Everything Changes Page 11

by R F Greenwood

“The sexual jokes have to stop. I’d rather not go see my mother on her birthday with a raging hard on” I laugh.

“I’m going now” I shout to my brothers. I hear them mumble something back and shrug.

I close the door and walk to his bike. He hands me a helmet.

“No bag?” he asks before he gets on. I shake my head and slip the helmet on my head.

He sits on the bike and puts his own one on. Now that is a sexy sight.

“Are you going to get on the bike or are you going to stare at me the whole time?” It comes out muffled with the helmet it on. I shake my head and climb on behind him.

“Have you ever done this before?”

  “Nope” he nods his head.

“Wrap your arms around me” I nod and comply quickly. Any chance to touch him I’ll take it. Cassie ‘friends’ my brain seems to getting the wrong signals. I can only be friends with him!

“Get ready, baby”, he says as he starts the bike. He called me baby… he’s never called me baby. He’s called me babe. I’m starting to sound like a lovesick teenager. Fuck sake.

The ride to his parents is nice. I can feel the chill a little but I’m concentrating on turning with him.

Never been on a bike but I know what I’ve got to do.

When we arrive at his parents, my legs shake when I climb off the bike. I take my helmet off and rest in on the seat.

“You ok? The vibrations from the bike mess your legs up for a couple of seconds”

“You don’t say” I reply sarcastically while I hold on to the bike.

Once I feel my legs go back to normal I stand up properly.

“Sarcasm is like a second language to you isn’t it” he laughs and shakes his head.

“Don’t know what you mean, ice”, he smiles.

“You’re doing it again” I roll my eyes.

“You ready to meet my family?” I nod once and take a deep breath. “They’re not that bad”

Easy for him to say, that’s his family.

“It was probably harder me meeting your two older brothers than this will be for you”

He’s probably right. And why am I freaking out so much? It’s only a ‘friend meeting another friends parents’. Not like we’re getting married. Nope, because he’s already getting married to the she- devil.

“Ok, let’s go” I nod. He gets his mums presents from the little bag on the side. He puts his hand on the small of my back and we walk to the front door.

He opens the door and pushes me inside.

“Mum! I’m here I’ve got someone I want you to meet”, he shouts. A small woman with dark hair comes bustling out what I’m presuming to be the kitchen.

“You’re here!” she says and wraps her arms around his waist.

She would never get her arms around his shoulders unless he bent down. She is about the same height as me.

You would never have thought that she was his mum. She looks too young to have a 23 year old son.

“And who’s this?” she asks when she steps away from him.

“This is my friend Cassie. Cassie this is Helen my mum”, she smiles at me and wraps me in a hug too. I hug her back.

“You’re so pretty! I love your hair” Oh crap I forgot to take it out of the loose plait.

I smooth down my hair and take the hair band out. I run my fingers through it and push it so it falls down my back.

“I only put it like that so it’s easy to take out when I take the helmet off” I smile.

She turns and stares at Tyler.

“You put her on the back of your bike? What’s wrong with your car?” It’s like she is scolding him.

“She wanted to go on my bike, ma. And nothing is wrong with my car. Are we going to get out of the hall way now?”

“Of course, would you like a drink, honey?” she asks me.

“I’ll have a coffee if you’re making one, if not I’ll just have some water” I say. I see Tyler bite his lip. I narrow my eyes at him.

“Nonsense I’ll do you coffee! No doubt this son of mine will want one too. How do you take it?”

“White with two sugar’s”, she grins.

“So glad you have taste buds. Don’t know how he drinks it black”, she shakes her head and walks back in the kitchen.

“I’ll have coffee if you’re making one, if not water”, he says in a fake girl voice.

I elbow him the ribs and he grunts.

“Don’t take the piss out of me, bitch”

“A woman that doesn’t fall down at your feet I like her”, an older man says

“Thanks dad” Tyler smiles. I now see where Tyler gets his looks from. They look so much alike just his dad has a couple of grey hairs.

“So who is this?” he stands in front of us.

Tyler definitely gets his height from his dad.

“Dad, this is my friend Cassie. Cassie this is Robert my dad” His dad holds his hand out to shake mine. I put my hand in his then he pulls me in to a big bear hug.

“We don’t do handshakes, darlin’” It’s like cuddling Tyler. Big ,warm and soft.

“Are you going to put her down, dad? Mum will kick your arse soon” Tyler chuckles.

“Your mum can’t get her leg up that high, son” he jokes and lets me go.

“I heard that!” his mum shouts from the kitchen.

“I love you, honey!” he shouts back and grins.

She mumbles something back and I laugh.

We walk in to the living room and sit down on the sofa.

Robert went in the kitchen to kiss up as he said.

“See, they’re not so bad are they?” Tyler says nudging my shoulder.

“I haven’t met your brothers yet”

  He chuckles.

“Your right hold that thought” he winks.

A couple of minutes later his mum comes in with two cups of coffee and some biscuits. His dad follows with two more cups.

“So where is your fiancée? Finally seen the light or is it true you are now marrying her?” his mum says when she sits down on an armchair to the left of me.

“Do we have to do this today, mum?” Tyler groans.

“I was only asking a question”, she says and picks up her drink. I feel quite sorry for her. Having no girls just living in a house of five men.

“I don’t know where she is”, he sighs.

“You’ve lost her?” Helen sounds sceptical.

“I think she is out with her friend” she nods and takes a sip of her tea. She doesn’t really seem that interested where she is.

“We got you a present” We? I helped pick it out. I didn’t want any recognition for it.

“Oh you didn’t have to do that, and is it we as in you and her or you and Cassie?” she sounds like she was spitting the word out ‘her’ in distaste.

“Me and Cassie, mum. Cassie actually picked it out” I look at him and purse my lips.

“Oh that’s wonderful!” she says. Tyler stands and hands her the little gift bag.

He sits back beside me and we watch her take out the wrapped present.

“Oh my god you got me a kindle!” she squeals. She gets up from the sofa and gives me a tight squeeze.

“Thank you, thank you. I was thinking about getting one of these”, she says and lets me go.

  She hugs Tyler.

“Oh thank you my sweet boy!” she kisses his check and forehead.

“Did you hear Robert? I’ve got a kindle!”

“Yes dear, I was in the room when you opened it” And that’s where Tyler gets the sarcasm from. What does he actually get from his mother?

  “You have another present mum”

“Oh, of course”, she says grinning. She picks the other one out and opens it.

“I have a case for my kindle too!” she grins. “Thank you both so much! It might not look so much like a library now!”

I look around and see the books she has in the bookcase in the corner. I only recognise 3 books and that
s the Fifty Shades Trilogy.

“Do you have one of these Cassie?” his mum asks.

“I do, but Tyler has it at the moment”, she smiles.

“Go on shoo, you men can do whatever, I’m stealing Cassie”, she says getting up and pulling me towards the kitchen. I grab my coffee before I’m too far away and follow her.

I look at Tyler and he’s grinning. I smile back and disappear into the kitchen.

I help his mum set it up and tell her how to buy and search for new books. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be. She picked it up quite easily

“Would you suggest any books?” she asks when it’s all up and running.

“I’ve got loads. I’ll go for another trilogy at the moment. So try the ‘This Man’ series. It’s really good and you’ll love Jesse Ward”

She nods and puts it in and finds the books, she buys them and goes back to the home screen.

“So I start with ‘This Man’ then ‘Beneath This Man’ and then ‘This Man Confessed’?” I nod and she pulls up the first one.

“Mum we’re here!” I hear shouted from the front door.

“I’m in here”, she shouts back but doesn’t look up from the kindle, I smile she’s going to love it.

“Hey, ma” Three men come in the first one is the one that talks.

“Oh, hello and who are you?” The third one slides next to me.

  “I’m Cassie” I smile.

“I’m Mickey. I’ve never seen you around here before”, he says chucking an arm around my shoulders.

“She’s mine” Tyler says from the doorway. His?

“You’ve already got a fiancée” One of the others point out, Mickey still hasn’t taken his arm from around my shoulders.

His mum makes a noise but keeps her head in her kindle.

“You got mum a kindle?” Mickey asks.

“Cassie picked it out” Tyler says.

“So I should introduce you Jaime, Sam and Mickey this Is Cassie. Cassie these are my brothers” He points to them all. The first one is his older brother. Jaime and Mickey and Sam are twins. I remember now.

“It’s nice to meet you” I smile at them all. Surprisingly they all look pretty similar.

“The pleasure is all mine” Jaime winks. Tyler growls and we all laugh.

“So do I get a kiss or anything mum?” she smiles and begrudgingly puts the kindle down.

“Hello baby” She hugs him the same as she did Tyler. I’m guessing she got use to not being able to wrap her arms around their shoulders.

“Hi, mum I didn’t get you a kindle because I’m not a kiss arse like Tyler but I got you some flowers”, he says.

“I’m not a kiss arse I just brought her something I know she will love”, he grunts and sits next to me. He flicks Mickey’s arm off my shoulder and pulls me into his side.

  “Yeah right” Sam scoffs.

“Don’t be horrible to your brother. I love what he and Cassie got me” she scolds her children. Tyler has a smug smile on his face.

She hugs Mickey and Sam too and they give her some chocolates and a gift card.

“Would any of you like a coffee?” she asks. They all agree and she picks my cup and raises her eyebrows asking if I want another. I nod my head and smile.

  ****

“I don’t know why I didn’t read it sooner!” his mum says when we’re in the kitchen alone, the men are in the living room watching football.

“You’re enjoying the book then?” I smile. She grins and nods her head. She turns away to make another coffee.

“Do you mind if I use your toilet?” Four cups of coffee in two hours with no pee breaks, I’m surprised my bladder hasn’t burst and she’s making another one.

Don’t think I’ll be sleeping tonight.

She points me in the direction of the bathroom. I make my way and close the door behind me. Once I’ve done my business and washed my hands, I just open the door to come out when I’m pushed back inside. I’m turned around so my back is against the door and I’m breathing hard, more from shock I look up at Tyler to see he’s smiling.

“What the hell are you doing Ty?” I whisper shout at him.

“I wanted to see you on your own. You’re normally huddled up with my mum. It’s either that or one of my brothers are trying to charm you”, he scowls.

“Hey, you brought me here. You said you wanted me to meet them” I shrug, I like his mum. She’s funny and we’re talking about books. As for his brothers, their charm is funnier than it is appealing. I think their doing it to grate on Tyler’s nerves and I’m guessing their succeeding.

“I knew my family would like you but not that much. I haven’t been with you all night” he pouts. He pouted? Wow.

“Are you really pouting at me?” I ask trying to hold back my laughter not that he doesn’t look cute pouting but he hasn’t done it in front of me before.

“Don’t make my tickle you”, he says with a smirk.

“I’ve already told you. I will pee on you next time just to teach you a lesson not to do it again” He laughs and buries his face in the side of my neck. His warm breath blowing down my neck makes me shiver.

“You’re different from the others”, he says, it comes out muffled from my neck.

I frown, Tyler obviously had enough of bending down to put his face in my neck straightens but takes me with him. He urges my legs so they wrap around his waist.

“What are you doing?” he still has his head buried in my neck.

“You smell good, but you’re small. So I thought I’d make it easier on myself” he shrugs a shoulder.

“I’m starting to think your hiding from me” he shakes his head. “And I’ve told you before there isn’t anything wrong with being small” I smile to myself. It does feel good like this but I can feel he’s hard and we’re going to get ourselves horny.

“I should really get back your mum is probably wondering if I’ve fallen down the toilet” Tyler shakes his head and takes it out of my neck. Finally!

“I want to show you my room first” I smile at the thought of Tyler’s childhood bedroom.

  “When did you move out?”

“6 months ago…” I look at him in shock. “I’m joking, I’m joking. I moved out when I was about 19. I was making a decent wage” he shrugs.

I nod we stare at each other for a couple of seconds.

“You really need to put me down, if you’re going to show me your room”

“But I like holding you, your small compared to me”

“Well I guess I got the short gene. Not that the men in your family did” I shake my head.

He finally puts me down he adjusts his jeans and opens the door for us. Jaime is waiting on the other side, he smirks.

“Quickie in the bathroom! Tut tut tut, little brother” He waggles his finger. Little brother! I know he is younger than him but definitely not smaller than him.

“We were just talking” I try.

“Mm, right Cassie you’ve got a bit of something right there” he points to my neck. I move my hand to wipe it. He better not of dribbled on me.

Tyler touches my arm and shakes his head. I look at him then back to his brother who is trying to hide his laughter but failing.

I huff out a breath and march my way to the kitchen.

“Good going, douche. You pissed her off. I’m the one going to get it in the neck now” I hear Tyler grumble.

“Well apparently she got it in the neck” I don’t need to turn around to know he winked.

I roll my eyes and walk back in the kitchen. Helen is still at the table reading her new toy. I sit down and she lifts her eyes to mine.

“You ok, honey? You look a little flushed” I smile softly.

“Just hot I guess” he smiles.

“I’ve got some more coffee over there if you want some” she nods her head over to the side. I get up and pick my cup up. I turn around and see Tyler and Jaime standing by the door way.

  Sorry. Tyler
mouths. I narrow my eyes but don’t say anything. His brother winks at me and turns and walks into the living room.

Tyler walks over near me and takes his cup.

“He likes you, he thinks you’re funny. He was only messing around, babe” Tyler whispers to me.

I nod my head but still say nothing.

He sighs and walks into the living room maybe I will make him sweat a little. I smile and sit back down at the table.

“You ready to go, babe?” Tyler asks an hour later. I nod and I take my cup over to the sink then go get my stuff.

We walk to the door after I got a huge cuddle from all the men in his family.

Jaime apologised and said I’m good for his brother, better than Georgina. I smile. Not really hard is it.

Helen and I exchanged numbers she said she needed someone to talk to about Jesse. I laughed, and gave it to her.

She hugs me and thanks me for the kindle when Tyler cleared his throat.

“I’m the one who bought it, mum”, he says and smiles. She laughs.

“Of course you did, darling. It’s ok I was getting round to the hugging and thanking you too”

Once everyone had said goodbye me and Tyler walked to his bike.

“See it wasn’t so bad, was it? Now I can take you back to my place”

“Your place, I thought I was going home” He hands me my helmet.

“Nope, I’m kidnapping you for the night. You can stay in my bed for a change” I sigh. I’ll be surrounded by the smell of him. It sounds heavenly.

I put my helmet on over my head and climb on the bike after him. The air has got a little cooler but as soon as I get on the bike and press myself against Tyler I’m not cold anymore. I don’t understand how he could be so warm.

We arrive at Tyler’s a little while later. The outside doesn’t look too bad.

He leads me inside after I’ve got my legs again. He flicks on a light. And I see a very manly living room.

A black leather sofa and an arm chair that looks like it’s a recliner. A huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall.

The walls are a dark blue-ish colour, there isn’t any pictures hanging off the wall. A couple of magazines on the side table next to the arm chair. And the floor is laminated.

This place basically screams a bachelors place.

“You want a drink?” he asks as he makes his way to the kitchen.
