It wasn’t Monica’s idea, but she wasn’t planning on arguing with Rojex. She was afraid he would rip her head off. Although Mr. Toad’s ship is colossal, there weren’t many crew members aboard. He had many of his Brotherhood on a secret mission, far away. The Renexobious were wasting away, and only had around a few hundred pure breeds left. Their species now consisted mainly of half-breeds, who were too young to be at full strength. Some of the half-breeds didn’t even know they were half breeds, and were scattered throughout different solar systems. Rojex was the first to enter Mr. Toad’s ship. He was met by five furious trigger happy Renex guards, who were not pleased to see the very same robot that had helped destroy their planet.
Mr. Toad was aware that he had unimportant insects running loose on his ship, and tried to get to his son, so that he could take him and Silvana away. They had secret plans that they had to fulfill. The UPG fighter, which had crashed into the space station, blocked the level Luis was on. Silvana chose to stay and fight, telling her father she would do what she could to reach her brother. He let her stay, and left in a smaller ship. Mr. Toad didn’t want to leave his daughter behind, but he had to make sure his plans for the future were completed on schedule. He hoped his daughter would survive. Mr. Toad loved her very much, and didn’t want her to be killed. He had already lost one child, and didn’t want to lose another. If Silvana and Luis did die, he still had one child left who would fulfill another plan he had in store for his species. It was a secret, kept between only Mr. Toad and his child.
Janet was being bombarded by the space station’s guns, and decided that she would have to dock the ship in order to survive. The Huntington was smoking badly. As soon as she found the closest hanger bay, she blasted her way in and safely landed. The hanger bay had been turned mercilessly into a vacuum, sucking out the pilots and mechanics that were attending to their ships. With the Huntington’s powerful guns, Natalie destroyed every ship that was docked in the hanger, setting them ablaze. Since there wasn’t any air in the hanger, and now that there was a huge hole in the bay door, Pong, Don, and Tony had to put on spacesuits so that they could infiltrate the space station. Pong was anxious to find Alexander. Don and Tony were on their own mission; to do whatever they could to find a way to disable the space station’s weapons system. That way they wouldn’t get shot down while trying to escape. The three of them each put on a headset so they could keep in communication with each other. Monica and the Haven sisters put one on as well.
Monica ordered that they only used the headsets when necessary, just in case someone else was listening on their frequency. Monica’s crew each carried a laser rifle, while Tony and Don also carried explosives. Once they had reached an air tight room, the three of them took off their spacesuits.
“All right, gentlemen, I’m going to take care of my business. I’ll meet you back here in a little while,” Pong said, as she kicked her spacesuit to the side. Her heart was racing with the taste of revenge imbedded deep in her soul.
“Just make sure you come back,” Don told her. Although Pong was very capable of taking care of herself, Don still viewed her as a young pretty girl.
“I will, but do me a favor. Make sure the lesbian love boat doesn’t leave without me,” Pong said sarcastically.
Don and Tony laughed at her comment, and nodded their heads in agreement, “Don’t worry, we won’t leave without you,” Tony told her.
They immediately parted in separate directions. The entire space station’s alarm system had been activated, and the red alarm lights slowly blinked on and off as an automated male voice repeated, “Intruder alert, Intruder alert.” All lights had been replaced with a red blinking glow of illumination.
Pong had no idea where she was heading, but let her female intuition guide her. “If I were a no good bastard…where would I be?” Pong asked herself. Equipped with only a laser rifle, a few throwing knives, and what she called a stunning red outfit, Pong took a left at the end of a hallway. She had taken the outfit from Monica’s room, after pick pocketing her security key. Pong promised herself that she would give the key back to Monica when they were a safe distance away from the space station. Her heart was pounding with excitement. At the end of the hall, Pong could see a group of doors. She hoped that one of them would lead to her prize…Alexander’s bloody throat.
Like a trained assassin, Pong inched against the wall, making sure she wasn’t seen as her body was illuminated by the red blinking lights. As she peeked around the corner, she saw two UPG guards checking a control panel on the wall. Pong slipped out two throwing knives from her back. She quietly walked behind them, and flung the knives, slicing deep into the back of their necks, severing their spinal column. The guards gargled on their own blood as they fell to their deaths. Pong opened each door and peeked inside, finding them only to be small offices. Pong decided to venture further down the hall, passing the guards that she had killed.
“No sleeping on the job, boys,” Pong said, as she hopped over their lifeless bodies. Around the next corner, she found another guard walking back and forth, in front of a large metal silver door. Pong slipped out another throwing knife, and waited for her chance to strike.
As soon as the guards’ back was to her, she hurled the knife, while running at him. The knife sliced deep into the back of his right hamstring, causing him to drop his rifle, and fall to the floor. The guard yelped in excruciating pain, grabbing at his leg. Pong quickly kicked away his rifle, and put the nozzle of her rifle to his temple. Even though the guard was in pain, he ceased to move and stopped breathing.
“Listen, honey, if you tell me where I can find the president’s assistant…I promise I’ll let you live,” Pong explained.
“You promise?” the guard asked, fearing for his life.
“Yes,” Pong said in a serious voice. The guard took a few seconds to think.
He had no idea if he could trust the Asian woman, “He’s on level three…in the construction bay…with the president,”
“How do I get there?” Pong asked, as she applied pressure to his temple.
“You have to take the elevator up to the third level. Then, you have to walk all the way down the corridor until you reach two giant silver double doors,”
“How many guards are there on level three?”
“Seven,” the guard simply stated.
“Are the double doors locked?”
“No, but they are guarded by two men. You won’t make it out alive,” he warned her.
“We’ll see about that, honey. Where is the key for the elevator?” Pong asked, as she charged her weapon. The sound made the man flinch in fear. The guard pulled out a circular green lit-up key from around his neck. Pong tugged at the key, breaking the chain in which it was attached to.
“Thank you…now close your eyes,” Pong instructed.
“I thought you said that you weren’t going to kill me?” the guard whimpered.
“I’m not, but I can’t have you running around telling your friends about me…can I?”
The guard squinted his eyes tightly, dreading the pain he was about to feel. Pong turned her rifle around, and smacked it hard against the guards head, knocking him unconscious. She wasn’t sure why she let him live. Pong thought it might have something to do with the gold wedding band she saw on his ring finger. After she opened the elevator door with the key, she pulled the guard in with her. She pressed the button for the third level. As soon as the elevator began to move, Pong pressed the button to stop the elevator, bringing it to a sudden halt. She positioned the elevator so that she was between levels one and two. Pong strapped her rifle tightly behind her back by using the guard’s belt, securing it in place.
She then stood on top of the unconscious man and pushed open a hatch on the elevators ceiling. Pong easily pulled herself up and began to climb up a metal ladder, which was next to the elevator. Once she reached the third level, she crawled into a large vent, which led to the direction she needed to go. Pong inched her way through the
vent, praising herself in the Chinese language, for being so tiny and skinny. As she passed through the vent, she was able to look through one of the vent covers. She didn’t see any guards around, which concerned her. Pong thought that maybe they had gone to the hanger bay, and were attacking the Huntington, or had possibly found Don and Tony. She hoped the old men were all right. Pong continued to move forward, making sure that she was as quiet as possible. She was beginning to hear voices, and what sounded like metal being welded, just ahead.
The closer she got, the louder the voices become. When she came in view of a vent cover, she looked through it…in disbelief. Pong’s eyes opened as wide as humanly possible, in shock of what she was seeing.
“Guys, you’ve got to see this,” Pong said through her head set.
“What is it?” Don replied first.
“I hope you guys found whatever it is you were looking for,”
“Actually, we have. We were able to blast our way to the main power generator, and then rigged it with explosives. I have a device to activate the charges at any time,” Tony explained.
“I’m going to need you two on the third floor, ASAP, and tell the Haven sisters that I have found the man that they have been looking for,” Pong explained.
“What did you find?” Tony asked, as he held his ear piece closer, so he could hear her.
“Never mind, meet me at the spot where we left our spacesuits. I can’t talk where I’m at, it’s too dangerous. Have the Haven sisters meet us there.”
“Affirmative.”
Monica let the Haven sisters go to meet Pong, to find out what new information she had. Luckily, the Haven sisters were able to find a quick link from Mr. Toad’s ship to the space station. They met Pong, and the two older gentlemen, near the Huntington, as the Asian beauty explained what it was that she had seen. “They’re building another ship like the Horizon. It’s almost identical.”
“Are you sure?” Don asked.
“Yes, I couldn’t believe it myself. Why the hell would they be building another colonial starship? The UPG has been telling everyone that our resources are completely spent, and that they almost weren’t able to finish the Horizon,” Pong said.
“Yeah, that doesn’t make any sense. Why keep it a secret?” Cinnamon asked. Heather shook her head.
“The name on the starship says Galaxy One,” Pong stated.
“Galaxy One? Something just doesn’t seem right to me,” Tony said.
Heather wasn’t too interested in a giant starship. She had something more important on her mind, “I heard you say that you’ve found the man we are looking for,”
“Yes, while I was looking through the vent cover, I saw the president,” Pong said.
“So?” Heather said, sarcastically.
“He is wearing a bishop’s outfit for the Red Cardinal.”
“Oh, my God,” Cinnamon said, as they both covered their mouths in shock.
“That’s not all. The room is full of Red Cardinals, UPG personnel, and a handful of ugly aliens. I was almost expecting Satan to show up,” said Pong.
Heather turned to her sister, and asked, “How are we going to do this?” The sisters held each other’s hands.
“Go in shooting?” Cinnamon asked.
“No, the other Cardinals will block his path. We’re going to have to sneak in and take them by surprise.”
“How?”
“One of us can go back into the ventilation shaft that I was in, and drop explosives. While they are running around like scared little mice, the rest of us can run in through the front double doors. There are seven guards on the third floor, but once the explosives go off in the room where the president is, it will be easy for us to cut them down with our laser rifles,” Pong suggested.
“That is an excellent idea. Don, why don’t you drop the explosives? You’re the best when it comes to timing them,” Tony said.
“Sounds good,” Don agreed.
“No one kills Alexander but me. So, please be careful when we go in shooting,” Pong said.
“The same goes for us. Leave the president to us. Don, make sure you don’t go dropping any explosives on his head. You hear me?” Heather told him.
“Don’t worry, I won’t,” Don answered.
“So, I guess that leaves everyone else for me. I wouldn’t mind getting rid of those flesh eating aliens,” Tony remarks, as he gets chills from thinking of an alien eating him.
“All right, team, let’s get to it. Tonight, after we all fulfill our personal debts, we’ll celebrate. Just keep the lesbians away from me if I pass out drunk,” Pong said jokingly. She had seemed to have naturally lead Monica’s team. After Don had loaded himself up with more explosives, the five of them prepared for their vengeful strike.
“Let’s break up their little party, shall we?” Pong said, picturing herself slitting Alexander’s throat.
Chapter 15
“Perish the Universe, provided I have my revenge.”
Cyrano De Bergerac
With all of her rage, Monica fired upon the Renexobious, who were blocking the way to her love. Just outside of the chamber door, where Jesse and Luis were located, the Renex guards formed a blockade of metal and cement objects. Monica and Rojex hid behind a wall, and had to shoot at the guards from around the corner, making it almost impossible to hit the aliens. Rojex was getting upset, because his favorite black leather trench coat is starting to accumulate small holes from laser blasts.
“Renex scum,” Rojex said, in his deep robotic voice. His eyes began to burn darker red in anger, after he had been shot again, creating another hole in his jacket. Rojex knew exactly where Jesse was, but was blocked by the group of Renex guards.
“This is taking too damn long, Rojex! What are we going to do?” Monica asked the robot in frustration.
Rojex was also annoyed at the length of time their standoff was taking. He had an idea. “Here, take this, and make sure it isn’t damaged. I’ll be right back,” Rojex carefully folded, then handed, Monica his precious leather trench coat, which Tommy Two Fingers had given to him over thirty years earlier. Monica gave the robot a confused look, as she took the coat from him. Monica thought that it was strange to see a robot care for a coat like it was a baby.
The tall robot twirled, then holstered his laser guns, and extended his sharp metallic fingers and feet. Rojex proceeded to claw the wall and climb up to the ceiling, toward the Renex guards. The guards nervously fired at the robot with little affect. The power of the laser blasts slowed him down while he tried to reach the furious looking aliens. They chomped their sharp giant teeth in anger. Monica did what she could to help Rojex, but it was too difficult to shoot around the corner. When Rojex was close enough, he leaped out and knocked down most of the Renex guards. Rojex instantly killed two guards, by ripping into their chests with his incredibly sharp pointy fingers. His arms were covered in blood. The rest of the Renex guards tackled Rojex, and proceeded to beat him with large chunks of metal, trying to disable him. They knew how strong he was, and didn’t want to give him the chance to get back up.
Now that they had stopped firing at Monica, she watched as the aliens took turns slamming Rojex in the head with chunks of metal and cement. Monica managed to sneak in a little closer, and hid behind a groove in the door. Rojex managed to cripple two more guards, by ripping into their ankles. When they fell to the floor, he ripped out their throats. Monica felt sorry for Rojex, who was still unable to get to his feet. Although the robot was extremely tough, his body was beginning to twitch and spark from all of the abuse that he was receiving. She took her time and trained her gun on one of the alien guards. As soon as she had a clean shot, Monica fired, hitting the Renexobious in the side of its head. Its brains splattered in chunks, behind it on the wall. The Renexobious guard fell dead onto Rojex, as the last alien continued to beat him over the head. Right when Monica was making her way to help the robot, three more Renex guards came rushing in, and said something to the last guard in their alien t
ongue. They laughed out loud. Monica hid behind the wall, hoping they didn’t see her.
The guards disregarded her presence, and dragged the malfunctioning robot away. She waited a couple of minutes, just to make sure they weren’t going to come back for her. When the coast was clear, she peeked around the corner and looked down the corridor where the alien guards had taken Rojex. She had a feeling that she wouldn’t be seeing him again. She felt bad she couldn’t help, but thanked God that she was still alive. Now that she had been left completely alone, she walked up to the cement door in which Rojex had told her Jesse was being held, and looked for a way in. Monica found Jesse’s pants, socks, and logger boots by the door. With all of her might, she tried to push the thick cement door open, but without luck. It was locked. The keyhole was oddly shaped, in the form of a strange hieroglyphic.
“There’s no way in hell I can pick this lock,” Monica said, as she kicked the door in frustration. She put her ear close to the thick door hoping she could hear something.
“Jesse!” she called through a crack. Monica quickly covered her mouth, as she remembered that she was still on an alien ship. She looked around, and then banged on the door a couple of times. “Jesse,” Monica whispered this time, hoping he could hear her.
Jesse could hear her, but his voice was too weak for her to hear him. Luis, on the other hand, was battling his changing body, and couldn’t answer her any way. The young space pirate tried to talk to his friend, hoping he could prevent the transformation. Jesse’s voice was becoming hoarse from screaming, and from everything else that has been happening to him in the last few days. Monica aimed her laser pistol at the lock and began to fire. She was worried that someone may hear the powerful laser blasts and stop her. The door was very thick. The laser blasts began to slowly burn through the lock. Monica was desperate to save the man she loved. She just hoped that he was still alive.
