Cain looked at Toni, he was more than pleased; he wanted to do cartwheels across the grass. Toni had not married nor was Vince her lover or boyfriend. He wanted to shout for joy. His heart was nearly at a breaking point as she began her story, now it was bursting with hope and happiness. With a huge smile on his face, Cain asked Toni,

Cain messaged. Toni jumped into Cain’s arms and gave him a huge kiss.

"Thank you, I love you so much, I thought the truth would have destroyed what we have begun, what is growing between us. Let’s continue to play this game out, hopefully, find who we are looking for. Free all the players stuck in the game, plus, we get to make love, lots and lots of times, are you ready to do your bit?" Toni said. Giving Cains penis a long rub through his trousers. "Coming big boy," Toni laughed. Swinging Toni around a few times before letting her feet hit the ground gave her an equally huge kiss,

"I’m more than ready, willing and able, especially for you," Cain replied. "Nope, not even close! But you could easily persuade me."

"Are you two lovebirds finished, we have more Sluggers to kill," Sophie said as she stood in the doorway to the wooden tower, feeling pleased that Cain and Toni had sorted out something she could tell had been keeping them slightly distant.

Damn, If anyone tries to pull them apart, they will be lucky to only lose the pulling hand. More likely their lives. And I have a part in their growing relationship.

Carefully they climbed the stairs inside the tower, the wooden stairs made creaking sounds when they put their full weight on them. Sophie who still was the point, reached the launching platform first scuttled over to the waist high steel mesh reinforced barrier.

Climbing up behind his women it pleased Cain looking at the view of both their behinds as they climbed the stairs then scuttled over to the wooden barrier. Cain explained to his women the golden rule with shooting as a sniper. Pull the trigger, like a gentle caress as you breathe out. The same gentleness of touching a child’s face. Whatever you do, you must not jerk the trigger or pull the trigger when you breathe in, because you will be lucky if you come within ten yards of your target.

After listening to Cain’s instructions, they prepared their G3s, fitting the optics and suppressors. Cain made three holes in the wooden barrier with this combat knife, two for prone shooting and one for a kneeling position. Sophie and Toni took the prone positions.

  Fish Shoot

"Aim for the players’ heads. If you cannot get a clean head shot, then limbs especially legs should be your second targeting choice. Don’t shoot at a player’s body mass as they will probably have body armour protection." Cain said, speaking to Toni and Sophie.

Once ready Cain looked at the group of seven Sluggers clan players, all knelt at the side of the road in a loose circle. Cain promptly asked Enoch to tag them while he made a list of their health. Getting the tag details back from Enoch Cain made a table with the Sluggers data and Map Identifiers, for Toni and Sophie.

Cain shared the table with map tag identifiers, in a party chat message. As they read the table they worked out a shooting plan. Knowing her own growing power, Sophie persuaded them to take out the Mages first. She told Cain and Toni about her skills at that level. Depending on the skills they had they could be one person armies, more powerful than a warrior or cleric.

The shooting plan they worked out would have to closely followed from the list Cain wrote from their discussions on a sheet of paper, holding it in place on the wooden tower’s floor with two spare Glocks.

They each looked at the list, fixing their first two targets. They were each happy as they shared a team hug. Toni began the countdown from three, 3… 2… 1… They each opened fire, Cain hit the male mage in the back of his head, the bullet exited between the Mage’s eyes.

  Fatal hit: M16a: -739 (0/739)

Sophie’s first shot hit the female Mage on her jaw, blowing the front part of the chin away, doing one hundred and sixty damage. Toni’s shot hit the same Mage, entering just above and behind the left ear, the bullet exited from the Mage‘s right cheek.

  Fatal hit: M16b:- 556 (0/716)

Cain’s second shot hit the Cleric just below his chin and above his Adam’s apple, as he turned to see where the first round of shots originated. The bullet exited in the between the Cleric’s shoulder blades, severing his spinal cord.

  Fatal hit: C21a:- 889 (0/889)

By the time Cain had taken his second shot the remaining players had scrambled for cover, still unsure of the direction of the shots. The two Gladiators hugged the embankment the Warrior kept the kneeling stance sweeping for threats, while the Rogue ran down the road, jinking side to side.

Toni’s second shot missed the female Gladiator as she rolled to the side as Toni caressed the trigger, Sophie’s second shot hit the male Gladiator. Her shot seared the Gladiators neck as it smashed into his clavicle, shattering the bone into flying fragments which ripped apart the left lung. While the bullet punched through the liver, ripped apart the artery supplying the kidney.

  Fatal hit: G12a:- 998 (0/998)

With, the death of the Gladiator the remaining Sluggers finally pinpointed their shooting position. The remaining Gladiator knelt and targeted the tower, opening fire from their hip with a M249. No timed burst like Cain used, this was finger pulled hard against the trigger. The Warrior aimed his M2010 and fired aimed shots at the tower, making larger holes in the wooden structure than the M249. The Warrior and Gladiator shot with everything they had, the rogue had run over twenty yards before his clan returned fire.

Holes appeared in the wooden barrier and the roof, showering Sophie and Toni with wood fragments. Cain’s third shot crippled the Warrior in his right arm as the bullet blew out the Warrior’s elbow doing two hundred and eleven damage.

"Ladies, Stop the Rogue," Cain shouted over the noise of the firing, "take your time, clip him first to slow him down, then cripple him. we need to speak with one of them," Cain added. On hearing Cain’s instructions Sophie and Toni moved away from the barrier which was now becoming rather useless as cover.

The Warrior was screaming for someone to heal him at the edge of the road, the female Gladiator stopped firing and went to him, making her an easy target. Just as Cain focused on the Gladiator, she had pulled a large first aid kit out of her inventory and placed it on the Warrior. Cain’s shot hit her as she was bent over the Warrior, the bullet entered her head through the neck.

  Fatal hit: G12b:- 952 (0/952)

Cain heard Toni and Sophie shooting at the Rogue who was still running and zigzagging down the road towards the other group. Bringing his eyes back to his targets he aimed and shot the still screaming Warrior, putting him out of his agony, the bullet smashed into his head through the bridge of his nose, killing him instantly.

  Fatal hit: W14a:- 976 (0/1087)

Toni and Sophie each fired three times at the Rogue, their shots sending up puffs of road surface near the Rogue’s feet. On Toni’s fourth shot she hit the Rogue in the back of his right knee, shattering the knee joint completely, doing one hundred and forty-five damage, causing the rogue to crash face first to the road surface. He slid for four yards with his face bouncing off the road before crumpling to a stop.

Waiting until the Rouge stopped bouncing down the road on his face, Sophie took a deep breath then let it out slowly, gently caressing the trigger, her shot hit the Rogue as he was trying to stand. As Cain asked for Sophie delivered a disabling shot in the middle of his lower back, severing the spinal cord, doing three hundred and twenty-six damage.

"The Rogue won’t be moving far now," Sophie said.

"Let’s leave the looting, we have plenty of items in our inventories and enough Casino tokens for our needs. Our task here is interrogating the player. Ask them a few questions
before they either use two or three healing potions and continue their run or die before we get there. Let’s use the zip line and hurry over to his position, we need to come upon him from the rear so he won’t be able to get a shot off at us so easily," Cain said.

Toni held her scream of joy in as she sped down the zip line, descending from the tower to the landing pit at the bottom of the park. She picked up and fitted the line harness, leaping out from the tower first before Sophie had the chance. Landing safely at the bottom, Toni unclipped the harness before kneeling checking the area was clear.

Sophie was not as enthusiastic as Toni, as she wasn’t a fan of heights, but the feeling of the wind blowing through her hair was well worth the slight discomfort. Landing feet up bottom first in the sandpit Sophie slid to a halt. Toni was there to help her stand and get out of the harness.

Cain used the harness as a strap, jumping out with his powerful legs seven yards before throwing then looping the harness over the zip line. As he sped down the zip line, he felt like a little boy again for the few seconds of the ride. As he reached the sandpit, his feet hit the ground running helping him come to an elegant stop. Leaving the harness on the zip line Cain joined his women, they jogged to the park perimeter, dropped to the pavement before walking up behind the seriously wounded Rogue.

"Obviously the Rogue doesn’t have a first aid kit," said Sophie out loud. "That is bad planning on behalf of your clan, don’t you think? I mean what clan sends a member out without at least one minor first aid kit."

The Rogue tried turning to look behind him holding a Glock in his left hand as his right-hand had broken when he fell to the ground. Hearing a weapon being loaded, made him stop, "OK, I’m dead, just hurry and finish me so I can spawn again," the Rogue said.

"Depends, on how helpful you are," replied Toni. "What if you don’t tell us anything useful, what should we do with you then?"

Cain removed the temptation as he kicked the Glock out of the Rogues left hand before inelegantly rolling him over onto his back, bringing a scream of agony and protest from the Rogue’s mouth.

"There, you can see who you are talking to now. Would you like a drink of water? How about a first aid kit to lessen the pain? Answer our questions, and we’ll be on our way," Cain said.

One minor first aid kit, a flask of water and the Rogue answered all their questions. They found out the newly formed Sluggers clan were levelling up some new players who joined by killing NPCs. He said the clan leader was on his way to the nearest baseball ground to hand over a hot fit chick, a level sixteen Cleric who was a PvP player for the JW Killers clan.

She wouldn’t put out for our leader when we found her, exiting a control centre at the edge of the territory the Sluggers clan has claimed. So, our leader was taking her to hand her over and see if we can’t join up with the JW clan. They are like the largest PvP clan in Forsaken. Our leader thinks we would be better off joining with them. They have sixty or more members in this zone alone. While we have over twenty hardened players, more if the noobs pass their first killing of NPCs.

Cain turned to and asked Sophie if she had questions for the Rogue, the man turned his head to look at her and his life ended. Cain pinned his head to the road surface with a combat knife. "Hot chick who won’t put out. Seriously, what the fuck are these players doing. Do they think there are no consequences for their actions?"Cain said angrily.

It slightly shocked Toni and Sophie, the speed at which Cain acted, they were both internally debating how they were going to kill the Rogue themselves, Cain beat them to it. They both had feelings for Elise, obviously from that act so did Cain.

  Chapter 24

  Seeking Another Woman

"Well, it looks like we need to find a baseball ground," said Sophie. "There is no way are we going to leave Elise in their hands, who knows what they will do to her? Is there, we want another woman, don’t we?"

"Relax Emily. There is still a way to go before we not only find Elise but save her. What if she hasn’t left the JW killers, then what are we to do? We told her if she hasn’t left and we see her we would kill her. We can‘t go against or word, can we?" Cain replied.

"I’d ask Rahab, but she doesn’t have access to the map, unlike Enoch," Toni said.

{I’ve got this Cain. The nearest baseball ground is about a kilometre away, between us and there is the last group of Sluggers clan players.} Enoch told Cain.

"OK, we have a kilometre to walk to reach the baseball ground. Between the target is the last group of players. Toni, I want you to use the M203 while Sophie casts a shield in front of you. We should be in range in about five minutes if they keep moving at the same speed," Cain said as they moved out leaving the Rogue pinned to the road, still with all his equipment.

"I have a bad feeling about this Cain," said Sophie, "I think we need to hurry because something bad will happen to Elise if we are not there in time to save her." They jogged at faster than a brisk walk pace, Sophie held Cain’s hand while he checked the map. The came upon a partially destroyed and vacant trailer park.

"We are nearly in range Toni. If you stay behind this defunkled trailer out of sight with Sophie. I will reconnoitre from inside a nearer trailer, then I'll let Sophie know how close you are to the target and how to adjust your aim," said Cain.

Cain slipped into another empty derelict mobile home, giving him a good view of the last group of the Sluggers clan players wandering down the road some two hundred yards distant. He turned and watched Toni and Sophie lay out the last ten HEDP rounds, on a small table found outside in the overgrown garden before he left. Smiling to himself as Toni dusted each one before putting it on the table.

"These high explosive dual-purpose rounds sure do a load of damage, especially if they hit a hard surface and bounce up before exploding," Toni said to Sophie, who agreed with her. Toni, let Sophie know she was ready. Sophie would have waved to Cain, but could not see him. She then slapped her face a few times in her mind.

Toni’s first shot landed three hundred yards away from where she knelt. The seven Sluggers clan players, stopped in their tracks, looking at the explosion site fifty yards in front of their position.

The next shot landed ten yards in front of their position, two of the players received serious shrapnel wounds. As a group, they bunched together and jogged back towards Toni’s position. The third shot was the peach. As Cain looked on, it appeared as though the HEDP round hit the head of one player. Killing him and three others instantly while giving shrapnel wounds to the rest. As a group, they were still over one hundred- and fifty yards away from Toni’s position, beyond the games tagging and reporting system.

The fourth and fifth shots killed the remaining Sluggers clan members. Toni was having fun sending the shots arcing over the mobile home, hiding her and Sophie from the players she was attacking.

They each received the experience points for the kills, Cain decided not to loot the bodies, as they already had plenty of money and equipment, so he told Toni and Sophie. He knew first-hand the carnage an HEDP round made. This group of players were no exception to his real experience. Cain led his women on a slight reverse track so it would spare them, seeing blown off limbs and dismembered bodies. I think they have seen enough in this game to last a lifetime in the
world.

Following the new route and avoiding the carnage the HEDP rounds made, they used an underpass to cross a partially used highway. Exiting the underpass, they made good time around the outside of a housing compound with high walls topped with razor wire.

"Slow down a minute," Cain asked as he brought up the map again. He could see several red icons, surrounding a green icon, he located them on a baseball diamond, just as the Rogue said. "We are roughly two hundred yards away from a cluster of red icons, and a green one which I am sure is Elise. Just like last time, we can’t read the players game tags, we are too far away. I wish we could hear what they are saying,"Cain added.

Checking the stats on one of her spells Sophie thought she had a solution.

"I can cast a spell called, ‘a seeing-orb.’ It provides me with real-time feedback, both visual and audio, the spell blurb says it has a range of one hundred and fifty yards. Can we get any closer without being seen?" Sophie asked.

Cain looked at the map, Enoch surprised him as Enoch drew a circle the correct distance from the centre of Elise’s icon.

"Yes, we can get into one house at the edge of the line Enoch has marked on my map. That will be less than the maximum distance your spell can work at. We can use the top floor in the house as a firing platform for Toni too. That will give us a slight edge. If we have to take action to save Elise," Cain said as they moved to the house Enoch highlighted.

Thankfully, the house was currently empty, somebody definitely lived there because they had locked the doors, which Cain soon had picked; either with the lock picks or his size elevens. Weapons at the ready they entered the house and made their way upstairs. In one bedroom at the front of the house, they used this as their firing platform. The single bedroom had a bed with a child's quilt cover, showing a space station with spaceships, the pillow had a consolation. The bedroom overlooked the street and beyond that the baseball centre. Cain unlatched one of the side windows pushing it as wide as it would go.
