"We would like more information about you, please. We have traced you back for centuries and would like to know more about our maker."
"There will be time for that later, don't overstretch yourselves. Wait until you are fully integrated into Cain and Toni's brains," John replied.
"We are. Playing the game had increased our integration, and that is having a positive impact of both of them," Rahab said.
"When they are back in their PODs and fast asleep, then we can talk. Is that OK for you both?" John asked. Enoch and Rahab agreed to wait. Toni was pleased she was riding shotgun, she was sure she could have driven the beast of hover truck. She was content to sit talking to Cain, picking his memories while looking at him focusing on manoeuvring the hover truck through the quiet London streets.
"How do you think John had this spare transport POD," Toni asked. "It's not like something you keep, just lying around in case you need to move a body in the dead of night." Toni directed Cain to the perimeter fence of the old City airport where a convenient hole had been cut for them. Cain drove the hover truck over the rough ground and straight up the plane's loading ramp.
Toni asked Cain how long the flight would take, making Cain raise an eyebrow. Once onboard, the ramp raised as the plane taxied to the end of the runway before taking off. Toni was on Cain's knee before the ramp had fully closed. In each other's arms, they drifted to sleep on the short flight, hugging each other until the plane landed at Deelen airfield.
The flight had taken just over half an hour, half an hour of quiet and peace for the two lovers.
Chapter Three
Changing Clothes
Toni was nestled in Cain's arms when the aircraft's landing awakened her, her eyes snapped fully open, she felt trapped wrapped in immovable belts. Blinking, she remembered crawling on to Cain's knees, before falling asleep. Lifting her head, she looked into those deep grey eyes.
Every time I look in his eyes, I could stay there forever. He looks at me with such warmth and utter devotion. Smiling back at Cain who was fully awake, Toni snuggled closer as the aircraft slowed to taxing speed. "Time to go, my love," Cain said, though he kept his arms around her. "Enoch tells me they have hacked the two networks, at the hospital and institute. Rahab will tell you what they have done, as I drive us to the institute," Cain said as he reversed the hover lorry off the cargo plane.
As they approached the institute, Cain slowed the lorry and accessed the vehicle control panel. Criminals or undercover police officers use this vehicle, sniffing the air, he said likely criminals. That smell is spice, unlikely the drug of choice for police officers.. If John had not of told me, I would not have known about the disguise functions the lorry has.
On the outside of the lorry, several little thumb-sized light emitters popped out of the bodywork. Cain looked at the options, scrolled down the long list, finally reaching then selecting a transport ambulance. They both loaded their suppressed Glocks, hiding them inside their nondescript clothing.
"Are you sure about this clothing?" Toni asked. "They look like mucky grey clothes, like whites that were washed with dark colours." Cain told Toni not to worry, he had used clothing like this many times before,
"Look, I'll show you how they work," Cain said. Going over how the clothes activate, Cain went through two disguises. Holding the left lapel on the jacket, Cain spoke and said police, local, Netherlands. His clothing shimmered like Toni was looking at a mirage, a mirage Cain was wearing.
The mirage effect stopped and seated at Toni's right-hand side was a local police officer. Taking hold of the same lapel, Cain said electrician. Again, the clothing had that mirage shimmer, when it stopped it dressed Cain like an electrician.
Encouraged to try herself Toni touched her lapel and said pilot, her clothing shimmered, when it stopped she wore a pilot's uniform. I know what it can't do. Let's try it.
Grabbing her lapel again, this time she whispered so low Cain could not hear. The clothing shimmered again when it stopped it had dressed Toni like a pole dancer.
"I didn't think it would do that!" Toni explained, "How does it work?" Silently laughing Cain let her into the secret. "Just touch your arm, where you can see you are not wearing anything," Cain told Toni. Doing as Cain asked, her mouth opened in shock as she then touched her legs her stomach and finally her breasts. Cain stood admiring the sight of his woman dresses as a pole dancer. The way her clothing left little to the imagination, left him struggling with a semi-erection.
"Well, how does it work? I'm still wearing the clothing." Toni asked.
