He went to his desk, opened a drawer and pulled out a large envelope. As he walked by his secretary’s desk to the elevator, informing her he would be unavailable for the rest of the day, he swore he heard Mrs. Grandholm sigh in relief.

Dean had been a lion with a thorn in his paw. An ass. He was not fit to live with—not since he’d gotten a close up look at something he’d always wanted and had it snatched away.

When the elevator doors opened on the twenty-third floor he made a beeline for the supervisor’s office and sent the kowtowing man out of the room with specific instructions. Then he stood beside the man’s desk. Waiting.

“You wanted to speak to me, sir?”

Dean’s hands tightened on the envelope and his throat went dry. He was hanging by a thread. “Ms. Charles, please sit down. There’s something I need you to see.”

She sat down in the small chair in front of the desk and Dean stood over her, unceremoniously dumping out the contents of the envelope on top of it.

Sara gasped and Dean was riveted once again to the photographs he’d developed of them together. The black-and-white images were profoundly intimate and erotic. Her bound body was perfectly framed, her face lit by the sunlight coming through the window and locked in an expression of passion so beautiful it took his breath away.

“Why are you showing me these?” she whispered. “Why here?”

Why now? The unspoken question lingered in the air.

“I told you the camera didn’t lie.” He sifted through the pictures, forcing himself to look away from Sara’s form and study his own. The mortal man who’d captured and seduced a goddess. “Look at him, Sara. Look at his face.”

Dean could see it clearly. The man in the photograph was looking at his lover with need and desire and admiration. Even as he took her his expression was almost one of disbelief, as if she would disappear at any moment. As if she were a dream.

  He was in love.

Sara shook her head and stood abruptly. “If that’s all, sir, I should get back to work.”

“I have a fantasy,” he started softly, his words stopping her stumbled flight to the door. “I’ve had it for a while, but you ended our month before we could fulfill it.”

  She didn’t turn around. “Dean…”

“Don’t you want to know what it is? It involves you, and it would require both of us to break a few of our rules to make it happen. Indulge me, Sara.”

  Say yes.

  “What is it?”

Dean walked over to her, cupping her shoulders with his hands and moaning softly at the contact. It felt like forever since he’d touched her. “In my fantasy, I ask you to extend our relationship to include deep tissue massages, boring charity balls and long, sex-filled flights to Venice…potentially some jewelry that you’ll be too nice to turn down…definitely beer and pizza in the park.”

She stiffened at that, but Dean couldn’t stop. “In my fantasy you’re there in the morning when I wake up, and you’re curling up against my side after hours of lovemaking before I fall asleep… And occasionally you show up wearing nothing but white lace panties in my office when one of us has to work late.”

Her laugh sounded a little like a sob and she covered her mouth with her hand. Dean whirled her around to face him. “Sara? Is this too much? Have we finally found your limit? The one thing you don’t want to do with me?”

She dropped her hand, worry evident in her eyes. “For how long?”

“How long have you got?” he joked with a rasp in his throat. She took a step back and his grip tightened. “No amount of time with you will make up for these last two weeks without you, Sara—they were fucking miserable. I know it’s not my turn, but give me this fantasy. Say yes.”

Her shimmering green eyes were dark as she studied him. And then he saw it. A spark of excitement. A smile. “I have one condition.”

He held back his victorious shout. Barely. “I’m listening.”

“We need to start this fantasy of yours as soon as possible. And you’re never allowed to show those pictures to anyone but me. Okay, two conditions.”

Dean kissed her with all the relief and need and pain that had been locked up inside him since she’d walked away. She loved him. He could feel it. And before this night was over he was going to get her to admit it.

He pulled back. “Technically you still work for Warren Industries.”

She moaned and dropped her forehead on his chest. “Damn it. Yes. For seven hours and forty-five minutes.”

If he had his way, it would be much, much longer. But only if it was what she wanted. They could talk about it later.

Sara shrieked when he bent down, gripped her hips and threw her over his shoulder. “We should hurry then. I plan on breaking company policy at least seven times by then. Eight if I’m being honest—which I know you love—because the first time might not last that long.”

He gathered the pictures back in the envelope and handed it her, his arm tightening on her wriggling thighs. “Hang on to something, Sara.”

The walk to the elevator was swift and so silent Dean could hear the clocks ticking. When the elevator door opened he stepped inside, disappointed. “No clapping? Cell phone cameras? Nothing?”

Sara chuckled against his back breathlessly. “Accountants are boring. Didn’t you get the memo?”

He lowered her to her feet and opened the panel to enter his security code. Then he dropped to his knees in front of her. “I beg to differ, Ms. Charles. Grab onto the railing and allow me to show you how wrong you are. It is your turn.”

Dean pushed up her skirt when she obeyed and, with a growl, tore her stockings and red lace underwear. “Someone could see us,” he looked up at her, challenge in his eyes.

Sara slid her fingers through his hair. “Let them see. I can’t wait, Dean. I’ve missed you. I want you to.”

“Are you sure?” He watched her closely, asking for more than this ride. Asking for everything.

He could see it in her eyes. Awareness. Passion. Love. “Yes, Dean. I’m sure.”

  “Say it again.”

“Yes…oh, yes, Mr. Warren!” She groaned when he spread the tattered fabric and traced her sex with his tongue. “Oh God, yes.”

“Whatever you want, Sara Charles,” he rasped. “Anything.”
