In the Mood for Love Page 23

by Harper Bliss

Then, she glues herself to me, her lips finding my ears again. “You’re magnificent, Ruby,” she whispers. “Jesus christ.”

We lie there for a while, Jill on top of me—how fitting—until my breath comes slower again, and the last tingle has disappeared from my muscles. Will she tell Charlotte about this later? Will they get aroused at the memory of me in their bed? Am I really spending the night here?

When Jill slips off me and I turn around, I feel like a different person. As though what she just did to me, altered me somehow. When I leave Mrs. Banks’s house later, it will not be as the same Ruby Cliff who entered. Not because of Amber, and how they wanted to take my mind off her, but because of what they’ve given me. Because of how, when they let me step into their bed, they allowed me to step out of my tortured, one-track mind. On top of that, the passion I shared with these two women, tells me—once and for all—that what Amber and I had between us, was never enough to go the distance. Not if my piano teacher can make me feel like this.

“Are you okay?” Jill asks, caressing my cheek with the back of her hand.

“I’m not sure okay is the right word.” I giggle and shuffle closer toward her because I can’t get enough of her warmth. “But definitely much better than before our lesson.”

“I’m glad.” I can’t believe this same, sweet person, just minutes ago, claimed my ass. On the pillow, she brings her face closer to mine and presses a kiss on the tip of my nose. “How about a nice hot bath?”

“That would be lovely.” As appealing as it sounds, I want to stay in bed with Jill a little while longer though. But then there’s a knock on the open door and Charlotte appears in the doorframe. How long has she been there? Was she watching all this time? The thought sparks up a fresh pulse in my clit, reverberating all the way to my rear entrance.

“Hey.” Charlotte’s voice is soft. “Shall I order pizza?”

The question sounds so extremely silly to me in that moment, I burst out into a chuckle. This sudden display of domesticity sucks a good part of the sexual energy straight from the room. Will we all be hunched around the TV in thirty minutes, munching pepperoni?

“What do you say?” Jill looks at me expectantly. I can leave at any moment, but I get the distinct impression neither one of them wants me to.

  “Pepperoni for me, please.”

“I ran you a bath, Ruby,” Charlotte says, leaving me with the idea that this is a well-practiced Saturday evening routine of theirs. “Hop in now and the pizza will be here when you come out.”

I can’t help but shake my head. “Thanks,” I say, as I start to slip out of their bed.

A few instants later, when I sink into the spacious bath tub, my exhausted muscles thankful to be enveloped by hot water, I’m still chuckling at the strangeness of the situation, but mostly, I’m just happy because of how good I feel inside and, wordlessly, I thank Amber for urging me to take piano lessons.

  Once in a Lifetime

#1 Bestseller in Lesbian Romance on Amazon

Leigh Sterling and Jodie Whitehouse share a deep love and extreme passion in the bedroom. But when Jodie’s desire for a child becomes inevitable, it clashes with Leigh’s career ambitions as well as with her lack of maternal instinct, and forces them apart.

They go through life separately and, as years go by, their attempts at other relationships fail to measure up to the power of the union they once shared. When they see each other again eleven years after their painful breakup, an opportunity arises to explore if they really were each other’s one true love.
