Brianna (Shadow Wolves MC Book 2) Page 2

by Daniela Jackson

  No—

I want to rip that black gown off her and kiss every inch of her body. I want to devour my wife.

My wife. I repeat that phrase in my mind as joy pricks my heart.

I’m a husband. It’s so fucking challenging. And so fucking exciting.

Brianna tilts her head and watches me with her face sharpening. Uneasiness sits on my chest. Am I really so repulsive to her? I’ve never struggled with women and I know I can be nice. They like me, but it seems my wife is different to them. She hates me.

We move back and forth and honestly, the first dance is a disaster. I trample my wife’s feet at least five times. My hands sweat so much that I’m embarrassed by myself.

“You are a really good dancer,” I huff.

“I had ballet classes and Latin dance classes and—“

She sounds like I unnerve her so nod at her. “Wow. That’s fucking amazing.”

Fuck. No cursing. She’s only been my wife for half an hour so I don’t want her to think that I can’t behave like a civilised individual.

Brianna guides me effortlessly with her lips pursed into a horseshoe. Her movements are light and graceful, like she’s a feather floating above the ground and I’m clumsy like a bear torn out of its winter hibernation. Anger wells up in my chest. Knocking somebody’s teeth out would do me good. I want my wife to think that I have no weaknesses, that I can take care of her in every way. Being clumsy on the dance floor is not allowed.

I lean towards her. “You will give me a Latin dance performance tonight. Naked.”

Brianna arches her eyebrows and tramples my foot. Good. She’s embarrassed by herself. It will divert her attention to something other than my own clumsiness.

Finally, the torture called a wedding dance ends.

Ma and Dad approach us and hug us. Sive kisses my wife’s cheeks and hands her a drawing. It represents a knight and a seductive vampire. The knight has my face and the vampire has Brianna’s face.

“Thank you very much,” my wife says and strokes Sive’s arm.

Sive gasps and the muscles of her neck become taut. “Yyou are wwel-come.”

I run my knuckles down Sive’s cheek. “It’s really beautiful, sweetheart. Thank you.”

Emotions strangle my throat. I love Sive as though she’s my little sister. I wish I could make her healthy. I wish I could erase all the bad memories from her head.

Ma wipes the tears flowing from her eyes. “I’m so happy for you both. You look beautiful. Really beautiful.” She sniffles then loops her arm through Sive’s. “You have to eat something, sweetie.”

Sive bobs her head at her and they walk off.

Dad slaps me on the back and joins Sive and Ma.

“What’s wrong with Sive?” Brianna asks. “Her speech—“

“She had meningitis at the age of fourteen and it damaged her speech.”

“Poor girl. And that eye-patch. She’s so beautiful. You brother—“

“My brother and Sive need to work out all the shit between them.”

“They love each other. They will be okay, I’m sure. Don’t worry.”

I’m kind of stunned at her honest attempt to support me, though I don’t want to make her think that I’m soft or something. I’m the man here. I’m going to protect and support my wife not the other way round.

“It’s Axel’s job to deal with that shit,” I say. “Don’t think about it.”

Brianna emits a sigh and nods.

The food starts to arrive on the tables so we drop into our chairs and focus on eating.

After the meal, there is an exhausting photo session and we circle around the garden for two hours. I don’t mind though. The photographer tells me to kiss and embrace my wife. I enjoy every second of having her soft body pressed against mine even though the sunshine is killing me. I just don’t understand why Brianna shudders each time I touch her. She is more interested in the small sack hanging on the side of her waist than in me. I stifle the urge to tear this sack off her. I will be a civilised individual.

After the session, we eat another meal; there is more dancing, more hugging and more chatting with the wedding guests. I realise that I don’t even have time to talk to my own wife.

The sky turns grey when I finally lean back in my chair beside my wife. My eyes travel to the dance floor and I jerk my hands up. Fuck me. Axel is standing with Sive in his arms, his palm on her ass, his lips on hers and they sway in a parody of a dance. Relief washes over me. Now I can start to enjoy my own life. Everything is as it should be at last.

“You see,” Brianna says, nudging my chest with her elbow. “I told you. Your brother would have never given up.”

I take her wrist and place a kiss on her knuckles.

“You’re so sweet,” she says in a faltering voice.

“You’re sweeter. Like some fucking honey with a pinch of red chilli pepper.”

Brianna bursts into laughter. “You’re a romantic, no doubt.”

I realise I love her Spanish accent. Her voice is melodious, tinged with a bit of a tempting raspiness. All the stress inside me wears off and my hard dick demands to consummate the marriage. I haven’t touched any woman since I met Brianna for the first time. I guess I’m very conservative when it comes to the marriage and being faithful to the spouse. I feel that Brianna deserves it. This is my wedding gift for her.

I don’t dare hope that my wife has the same approach to our marriage. I don’t think about it. Our life together starts now. Only that matters to me.

“Shit, this is happening,” Brianna says.

I hold a wisp of her hair between my fingers. “This is happening.”

“This is happening,” she repeats like an echo, more to herself.

I run my knuckles up and down her cheek. It’s hot to touch, hot like her whole being.

A thought drums in my head. What if she doesn’t want to fuck tonight? I stroke her head. She’s my wife and this is her fucking duty, right?

I lean in and kiss her forehead. Okay. I’m like a ravenous animal, but she’s my wife, right? What’s wrong with craving your own wife? I will be gentle with her. Very gentle and slow.

She drops her head as though my attention makes her feel uncomfortable. Fuck. Whatever I do is wrong, wrong and again wrong. I’m running out of the ideas of how to make friends with my own wife.

I hook the back of her neck and tip her face up to mine, brushing her lips with mine.

“Brianna, I want you to look at me all the time,” I say firmly.

She tilts her head, surprise flickering in her wide eyes. Well, maybe a rougher approach will be better.

Samael sits next to me and throws his arm over my back. I steel myself as chills go down my spine. We killed together; we got drunk together. Now, he’s my father-in-law and he’s trying to be nice. But, that doesn’t wipe away the aura of ruthlessness around him. He’s the king here. The most feared man in this tiny part of the world.

His hand pats my shoulder. “Take care of my daughter properly, son.”

“I will,” I say. “The best I can.”

“Your brother has solved the problem with that little angel of his at last. Good. I checked her, you know.”

The hair on my back rises on end at his words then anger bubbles inside me. He never stops using people.

“Sive will be very useful to our family,” Samael continues. “It’s convenient that things are how they are.” He stands up and invites Brianna to dance.

My wife kisses my cheek and saunters towards the dance floor. Samael and she give a real dance performance. I’m impressed with the fever they exude into the air.

Axel and Sive join me at the table. My brother looks like something has taken ten years off his face. He pulls Sive onto his lap and leans towards me.

  “Enjoying your wedding?” he asks.

  “Yes,” I say.

“She is beautiful,” Sive signs. “And very kind.”

“Give her a good fuck tonight and everything
will be fine,” Axel says, laying his hand on my shoulder.

  “I will,” I say.

I will invest two hundred percent of effort in making that part of our marriage enjoyable for my wife.

Sive covers Axel’s mouth with her fingers and he bites them, making her giggle then he wraps his arms around her as though he wants to hide her in his embrace from the whole world. It’s like I’m watching a fawn being embraced by a lion. Except the fawn has tamed the lion. The beauty of those two people together brings both joy and pain into my heart.

  “Thank you,” Axel mumbles.

  “What?” I bark.

“Thank you for what you did for Sive and me,” Axel says.

“Fuck off, Axel. Take care of Sive properly and we’re even.”

He nods at me and for the first time in my life, I can see that he really respects me as his equal instead of treating me like a child.

  “Nervous?” Sive signs to me.

  “Very nervous,” I sign back.

Axel hasn’t learnt how to sign yet so only Sive can understand me and I can afford to be honest with her. She tilts her head and looks at me with concern.

  “Smile,” I sign.

Sive flashes me her beautiful smile and melds into my brother’s chest.

Axel’s face lights up like never before. I’ve never seen him so happy. So human and so normal. So relieved.

I visit the bathroom and return to the table. The chill of the night’s air creeps under my shirt as I take a seat beside my wife.

Axel raises a bottle of vodka to me.

“No, thanks,” I say as Axel grins at me.

“Why aren’t you drinking?” my wife asks. “We should get drunk and get this circus over with.”

“I want to be fit,” I say.

I want to pleasure my wife tonight so the alcohol is a no-no.

  “Fit for what?” Brianna asks.

“For fucking my beautiful wife,” I whisper into her ear, kissing her cheek.

Our arms touch and her body shivers against mine.

Fuck. I truly hope she’s not repulsed by me or something. I want a real marriage and I really want her. She seems like an honest girl to me. And yes, I have a crush on her. It’s like everything is right about her—her appearance, her scent and her mysterious personality.

“Can we sneak out to yours?” Brianna asks. “To have more privacy?” She kisses my cheek.

That’s a good plan. I want to growl in excitement. My cock aches for her pussy.

Samael has renovated the guesthouse in the garden for us, but I’m going to buy something in town. Now I’m taking my wife to Axel’s place. We’ll kiss, touch, laugh. Fuck for the whole night. And then for the whole day.

Brianna kisses my cheek again and I realise that I’ve turned into a shaky mush. No woman has ever done that to me. Maybe Sive a bit but it’s different with her. I want to protect Sive like I would protect my little sister.

With Brianna, it’s so much more.

  I want to love her.

  I want to respect her.

I want to fuck her like an animal.

  Chapter 3

  Zane

We sneak out of the garden and jump on my bike. Brianna clings to me as though I’m an anchor for her. As though she feels safe with me. A warm sensation rushes through my chest and centres on my dick. I like being a husband. My dick hardens further at the prospect of fucking the cute chick behind me.

We roar through the cool navy air of the night for an hour. The stars twinkle at me as I park the bike in front of Axel’s garage. Brianna holds my hand for support and jumps off.

She saunters in front of me and I move closer to her, wrapping my arms around her from behind. It feels amazing. She smells of vanilla and roses. The tantalising particles of her delicate musk make me feel insane. Her horrible dress scratches my face and I can’t wait to rip that gloomy garment off her.

“You are so beautiful,” I murmur.

Brianna takes a sharp breath as though she will burst into tears at any moment.

What the fuck am I doing wrong? I’m trying to be nice and bite my tongue each time a swear word forms on my mouth. I’m trying to be gentle with her. I haven’t gotten drunk. I haven’t groped her. Yet.

But she’s just sadder and sadder.

“It isn’t that bad, is it, Brianna?”

  “You’re a decent man, I must admit.”

  “You don’t even know me.”

“You don’t know me either. At all.”

Not yet. But that will change soon. I’m going to explore every inch of her lush body. Then we will talk. I will invite her to a nice restaurant, buy her flowers, cook for her, clean our house. Look after our kids. Carry her in my arms so she won’t get tired. I hope she’ll smile at me in return.

I open the door of Axel’s house for her. “I know you enough. I will rip that horrible gown off you and then I will fuck the hottest woman on the face of the earth. And guess what? She is my wife. Wife.”

The word ‘wife’ fills my heart with a sense of beauty and joy.

Brianna sighs like she’s exhausted and I wonder whether I should touch her or not. She turns around and those seductive lips of hers part. I stop thinking rationally. My mouth covers hers and euphoria clouds my head. She tastes of orange juice and mint. And of something else I don’t quite grasp. It’s like a gust of the wind on the beach and the sweetness of vineyards early in the morning. Like the mystery of the rainforest and the consuming power of a supernova. Total madness.

I don’t want to scare her so I kiss her gently, but her mouth opens wider for me. It seems like she’s enjoying the kiss. This is all I needed to know.

We move across the living area and I slam her on the wall. It’s dark but I can see that her eyes are burning fiercely like two flares. My hands gather her dress up to her waist and I squeeze her round ass cheek. I want to smack that tempting ass of hers. Not once. A few times until it’s slightly red. My fingers explore her body further to discover that she has a pair of lace thong panties on. My palm runs up and down her outer thigh and my inner animal growls in excitement. Her skin is soft and flawless. My wife is absolute perfection. Now I want to touch her tits. I kiss her deeper, more urgently as my body presses against hers and she wraps her thigh around my waist. My mouth moves down her neck and I palm her breast. My wife’s perfect full breast. Delicious.

I’m mad about her. Fuck. I will treat her like a queen, give her whatever she asks for. Give her the whole of me.

It’s crazy. I never expected to meet a woman and fall so instantly for her. So violently. So entirely.

“Beautiful,” I murmur as my mouth grazes along her neck and my hands stroke her breasts. “And mine. My beautiful wife.”

Brianna’s body shakes. She takes a rapid breath and something jabs my arm.

I pull away from her as a strange dizziness fills my head like a thickening cloud.

  “What the fuck,” I mumble.

My speech is slow. Everything inside me is slow.

“I’m really sorry,” Brianna says, her voice like a disjointed echo.

“What did you do?” My fingers close around a small syringe stuck in my arm.

I remove it and fall down on my bottom. My mind darkens like more and more layers of a fog are engulfing it.

“You will sleep for a few hours,” Brianna says, her voice wavering.

  “You drugged me?”

  “I had to.”

“I’ll be a good husband to you.”

I want to get up but my body feels like a piece of rock. No sensation comes from my limbs. I’m just a weakening stream of consciousness. Nothing more.

  “I know, Zane.”

“Why don’t you want to give me a chance?”

“I can’t, Zane. Just try to understand.”

A sudden explosion of a white light fills my head then everything goes blank.

My first conscious thought is that my surroundings spin around me as though I’m on a carous
el. The ceiling and walls drift to me and from me like I’m inside somebody’s enormous lungs. Voices come to me like whispers.

  “Zane, wake up, bro.”

I can’t feel my body. My mind whirls in weightlessness like I’m a pure consciousness.

  “Zane.”

  I recognise Axel’s voice.

“Where is my wife?” I mumble as my glance meets Ma’s eyes. Her gaze is full of worry.

“You have no wife,” Axel says. “That bitch—“

  “Axel,” Ma hisses.

“Ma,” Axel says with anger. “She drugged him and didn’t even deliver the right dose. She almost killed him. I will kill that fucking ungrateful bitch, I swear.”

I raise my hand to punch my brother in the face but it collapses lifeless.

My face turns to the side and I notice Dad and Sive.

“Where is my wife?” I growl.

“Rest, sweetie,” Ma says into my ear and strokes my forehead. “Everything will be fine.”

“Where is my wife?” I jerk my body up, but a wave of nausea pins me down to the mattress.

“Don’t think about it now, sweetie.” Ma strokes my head. “Rest. Everything will be fine.”

  Brianna

  Sabrina Atkinson, my new identity.

I breathe in the scent of fish and seaweed as the wind smacks me in the face and rustles my hair. The sun’s rays burn the nape of my neck.

I left the catacombs of my old life far behind me. I was dead there like everybody else, though they were not aware of that.

I inhale the air of freedom. I exhale the air of goodness. Excitement surges through my veins.

My eyes sweep over the deck of the trans-Atlantic passenger ship heading towards Europe. My old life turns into a blurry memory.

I will find a job, a nice flat to rent, a kitten to take care of. Far from my father, his dark secrets and his bulls. Far from the Shadow Wolves MC.

I just need the wound on my heart to heal. Each time Zane’s face flashes through my head that wound reopens, burns, and fills me with yearning. It hurts so much.

I’m madly in love with my husband. I just can’t be his wife. That’s the problem.
