“For a human that has lived shorter than a gnat’s ass, Ye’ sure think you know everything.”
I shrug. I’ve long gotten use to the way Drago talks to me.
“I get it from my uncle.”
He stares at me with that look that suggest maybe I didn’t get the punchline to his joke.
“Ok,” Drago finally says.
He takes the sword out of his lap and places it at his side.
“I’m going to tell ye’ the story of the Dragons. Once upon a time there was a spoiled daddy’s girl that just so happened to be a goddess. She asked her father to give her a realm, one that she could rule over like her many brothers. Her father, being a push over, gave the spoiled brat what she wanted. The first thing the goddess daughter created in her realm were the unicorns. They were supposed to embody everything she stood for. Love, kindness, fairness to all things and mercy. She soon realized that though the unicorns were magical and pure creatures, they were fucking pansies and could barely keep themselves alive. So the spoiled goddess created the dragons. They were strong, intelligent, fierce, and protective beings. They were superior in every way. Their mighty dragon king was handsome, charming, and ruled his people justly and with wisdom. It was because of these things he caught the eye of the goddess herself. They formed a relationship, one that kept the goddess in the Dragon King’s bed. Yet, the spoiled bitch was still not happy. So she created the non-magicals.
Not long after the creation of the non-magical beings, the goddess became infatuated with them. She would spend her time watching them and helping them with every single fucking problem they had. “It didn’t rain, my crops are going to die.” “My family is sick.” “My wife can’t bear children.”.” he snarls out every one of the examples.
“Finally, after being neglected after so much time, the dragon king confronted the goddess. He told her that her new creations were weak and mindless and should be wiped out. The spoiled goddess was angry about the dragon king’s brilliant suggestion and broke it off with him. The dragon king had been livid. The dragons were far too superior to be on the same level as the other creations of the Locke. The great king told his followers that no longer will they be made equal to the pathetic non-magicals and the other magicals of this realm. They should be ruling the Locke. The dragons set loose on the land reclaiming it for themselves. The goddess took notice. She saw how the mighty dragons gained control of the land in less than four days. They had proved their superiority. But instead of acknowledging this and setting the dragons in their rightful place, she slaughtered them all leaving only the dragon king alive to forever remember how his people were wrongfully treated.
See, Human, there is not always a right or wrong decision. Dragon king’s life was ruined because some spoiled princess couldn’t handle the truth.” Drago finishes his story, picks up his sword and starts back sharpening the blade.
I watch him with my mouth hanging open. Is he serious?
“And in nowhere in that story do you think the Dragon King made a bad decision?”
Drago’s red eyes cut to me and a smirk appears across his face.
“Absolutely not.”
I scoff at his reply. Either Drago is in denial, or he is clearly insane.
“First of all, just because the dragons had all this fierceness and power didn’t make them better than the non-magicals. In fact, I think the non-magicals were the bravest in your story.”
Drago goes still as the smirk wipes from his face. Those red eyes turn to me and I can see the anger behind his glare. But I continue on with my point.
“Imagine if you were dropped into a fight without weapons and no knowledge on how to defend yourself. Plus the other guys are way more skilled than you. That must have been how the non-magicals felt being surrounded by powerful beings. Yet they still survived. It’s easy to be brave when you are a big bad dragon, but try being a regular person and facing the same obstacles. And,” I continue throwing up my finger. “…if the dragon king really wanted to get his time back with the goddess, why didn’t he just help the non-magicals himself. If he would have helped solve some of their problems, then the goddess wouldn’t have had to do it by herself. My uncle always said that great leaders don’t MAKE you follow them, they make you WANT to follow them. I bet the goddess would have been more proud of the dragons if they would have showed more initiative to help. That’s the sign of a great leader. And even when the dragon king brought his problem to the goddess, why didn’t he tell her his real issue. All he had to say was that ‘I miss you’ ‘I want to spend more time with you’. That was his real problem. He was in love and he wanted all the goddess’s attention. When she broke up with him, he was just hurt and made a plethora of bad decisions. The same thing happened to my cousin Lizzie after her marriage failed. We all told her she got married too young, but with that baby on the way you couldn’t tell her anything. Two years later he called it off and left her for the head waitress down at Bessie’s. Lizzie has been bouncing around from one married man to the next ever since. Even when she got chased down the street with a butcher knife after quiet Sue Ellen caught her rolling in the sheets with her husband Harold, it still didn’t stop her. The state even took her son away after she got into a fight with one of her men’s wives up at the elementary school. She still hasn’t learned her lesson.
There are repercussions to our actions. Unfortunately, the dragon king’s actions led his clan to being slaughtered. Now I’m not saying killing an entire species was a justified response. I’m just saying the dragon king’s actions were the cause of the goddess’s reaction. I think the real victims in the dragon king’s story were his people. They followed a man that they trusted and believed in, and unfortunately the dragon king was selfish. After his heart was broken he recklessly misguided his people and got them killed. And I bet he’s somewhere sitting around feeling sorry for his self as if he was the victim all the time. After all those years he still hasn’t figured out that it was his fault and no one else’s.”
I shake my head at the thought. That is a lot of people’s problem. They don’t know how to take responsibility for their actions. Uncle Buddy always said that more people would learn from their mistakes if they weren’t too busy denying them.
Just then Medina walks back into the arena. “Girl, if you don’t hurry up and eat lunch you won’t have time to take that unnecessary walk around the village.” She pauses when she notices Drago. “What’s wrong with tall, dark, and broody?”
I finally look up at Drago since I started my speech. My hand stills on the wolf hound’s belly. Drago is staring at me like I’ve turned into a new creature. His mouth is slightly open, his eyes wide and his brows bunched together. He seems lost in his own head. Apparently my words affected Drago in some way and I’m not sure of why.
“Lilly, hurry if you want to make it outside.” Medina rushes.
I climb to my feet and the hound does too. It nudges Drago’s leg and Drago snaps out of his thoughts. He follows me back into the dark gloomy castle.
Chapter Nine
My dick slides into the tight asshole of the redheaded non-magical and she moans. I push her head further down into the wet pussy of the blonde witch in front of her. I’ve been fucking these two for three hours and still my dick remains hard as stone.
The moment I close my eyes I hear Lilly’s moans as she fucked that cunt assassin in her walking dream last night. I’m reminded of her dark honey colored skin and those dark brown nipples as I pulled the cover off her naked body. I watched as she writhed in ecstasy before me. Her swollen pussy lips leaked her arousal and that smell, my gods the smell of her sweet cunt drove me damn near to the brink. I prayed to the gods that I could just taste that succulent nectar glistening on those lower lips. My short nails dug into my palms from how tight I held them in a fist. I knew that if my hands were to stroke those swollen lips, parting them to see that pink center hidden behind them, I would do the same thing to Lilly that my father did to my mother.
<
br /> I almost lost my bloody mind when she told me I was like him. I’ve never been angrier in all my life. Not even when I found my mother’s decaying body amongst the rubbish. It was something maddening about Lilly thinking I am like the monster that sired me. Her words struck me and for the first time I felt something other than rage. Is it possible that I have grown to become the one person I despised more than anyone else in this world? All my years of trying to be what my mother had wanted only to turn out like the person she didn’t want me to be. Lilly’s words about my mother’s desire has caused me to think. Would mother be proud of me? Is this what she meant by being successful? She wanted me to be better than what I was, but did that mean I had to become a king? I was so plagued by those thoughts that I couldn’t sleep last night and felt the need to seek out Lilly’s presence. It has a way of calming me. That is why I found myself standing over Lilly’s bed with a dick so hard I could hammer in nails. The sneaky assassin bastard pulled my own trick on me. I’ve created barriers so that no one will get into the Northern Kingdom. That worthless army that Avalia is trying to train will have no access into my lands. However, I was so worried about protecting my kingdom, I had forgotten to protect my woman’s sweet pussy, and by the gods what a sweet little cunt it is. Her tight walls squeezed my fingers in a death grip when I had them inside her at dinner.
The blonde screams as she succumbs to another orgasm. The redhead’s pussy is as stretched out as a well-worn shirt, but she can eat pussy like a pro and her tight little ass had never been touched.
I pull my dick out to the swollen head and look down at the blood that rings my cock. I ram back into her ass until my balls smack against her used pussy. She screams so loud her face turns red. After today she will probably never be able to sit again. I didn’t fucking care, I needed this release.
I didn’t hear Ofilla come in. However, I felt her presence even before she sat down on the side of the bed in my sex chamber. Her brown wavy hair is loose and hangs down her back. Those sparkling brown eyes gleaming with mischief and disgust. She leans back on her elbows and looks over to the two women I’ve been fucking none stop and then back to me.
“So this is where you’ve been all morning? Rutting into some whore’s ass.”
Without breaking my rhythm I answer Ofilla while still driving my dick into the redhead.
“What is it, Witch? I am busy.”
The red head tries to run from my pounding, but I slam my hand across her ass in warning. Her pale cheeks immediately reddens. She whimpers, but stops running from my cock.
“Well, while you have been aimlessly fucking like a brainless beast, I’ve found a way to get you your heirs.”
At her words I immediately stop pounding into the non-magical and turn to look at Ofilla. I have never known for the witch to pull my leg or tease me. If she says she has found a way, she has.
I pull my dick out of the non-magical’s ass “Leave.” I demand. Both girls turn to look at me as if they are unsure of what to do. “I said get the fuck out!” I roar.
They scurry up from their spots in fear for their lives leaving their clothes in their haste as they rush out of the red door.
I grab my trousers from the floor and pull them up stuffing my erect cock down the best way I can.
“Explain!”
“It was difficult I’ll admit,” Ofilla starts with a prideful smile. “But after I discovered it, it seemed so obvious. Almost too simple. That is why I had to check with the dark spirits to be sure. And trust me, it will work.”
“Will you tell me what the fuck it is?” I snarl, completely impatient with waiting.
Ofilla rolls her eyes. “Marriage.”
“Marriage?” I repeat. “How will marriage solve this problem?”
“Do you remember the ancient marriage vows?”
My face scrunches up in disgust. “You mean those archaic vows the non-magicals brought with them?”
Marriage was not a common practice in the Locke until after the non-magicals arrived. Magicals believed in bonding. Bonding ceremonies were usually held at a certain time of the month where our two moons combined to form one. Two people would come together under the single moon and make a lifelong commitment to each other. The magic of the single moon would bond the two together and bind their relationship where it could never be broken. Since the non-magicals and the magicals started to intermix, a lot of the early traditions have changed. Now marriage ceremonies are more popular than the quiet and intimate bonding ceremonies. Although a lot of the same routines in the marriage ceremony the non-magicals brought with them remained, those damn marriage vows did not.
“I still don’t see how this helps.” I fold my arms across my bare chest as I look down at Ofilla.
“I vow,” She starts, standing to her feet. “….to submit to my husband, my mind, my body, and my soul, for he is the leader of my house. I will trust and obey him in all things.”
When she finishes I laugh out loud. No wonder they got rid of those bloody vows. No way would anyone give a person that much control over them.
Ofilla smirks. “The spirits said that we could not trick or force the human into your bed. But, by trick they mean we couldn’t drug her or spell her to sleep with you. However, we can trick her into marrying you. Now, the wedding vows said alone would mean nothing, but if she so happens to say them under a single moon…..”
Ofilla trails off and her plan finally starts to take root. Vows said in a bonding ceremony are unbreakable. That is why bonding was so successful during it’s time. Commitments made during that ceremony were as binding as a contract to the Gods. If Lilly vowed to give me her body in a bonding ceremony, I could do whatever I wanted to it, even if she didn’t want to. As long as she says I do, I wouldn’t be taking her against her will. I would simply be taking what is rightfully mine as her husband.
The plan sounds so simple. In fact, I could almost envision her belly rounding with my first born. Everything I ever wanted is right here for the taking. However, it doesn’t feel right.
“What’s wrong?” Ofilla questions.
“Nothing.” I turn away from her trying to figure out why I have this heavy lump sitting in my chest.
“You don’t seem happy about this news. I thought you would be a little happier. I understand it doesn’t help us when it comes to the big decision she has to make, but it does get you those heirs.”
“I know,” I pause. “I am happy.”
Ofilla’s sparkling brown eyes narrow right before piercing me with her anger.
“She’s changing you……You’re falling for the human, aren’t you?’
“Do not be simple minded, Ofilla. I am not falling for anyone. I am hesitant because I know Lilly. I can’t force her to marry me…”
“Yes you can. It does not matter why she says I do, as long as she says it.”
I look away from Ofilla finding a spot on the wall above her head.
“There it is again.” She comes closer to me. “You’re hesitating.”
“I am making progress with Lilly. We have started to bond. I don’t think forcing her to marry me will be the best way to win her to our favor. If you remember, her decision will determine our life.”
Ofilla shakes her and chuckles in disbelief.
“Though your words make since, your actions tell me of your real intentions. You are not second guessing this because of the prophecy, you are second guessing this because of her.”
“I AM NOT!” I roar.
Her ability to read me better than I am capable of reading myself is pissing me off.
“Yesterday Lilly and I had a breakthrough, she’s trying to get to know the real me,”
“Is this breakthrough why you had your hand around her neck?”
I pause before responding.
“That was a slight set back. However we worked it out.”
“Look, Nevy,” The use of my real name lets me know Ofilla is extremely pissed. Even when she’s mad she still calls me Dark
King to mock me. “You promised me my sister’s head,”
“And I will kill the elven queen,”
“Not if you are falling for the human.” Our voices have both reached the yelling point. I take a breath and calm down. Ofilla is my most trusted ally, I couldn’t run her off.
“Listen,” Ofilla begins much calmer now. “I didn’t want to tell you this until I had more information, but it looks like you need to know. It seems there is something more to this prophesy. Something my dear sister is not telling anyone.”
She has my full attention now.
“What is it? Can’t you seek the dark spirits for help?”
Ofilla holds up her hand to stop me. “I have tried, but whatever it is not even the dark spirits can see it. Something big is going to happen. Now is not the time to lose focus.”
I shake my head. “I am not losing focus. This is my way in. Lilly is allowing herself to get to know me. She’s letting her guards down.”
“Everyone has a motive, Nevy. When I pulled you out of the swamps of the forbidden land saving you from your self-mutilating life, I did not do it out of the kindness of my heart. I needed your help. The human has a motive. Don’t be blinded. Figure out her motive.” With those parting words Ofilla turns and heads to the door of my underground sex chamber. She stops and turns back to me.
“You have four weeks until the next single moon. Use your time wisely, Dark King.” She turns and storms out of the room letting the heavy wood door slam close.
Could Lilly truly only be using me? She said that she wanted to get to know the real me. She wanted to know if the man she met in her dreams was real. Was she just telling me what I wanted to hear? And what the fuck is the elven queen hiding in this prophesy? I ponder these questions while I head for the shower.
“My Lorde.” One of my shifters rush into my room with his head down. “It’s the human,” He says and immediately has all my attention. “She was in Orphan Alley. They took her, my Lorde, and we can no longer find her.”
My rage builds up. What the fuck was Lilly doing in Orphan Alley?
