  Late Night Radio

  Local News, May 12

“Good evening, Listeners. It’s 1am, and time for the Late-Night News.

Yesterday, judgement was passed in the case of the family drama in meadow Road; I have Ms. Hanna Carstens on the line. Good Morning, Hanna!”

  “Good Morning.”

“Hanna, you lived in Meadow Road for several years, and you knew the accused and the victims, is that correct?”

“Yes, that’s correct. My husband, Simon, and I lived there for two and a half years.”

“How did you react when you heard about the judgement?”

“I was unbelievably relieved. It would have been extremely irresponsible to allow that monster free again.”

“Did you know, or suspect, what was going on in that building?”

“No, I didn’t know. Of course, I knew all those involved. I also took care of Maria a few times.”

“If I understood correctly, from what I’ve read in the press, the whole thing was actually uncovered by a resident who only moved in after you had left. But he claimed you were well aware of what was going on.”

  “That is not true…”

“Please don’t get me wrong! I’m not accusing you of anything. He didn’t say that you were involved in any way; he just said that everyone who lived there had dirtied their hands in one way or another.”

“I don’t know why he would have made a statement like that. But, to understand what was going on in that building, you have to understand that, at some point, Derek Dagger began to put all of the residents under pressure in one way or another, either psychologically or physically.”

“Why do you believe that he needed to put his fellow residents under pressure?”

“I’d prefer not to speak about that.”

  “Did he threaten you?”

“Not me personally, but he threatened another resident. I’m not sure whether he was required to testify in court…”

  “Do you mean Paul Flakers?”

“Yes, Flakers. Derek Dagger assaulted him too, because he called the police.”

“After that incident, you and Simon moved out pretty soon. Is that correct?”

“Yes. We just couldn’t take it anymore.”

“And, I believe that you now have a new family member.”

“That’s correct. We took in a young girl who lived in the house. Child Welfare gave us the option, because we were the only people that she could relate to in some way, although we hadn’t seen her for five years.”

“Thank you for agreeing to this interview, Hanna! I wish you and your family all the best for the future.”

  “Thank you.”

“Ladies and Gentlemen, that was Hanna Carstens speaking about the sentence that was passed on Derek Dagger recently. This is the Late-Night News. Now, time for some music.
