“I’m busy Storm,” I smirked and leaned over the small desk to grab a pen. My hand touched the coffee cup on the side, sending it to the floor. Shit. It shuttered in pieces, making a loud noise.

“A cup right? You’re still a mess,” he mocked me.

“And you are still a jerk,” I murmured into the phone, wishing he was standing right in front of me so I could punch his arrogant face.

“So hot blooded …” His laughter spread across the phone line, sending my body pulses of irritation. Why does he always get under my skin?

“Whatever. You are not staying here,” I said abruptly. I didn’t have time for his shit. I knew he hated me, but I had long given up hope on finding out why, “So bye.”

“Don’t go yet,” he said and if I hadn’t known him any better, I would have thought he was actually being genuine.

I waited despite my own reasoning.

  “What?” I muttered.

“You won’t even know I’m there,” he said.

  Highly unlikely.

“No, forget it. I said no, I don’t have time for you and your bullshit,” I said firmly.

“Don’t be like that sis,” he said and I could hear him licking his lips, “I’ve got some intimate business to take care off in NY-“

“Screw you Storm. Just get a damn room. You’ve got the money.”

“It’s nothing like that. Anyways I want to see you. “

  Sure.

“I don’t give a shit what it’s like, anyways it’s not a good idea,” I said, feeling my heart racing faster. I was there again. Pure hatred.

I heard him laughing and he moved the phone closer.

“Somebody is as feisty as ever? Well I’ll be damned… Man… I’ve missed you sis,” he stopped.

“Don’t pull that crap on me,” I murmured. Why did he have to go there?! It’s not like we ever got along and a few sweet words weren’t going to change anything.

  “I’m serious,” he said firmly.

“Ah please,” I smirked, a distaste inside my mouth.

“Meg, I’m not taking a no for an answer,” he demanded, his voice roaming across the phone line. That’s clever... call me by my name for the first time in years and make it all good, right?

  Not a chance buddy.

  “I have to go-“I muttered.

“Listen, two short days,” he said then chuckled before continuing, “and who knows maybe you’ll even enjoy some one on one time with me.”

Not even if the whole hell breaks loose.

He paused waiting for my response. I didn’t give him one.

“That’s all set then sis. I’ll see you on Friday.”

  “No, Storm-“

  He hung up.

I shook my head and put down the phone. No…hell no. Why didn’t I fight it more? I wasn’t possibly going to go through this again. Then I slowly made my way over to the kitchen counter and poured myself a glass of red, feeling sorry for myself.

Crap. He was really coming to see me. And there was nothing I could do about it.

I walked over to my sofa and curled my legs underneath, clutching the glass in my hand. Not only was I annoyed, I was incredibly busy. I didn’t have time for his ego anymore. Even though I hadn’t seen him for a full year, I didn’t need to see him. No not all. Not seeing him was actually making me happy. I was doing just fine, without the constant bickering between us. I remember when my mother brought my future stepfather and stepbrother home. Three years ago exactly. I was 16 then.

Mr. Ranged came first and we spent some time getting to know each other. Joe was late. Two hours later he showed up on his motorcycle in a Guns ‘n’ Roses t-shirt and barged in like he owned the place. The moment I saw him, I knew I wouldn’t like him. And then after the dinner, he opened his poisonous tongue, confirming my initial thoughts.

“Damn sis,” he chuckled, leaning back into the chair,” you need to get some meat on that body.”

  Jerk.

  “Listen you-“I tensed up.

“Name is Storm, sis,” he interrupted me, arrogance curving his lips.

“I’m not your damn sister! And I am happy just the way I am, thank you very much.” I smirked, my arms clenching over my tensed up body. Why did I feel like I needed to defend myself in front of this jerk?

“Joe, be nice to your sister. Meg darling, I’m really sorry about this,” his father said, then looked at my mother smiling,” I guess they are already bonding. A real brother and a sister.”

“Its fine honey, it’ll take some time. Oh I’m so happy we are all together!” she squealed and then looked at me and Joe,” Meg don’t get upset. He means well. And Joe, you are absolutely right, she does need to eat more,” she started serving the desserts.

“I mean well,” he repeated, clearly amused. His eyes kept my heated gaze. I swear he was just doing that to piss me off.

Then he cocked an eyebrow at me and winked.

“My little sis,” he whispered, his lips turning upwards.

Ugh. My mind was made up. I was going to spend the rest of my life hating my new stepbrother. And so it started. It was only after I had moved out to New York that I stopped wasting energy on him. And I was happy.

But now he was back into my life. For the two whole days. And I had no idea how I would get through with it.

  ***

“You are coming tonight, right?” Amy smiled, putting on her dress.

“I don’t know hon,” my eyebrows gathered as I thought about the two days I had in front of me. Today was Friday. Today he was coming.

“What do you mean? We planned for this for two months. It’s going to be a great party. And Matt is really looking forward to spending some time with you!”

Her giggling was rubbing off on me, I had to admit it. Sure I wanted to go. But just thinking about my stepbrother put me out of the mood for anything. Even Matt, the cutest bartender at our workplace. The sexiest guy on Manhattan. Or so I thought. And also this was supposed to be our first date.

“I know!” I laughed, even though I felt my breath stuck in my throat, it was such a bad timing. Oh why did Storm have to come this weekend? Out of all weekends, he picked just the one that was so important to me. Typical. Just typical Storm. “But-“

“But you’re not sure?” she shrugged her shoulders, looking at me with puppy eyes.

  I took a deep breath.

“No, I’m coming!” I said cheerfully. I wasn’t going to let Storm destroy my life in New York as well. It was enough with New Jersey.

“That’s great! And you should bring your stepbrother along. I’m sure he is great. I mean…Hum...let me think… a biker with hot tattoos, oh!” her eyes popped out of her head,” And who do we know that has a
big thing for bikers?”

Amy bit her lip and spun around in a circle.

“Amy! Stop that… I love you too much to hook you up with my jerk brother. You deserve better than that. He is really bad news, you know.” I shook my head.

“Why don’t you let a girl decide for herself?” she grabbed her purse and headed for the door.

“I have to run and shower. Just bring him along, I love bad news!”

And she left the locker room, closing the door behind her.

I sighed, gathering the last of my things. I was really hoping that I would get a night without him. At the same time I loved Amy, she was my best friend. But Storm was trouble. Oh well, I could just mention the party as I’m leaving, without even telling him the address. That way I wouldn’t technically be lying to neither one of them.

I laughed to myself, as I closed the room to the locker room and went pass the bar.

“Hey gorgeous, we are still on for tonight? Pick you up at 8?” Matt called after me.

I glanced over my shoulder, looking at the sexy guy, behind the bar. He was so cute.

It is so happening tonight. Oh yes.

“Sure thing,” I said cheerfully,” Just don’t be late.”

By the time I got home, it was already 5pm and I went into the bathroom and checked my face in the mirror. Deep dark circles were showing and my hair had pulled both sweat and dirt, looking matted and lifeless. Crap. I needed to get some rest and put a lot of make up on, if Matt was going to think I looked hot. It had been a long shift that day at work. I and Amy were head waitresses and for lunch a large conference had been guests. We were running around for hours. And not only were my feet killing me but I also felt the tiredness in my whole body. I needed a hot shower.

  The doorbell rang.

I quickly walked to the door, glancing to the clock on the wall. Storm wasn’t coming in until 7 pm and nobody could get through the entrance without me buzzing them in. She needs some sugar again, I smiled to myself as I reached for the handle.

  I opened the door, smiling.

  “Mrs. Jen-“

  A surprise washed over me.

“Do I look like a Mrs. to you?” Storm was standing in front of me, his face cool as ice, his dark blue eyes looking through me. I cleared my throat as he barged pass me, not waiting for an invitation.

“How did you get in?” I was dumb folded. Nobody could get in through that gate, without someone buzzing them in.

  “Easy.”

“You climbed over it?” I looked at him in shock. The gate was tall as a house and spiked like a mean ass.

“A gentleman never discloses his secrets. Damn, you look like a train ran you over, sis. What happened?” he asked, as he dropped the bag on the floor.

“And you grace me with your charm so early? What did I do to deserve this pleasure?” I huffed. I stood there for a second just watching him. He didn’t respond. Then I walked over to the bathroom.

“The living room is that way. Why don’t you go and blow off some of that famous charm on the TV? I don’t take jerk comments, before 7 pm. Now, I have to get ready.”

I turned away from him and opened the door to the bathroom. In one swift move, his hand was on top of mine, holding back the handle.

“You are such a fire Meg,” he said as his hand grabbed a stray of my hair and tugged in behind my ear. What is this? Brotherly love? You’re three years late, buddy.

  I brushed him off.

“Give me a break Storm,” I said, rolling my eyes.

“What a welcome party,” he said, breathing in the air around me. Then he observed me for a few seconds, before continuing.

“Good to see you too, sis. Now if you’ll excuse me?” He said and walked into the living room. Then a few short moments after, I saw him passing the small hallway and he entered my bedroom. In a second I heard a heavy drop and my bed made a loud squeaky noise.

  Oh no he didn’t!

  “Nice place!” he called out.

“You better not have,” I murmured, rushing to my bedroom and found him laying on my bed. His feet were up on my beautiful silk beddings, his leather boots deep into the smoothness. His arms were behind his head and he had a devilish smile on his face.

“Hey, what the hell are you doing? Those are silk beddings and that is my bed!” I glared at him, my voice rising in the pitch. He didn’t even blink. His lips curled upwards, his famous arrogance shining through.

“And what a bed it is, little sis! Wow. I love the crib. Who would have thought? You’ve done well for yourself,” he said, licking his lips.

“Look Storm, get those shitty shoes off my bed immediately. You will sleep on the sofa,” I felt tension rising inside me and my face flushing. Only he could make me feel like exploding in wrath, in less than 20 seconds.

He chuckled, watching me patiently. There was no movement what so ever.

“I have to get ready, hello!” My foot started tapping, as I watched him close his eyes and take a deep breath. He was clearly enjoying this. Then he opened his eyes and looked at me.

“Where are you going?” he asked me, his voice warmer all of a sudden.

“I have to get ready for a party and this is my bedroom. So yeah,” I said slowly, hoping he would drop the attitude and just go into the living room.

“A party?” He brushed his bearded square jaw. As the top of his hand became visible I noticed the cool spider tattoo. That was new.

“Yeah, so...” I said, motioning him towards the door.

“Well then, you go and shower and I’ll make some food for us,” he got up on his feet and I noticed how broad shouldered he had become. He was also so muscular. His leather pants wrapped perfectly his slim hips and he wore a black t-shirt with a MC jacket.

Somebody had been working out. A lot.

I swallowed hard, as he passed me and went directly into the kitchen.

“I’m not hungry Storm,” I called after him.

Have dinner with him? That will drive me crazy…

“Nonsense, you need to eat if you are going to be drinking,” he called and I heard movement of the pans.

“But I said, I’m not hungry!” I barged into the small kitchen, finding him looking through my cupboards. He was acting like he owned the place. Ugh the nerve.

“Hello! I’m not hungry.” I claimed the attention. I hated when he ignored me. As if it wasn’t enough that he always had to have his way when we were living under the same roof, he had to do it here as well! But this was my home. He had no right ordering me around.

Then he turned around slowly, his eyes fixated on mine.

“Damn it Meg, why do you always do this? Just get into the shower. Dinner will be ready in twenty minutes,” he demanded and turned around again,” Go.”

  GOD!

I gave up, storming out of the small kitchen.

“I hate you!” I called out before I entered the bathroom.

His laughter spread across my flat.

“We need to work on that!”

  ***

I hated him. But most of all I hated that he was right. I did need a shower and also a hot meal. I hadn’t eaten for the past 24 hours and as the hot warm water started washing my tired body, massaging my aching muscles, I heard a loud growl. And it pissed me off even more. How did he know, just what I needed?

I must have stayed in the shower for good fifteen minutes, shaving my legs and also my pussy. It was important… This was the night it was going to happen. I was going to lose my virginity to Matt! The sexiest bartender I had ever laid my eyes on. By the time I was done washing and trimming everything, my hair and body smelled wonderful. Fresh and sexy, nothing like the stale restaurant smell.

With a smile on my face, I started putting my make up on and then I dried my hair, curling it lightly. With a towel around my body, I reached for the handle and found my stepbrother in front of it. There was no way of knowing how long he’d been standing there. And I
also felt really weird and conscious, when I stood there with only a towel around me.

“Do you mind? I’m already late!”

“I called you three times, what were you doing in there for so long?” He asked me, his face looking frustrated, yet somewhat curious. He wasn’t moving from the spot.

  Jerk.

“Damn it Storm, I needed to make myself look good and why do you care anyways?” I said and barged pass him, walking into my bedroom. Once inside, I moved the towel down and just as I was about to take it off, the door opened.

“Oh my god!” I gasped turning around, clinging the towel around myself. I had forgotten to close the door. He stood there watching me in silence for a few seconds, his eyes observing me from head to toe. His body graced by the dangerous tattoos. His blue eyes intensely deep and his composure still as the deepest ocean. He looked so powerful. So dominant. And….smoking hot.

Break. Pause. Hello!!! What the hell just happened? I swallowed hard, trying to clear my mind, but his eyes were burning his name on my flesh. Where the hell did that thought come from? My heart started racing so fast, I thought it had already jumped on a high speed train to Memphis. I was floored by his manliness and the affect it had on me. Oh my god, I’m so going to hell. This is my stepbrother. A jerk that I hate?

“You already look good,” he said, standing in the doorway.

And the way he said those words, made goose bumps rise all over my body. I literally melted looking at him.

“I’m cold,” I whispered, not realizing what was going on with me. Was it the wet towel or his attention? I had no way of knowing for sure.

“You better get dressed then,” he said, his voice intensely quiet, not releasing me from his gaze.

  Fuck, this is so wrong!

“You said I looked like the train ran me over!” I slipped abruptly, wanting to slap myself for breaking the moment.

“You were tired, I was just stating the facts,” he said gently then paused as if searching for something else to say. My body relaxed, as I allowed him to dominate the moment. Silence swept around us and then he hooked me right back inside the forbidden daze.
