was architecturally modern with large windows. Set into a hill, from the front, it appeared to be a simple home, mostly one story but with a loft. Around back, it was clear there were two floors plus the loft.

There was a narrow deck on the main floor that provided a bit of shade to the large patio below. The basement exited to the patio, and the water was close, but not close enough that Mary feared flooding. It was a rocky shore, as was most of Georgian Bay, and there was a spot for a dock in the summer. It had been put away so the coming winter weather didn’t wreck it.

The patio had an outdoor fireplace built at one end. It was quite large and had an area with a grill for cooking. It could warm the area enough that the patio could be used more that just in the summer.

Logan’s shop was on the opposite side of the house from the water. It was set back in the trees, camouflaging the utilitarian outside of the building. It was larger than Mary had expected, but when he let her inside, she saw that there was a lot of space for wood storage. True, the working area was large as well, but not as big as the storage.

The first thing that hit Mary was the fabulous smell. She could smell the wood, and now she knew why Logan smelled like he did. It must be absorbed into his blood, that wonderful smell of cut timber.
