“La… la,” he murmurs as he comes hard.

We both still as we pant for breath, his head slowly moves from my neck to come up and look at me, and our eyes lock. His are sparkling with something, it’s not lust, I’m not sure what it is, but I like it. He leans in to kiss me hard. I kiss him back. The kiss is slow, passionate, as our tongues dance together in a beautiful rhythm.

We’ve had sex for the first time, and it was everything I thought it would be and more.

  He’s fucking perfect.

He pulls back, a sparkle in his eyes showing nothing but mischief. “So… this is your kitchen?”

I burst out laughing, then pull him back to kiss me.

Yeah, we’re going to be just fine.

  NEALA

  Five Days Later

The rush to get Zane’s sister, Mia’s nursery ready, is real. Her due date is only a matter of days, but the room is still practically half empty. Most of the deliveries are coming in today, but I’m on a tight schedule. I sat down with Chloe and went through some layout designs with her. Mia absolutely loves them, so I’m here now to prepare the room. The problem is, I’m pretty much all on my own. Well, Mia’s here, but there’s no way I’m getting her to do any heavy lifting in her condition. She could burst open at any given second.

“So what does Dale think of the design?” I ask Mia as a delivery man piles another wave of boxes into the room.

Her somber face says it all. “He loves it. He’s a little sad it’s not being done by Mitchell.”

Placing my hand on her shoulder for comfort, I’m not at all offended. Mitchell is Dale’s brother. Of course, he’d rather him do it. “I totally get it, but just think when they make up, Mitchell can redesign the room, and I will be one hundred percent okay with that.”

“But I like the room the way it’s going to be.”

“Oh thanks, Mia, you’re so sweet, nothing like your brother.” I giggle.

“So, you still won’t consider going out with Zane then?” She winks at me.

I laugh. “Kinda off the market now actually.”

She opens her eyes wide. “The other prospect?”

“Yes. He also got his patch so not a prospect anymore.”

She hums under her breath sounding like she’s impressed. “Oooh, he does sound like a catch. Zane needs to up his game.”

I laugh as I move over to a box with my cutter, swiping it open to reveal a chest of drawers. I exhale knowing this will be a shit to put together. But I’ll do it for Mia. She walks over sitting in the recliner chair I already put together today. She winces as she places her hand on her stomach making me frown at her.

  “What was that?”

She shrugs it off like it was nothing. “No, nothing, just Braxton Hicks.”

I huff standing up and walking over to her. “Are you sure? You’ve been wincing a lot the last two hours. Don’t think I haven’t been noticing.”

She chuckles. “You’re like the sister I never had. You’re more protective than… ahhh…” She doubles over in pain.

I fall to my knees reaching out, placing my hands on hers as fear creeps through me. “Shit, Mia!”

She looks at me, suddenly all the humor is gone in her features as she breathes a little heavier. “Okay, I think this is getting a little too strong to be Braxton Hicks.”

“Mia! This is crazy. How long has it been going on for?”

She looks at her watch. “About four hours.”

Opening my eyes wide, I stand up racing to her bedroom.

“Where are you going,” she calls out as I pick up her bags.

“Grabbing your birthing bags,” I yell to her as I drop them in the hall, running back to the nursery to see her still grabbing at her stomach. “C’mon, let’s go!”

She winces as I stand here wondering why she won’t get up. “Neala, stop panicking. I’ll call Dale to meet me at the hospital. You call an ambulance. It’ll be fine.”

“Ambulance? I have my car, I’ll drive. C’mon, let’s go?”

“Lala, I love you, but my baby’s coming and look at this room.”

I glance around sinking in on myself. “Oh.”

“Yeah, so I’ll go to the hospital, Dale will meet me there, but you keep working. Just lock up when you leave. Then the nursery will be a nice surprise for us when we get home with bubs, okay?”

I feel bad, letting her go in an ambulance on her own, but her child needs a room. So, I guess I don’t have a choice. “Okay fine, but I’m calling Zane, too.”

  “Deal.”

It’s two hours later, and I’m still nowhere near finished with this room. To be honest, I don’t think I’m going to get this done today by myself. So, I bite the bullet. Walking over to the recliner chair, I take a seat pulling out my cell. I recline back as I dial Tremor’s number. It answers quickly.

  “Angel.”

I relax at the sound of his voice. “So, I have a favor to ask you.”

“If it’s a sexual favor, I’m all in.”

I roll my eyes. “I’ll see what I can do. But in the meantime, can you grab Chloe and bring her over to Mia’s for me? I need her to boss me around, and I need your man strength.”

  He laughs. “My man strength?”

  “Yep, don’t question.”

“Okay, text me the address. We’ll be there soon.”

I glance around the room. “Thanks, Trem, I owe you.”

  “In sexual favors?”

“Oh Lord,” I groan ending the call as I hear him laughing.

Half an hour later, I’m opening the door to Tremor and Chloe. Chloe looks tired but well as I pull her in for a gentle hug. She holds me tight while we walk into the nursery.

“Wow! I never thought I would actually get to see what we were working on. Thanks for this, Neala.”

“Well, don’t thank me, thank Mia for going into labor.” I giggle.

Tremor walks over to the box which contains the chest of drawers. “I’m guessing this is where my man strength is required?”

I laugh. “Yeah, if you don’t mind?”

He winks at me as I gesture for Chloe to sit in the recliner chair. “Okay, Miss Chloe, you know the layout of this room. Your job is to sit in the chair and instruct me on what to do next.”

She beams wide. “Sure thing.” Chloe sits down looking around the room. “Well, I see the wall pictures aren’t up. I would get to them first, so you don’t have to bend over the furniture to place them later.”

Smiling, I was totally going to do that, but I want Chloe to think she’s in charge of this. “Good call. Okay, first thing’s first, pictures...” I glance at Tremor. “You build all the things.”

He salutes me as Chloe sits back reclining. “Thank you, Neala, this is just what I needed to help me get my mind of all the shit. Plus, being in charge is just the right job for me.”

Tremor looks at me like he’s in awe.

“You’re welcome, hon…” I throw a stuffed bear to Chloe with a giggle. “Well then, boss, what’s next?”

Four hours later, I stand back in the doorway with Tremor looking into the nursery as he chews on a piece of gum. My arms are cuddling a small teddy bear as Tremor has his arm wrapped around my shoulders. It’s a perfect little princess’s room. Shades of white, gray, and pink fill the room. The main wall a pink wallpaper with a white pattern on it giving it a soft luxe feel. The crib a gray color with a white valance and mattress with pink bedding. The chest of drawers a matching gray like the crib.

A small chandelier hangs from the center of the room. Some might say why does a baby need a chandelier? But this baby comes from a designer home, she needs luxe. So, I gave it to her. The change table matches the rest of the furniture. And as I stand back admiring our handiwork I let out a contented sigh.

“You did good, angel,” Tremor murmurs.

“We did good… the three of us.”

He leans in so close his minty breath brushes my face. “This will be us one day,” he murmurs
, then he leans in kissing my lips briefly. He walks into the room to talk to Chloe leaving me shocked.

He sees us heading in this direction. Kids? A family? I want to be with Tremor forever, kids are always on the cards, but knowing he wants that too is making me all kinds of delighted right now. I bounce up on my toes as I walk into the room still holding the bear then place it neatly on the change table.

“We better go. But I want to thank you both for helping me with this today. I really appreciate it. Also, Chloe, I’m going to give you some of the payment I receive from this job.”

Chloe waves her hand through the air. “No, you won’t. Just getting out and doing something I enjoy other than wallowing is payment enough. I don’t want to take anything away from your first paying job, Neala.”

“Well, how about I buy us all dinner tonight?”

  They both beam. “Deal.”

  Four Days Later

It’s been four days since Mia gave birth to little Addison. She’s been sending me pictures of her in her nursery. She’s simply adorable. Mia even snuck in a sneaky shot of Zane holding her. I’m so going to keep it for ransom one day when I need it.

Giggling to myself as I scroll through the pictures again, I’m happy Mia and Dale love what Tremor, Chloe, and I managed to pull off in the time we had before they arrived home with their new bundle of joy. She came into the world a few days early, so we weren’t prepared, but together we all pulled it off.

Tremor walks into my room from the bathroom wearing only a towel, smirking at me. “What are you giggling at?”

I look up at him, seeing his abs with a tiny trail of black hair disappearing under the towel. I want to smother myself in him again as I lose all train of thought.

“Lala?” he asks snapping me out of it as I glance back up at his face.

“Just looking at pictures of Addison.”

He chuckles. “What is it with you and babies?” He turns walking to his clothes, drops the towel leaving him naked as he picks up his briefs to get dressed.

I lay back on the bed and shrug. “I’m a woman, Trem, babies are kind of our thing.”

He turns back raising his brow. “Not for a little while, okay?”

I chuckle throwing my pillow at him exposing my breasts. “Shut up! You gotta put a ring on it first. Hell, you gotta Old Lady me before that even.”

He inhales like he’s preparing himself as his pearly whites show a mischievous side. “In that case, Neala will you—”

His question is cut short by my cell ringing. My heart leaps into my throat as I take a deep breath. “Jesus, anyone would have thought you planned that.”

He chuckles. “Maybe I did… you’ll never know.”

I snort as I grab my cell from my side table swiping the call. “Hello?”

“Little sister,” Torque’s tone is so formal it makes me laugh.

“What? You sound like you want something.”

“I need you and Tremor to come the fuck over.” Despite his words, there’s a playfulness in his tone.

  “Okay, to the club?”

“Nah, to our home. We’re havin’ a family dinner.”

I slump into the bed glancing to Tremor who’s watching me cautiously. “What do you mean we’re having a family dinner?”

He laughs. “Don’t sound so suspicious. Can’t the head of a family invite everyone around for a meal at his home?”

  “So, you’re inviting Tremor, too?”

He lets out a small exhale. “Look, Lala, I know you two are a thing. I need to embrace it. So, yes, he’s invited, too. You guys, Trax, Sparx, and the kids, Mom and Surge… the whole family.”

“Okay, we’re coming. Need us to bring anything?”

“Just yourselves and hurry!” He ends the call abruptly as I sit here in a state of shock, while Tremor walks over sitting on the edge of the bed beside me.

“What’s happening?” he asks placing his hand on my knee.

“We’re going to Torque and Foxy’s for dinner.”

He raises his brow. “To their house? The one not at the clubhouse, the one no one goes to?”

  “Yep.”

He beams with excited pride. “Well, shit, being a patched member does have its perks.”

“I think being with me is what’s gaining you access to the pres’ pad here, mister excitement.”

  He chuckles. “Yeah… probably.”

“Okay, let’s get dressed. We have to go there now apparently.”

Tremor lifts me from the bed planting a chaste kiss on my head. “This should be interesting.”

Half an hour later we’re pulling up to a small home on Damen Avenue. It’s so close to the clubhouse which is, I guess, why they have bought here. The home has a reddish-brown facade with white windows and trimmings. It looks homely.

Tremor pulls his bike up at the curb. I notice Trax’s truck is already here, so is Surge’s bike. Great, we’re late. But we got here as soon as we could. The others came from the club which is only a couple minutes away.

I slide off Tremor’s ride, he follows as we yank off our helmets and start walking toward the quaint little home. It’s not what I pictured for Torque and Foxy. I guess I pictured something lavish, something grand, but they wanted to be close, so you can only get what you can get. Comfort is the main thing. So we walk up to the door, and I can hear a crying baby from out here. I chuckle as I don’t wait to knock on the door. We’re family, so I open it walking straight on in. Tremor seems to hesitate, but he soon follows making sure to close and lock the door behind us. We make our way to the crying noise.

As I walk in, the inside of the home doesn’t match the outside. I glance around knowing my brother had the inside refurbished for Foxy. This place would have been a dump, but he wouldn’t want that for his queen, and now it looks like a brand new home. He’s done well. I’m a little surprised he didn’t ask me to help, actually. It’s like a show home in here. Hardwood floors, wooden accents, modern furniture. It’s lush.

As we enter the living room, I notice Trax bouncing Rix on his hip trying to stop him from crying as he bobs his head to us in greeting. “Hey, guys, I’ve been trying to settle him, I can’t seem to.”

I walk over. “Because Daddy’s too frazzled right now. Rix can sense it. Here,” I offer, taking Rix from Trax. The moment Rix is in my arms, he stops crying, instantly nuzzling into me.

Trax exhales with relief. “I love you.”

I chuckle. “You’re welcome. Go, have a beer, calm down,” I tell him. He wastes no time in turning to leave as Tremor walks over to me with a gleam in his eyes.

  “You’re good with him.”

I bounce Rix on my hip. “The baby or my brother?”

  He chuckles. “Both.”

I tilt my head toward where Trax left, and we follow. We exit through the kitchen to the small backyard to see Torque at the grill, but that’s not what surprises me. It’s that there’s a long white table under the pergola. Hanging from the oak tree to the pergola are little lanterns lighting up the summer night sky. It has such a romantic feel, definitely not something I would ever have pictured would be in my brother, the President of the Chicago Defiance Motorcycle Club’s home. This is freaking weird. Either Foxy has seriously got a firm grip on his balls or something is up.

Foxy moves over to Torque by the grill. She leans in kissing his cheek as I watch her hand smooth down over her stomach. My eyes open wide as it all clicks into place.

Holy shit. Foxy’s pregnant, and they’re announcing it to us all here tonight!

Excitement swells inside me. I won’t expose their secret, it’s theirs to tell, but I will have some fun along the way until they tell us.

“Nice of you to join us, finally,” Torque calls out to Tremor and me as we walk out onto the back patio.

“Well, it was very late notice. I had to make myself pretty for these babies,” I emphasize the last word making everyone look at me strangely.

“Why the hell would the babies
care how you look? Fuck you’re weird, kid,” Trax calls out taking a sip of his beer.

“All I am saying is babies are very important, aren’t they, Foxy?” I call out.

She turns to look at me, her eyes opening wide like she’s been caught as she glances at Torque, then back to me. “Ahh… yeah, sure thing, Lala.”

Tremor leans into my side clearing his throat. “Are you feeling okay?”

We walk over to two seats sitting down next to Trax and Sparx. “Never better.”

“Mm-hmm,” Tremor murmurs glancing from me to Trax with a shrug. Trax chuckles shaking his head continuing to guzzle his beer.

Mom peers at me as she sits next to Surge. I wonder for a moment if she’s had a chance to talk to my brothers about them yet. It’s not my secret to tell, but this would be so much easier if they knew Mom and Surge were an item. I feel like there’s so much not being said here tonight.

The smell of the meat sizzling over the grill is sending my stomach into a fit of hunger pangs. My mouth is drooling, as I glance over to see Torque cuddling Foxy while he deals with cooking the meat. They’re such a gorgeous couple. They’re going to make the best parents.

I snuggle into Rix on my lap, my gorgeous little nephew asleep with ease as he sucks on his pacifier effortlessly while his twin sister sleeps against her mother’s chest.

“So, boyo, is this going to be a regular thing? This family gettin’ together at your place?” Mom asks.

I raise my brow. I like this idea.

Torque steps away from the grill bringing Foxy with him as he steps up to the end of the long white table. The moon is shining brightly behind him, the lanterns swaying gently in the subtle breeze as the light gives it a romantic gleam. It’s quite lovely as he wraps his arm around Foxy, turning to look at her. “Actually, I wanted to bring you all here, my family, our family, because we haven’t really done anything like this before.”

I know what’s coming. I can hardly contain myself.

“Since Foxy came into all of our lives, Defiance hasn’t been the same… I haven’t been the same. We’ve had new people enter, new lives created in Grace and Rix,” Torque says, and I sit up taller bubbling in excitement. “Our family’s expanding every day. Hell, even Neala has found someone who can handle her.”
