“Muskrat.” He chuckled at her disgusted expression and returned his attention to the radio. “Finally.”
Classic country crooned through the radio.
She tapped her fingers on the steering wheel.
“Cinnamon, if you have a question, spill it.” He reclined against the door, watching her.
“I was in your cabin to gather your gear and I saw all your things.”
He nodded. “Figured as much.” His voice dropped low. “You’re going to be in there a lot.”
This smile she couldn’t fight back. After they’d claimed each other, he promised to keep doing it until he claimed her everywhere.
“Your crafts were spectacular and…they’re important to you.” Her fingers continued tapping and she shifted in her seat. “Are they something you’d like to teach me?”
His brows shot up, but he answered without hesitation. “Of course. Anything you want. You might have to trade a pound of bacon for lessons, though.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’ll chop it into the quinoa. You sure you don’t mind?”
“I don’t mind and Ina won’t need to come back and haunt me for not passing my knowledge on.” He shot her a devilish grin. “Besides, I heard about your porcupine showdown and I want to see if you know your way around a quill.”
“One, fuck you, those really hurt. And two”—her smile faded—“I don’t really have any family traditions to pass down.” She lifted a shoulder in a shrug she hoped was nonchalant. “I would be honored to learn yours.”
“Ours. And you do have traditions. Human ones, and I want to learn them.”
When he said something like that…it was more than she could handle. She spotted a dirt road that turned off the highway.
He peered out the window as she exited and drove a half mile before stopping. “What’s going on—whoa.” His pupils dilated and his lust rose to match her own.
“What was that you said about claiming me everywhere?”
