Burning Sky (Burning Sky Series) Page 4

by Noir Duvall

I began hunting; luckily picking up a trail about 2 miles past the stream, where we had come every day for the past week. I knew by the foot prints it was a group and they were moving in the direction of of camp. I scented the men on the breeze... their blood calling my name. I continued following the trail, hoping to catch them before they got to our campsite.

  ***

“Where are they? I tracked them here, Where are they?” I ran into the camp, barely able to hold my body still.

“What?” Trevor’s voice bled into the hunger, I tried breathing slowly through my nose to keep what little control I had gained.

“The group of men. They came through here... I can smell them.” I was walking in circles, I couldn’t do this.

“I sent them away. They were Zachary’s brother. I figured you would get mad if I let them stay….”

“Fuck....” I took a deep breath. Dear God, I shouldn't have come back this way. I put my hands on my thighs, bending down to calm my nerves.

“Sky...” Trevor moved quickly in my direction. “What's wrong?!”

I jumped back. I could only hear the deafening sound of his blood pulsing in his veins. “Fuck, Trevor! I could have killed them. I could have made it work.” I wailed, falling to my knees.

“Why would you…. oh shit. Sky…” Trevor muttered moving back from me. Oh, NOW he realized what was going on.

I leaned forward and gripped handfulls of dirt in an attempt to anchor myself down. “I have to go after them. I have to end it.” I muttered to myself. My vision was starting to blur around the edges. Any much longer, I would not be me... at all. Trevor would be dead.

“Why didn’t you tell me you needed blood...” Trevor asked softly.

I didn't need him or want for him to be nice to me right now! The things I was contemplating... the visions I was seeing in my twisted vampire mind...

“I could have helped you.” Trevor said moving closer to me.

I leaped up before I knew I was moving, and had Trevor pinned against a tree. “You can hep me now, human!” I screeched. Saliva moistened my fangs as I brought my lips close to his neck. His carotid was pulsing... teasing me just under his beautiful thin skin.

When Trevor offered me a simple smile and turned his head so that his neck was at a perfect angle for me... the human part of me managed to grab control, if only for a moment. “What are you doing...” I hissed.

  “Take my blood.” Trevor said.

I stumbled backwards, releasing him from my vice-like grip. “No... I could kill you.”

Trevor walked towards me slowly, his hands up in submission. “I’m not letting you go any longer without nourishment. It hurts me to see you in this much pain. Let me share it with you.”

My world was spinning and I fell backwards into the dry dirt. “No, you don't want to share in this...”

The handsome former SEAL sat on the ground next to me. His hand found mine and he wove our fingers together. “You can do it... I trust you.”

My head was still shaking as I thought to myself, do I really have a choice? If he was going to offer blood, I was going to have to take it. The hunger for blood was beginning to override, I needed to do it while I was in some form of control. I looked into his Emerald eyes hoping, I could maintain focus and not hurt this amazing man. If I lost control, then I would lose everything that I love all over again.

“I trust you, Sky.” Trevor said, pulling his shirt over his head, exposing his muscular chest. Trevor leaned his head to the side, offering his neck up to me once again. His arms pulling me close, the scent of his body made me shiver.

I moved slowly. “I'm sorry if this hurts...” I whispered, pulling him just a little closer to me.

Tentatively, I place my fangs over his neck, slowly sinking them into his flesh. Trevor winced and then went still. His blood rushed into my greedy mouth... it was like unblocking a dam on my hunger; his blood was like pure gold flowing past my lips. I could feel myself grow damp with desire as I pulled from his veins... it was amazing... and erotic that Trevor had offered himself to me so freely... so unselfishly.

Trevor slowly moved a big hand up and down my arm as I fed from his body. His touch caused another hunger start to rise...

“Sky, baby, my vision is starting to blur... “ Trevor squeezed my hand.

Though I knew that I should, I couldn’t seem to pull back. I needed just a bit more; I wanted to feel his body. I attempted to focus but everything was all about blood and sex at the moment.

“Sky...” His voice was edged with a bit of panic. Trevor gripped my shoulders and used as much strength as he could to pull me from him just a fraction. That was enough to break my trance.

I fell back to the ground, breathing hard. Stars and rainbows flowed in my eyes as I lay there in the dirt, my hunger satisfied. In the back of my mind I still couldn’t understand how any human could be like this. I rolled my head to look at Trevor. “Are you okay?” I asked taking in his condition. He was sitting back leaning on the log looking dazed.

“I’m fine, I think. I just need to... to eat something, that should help with....” Each one of his words were slightly slurred as he spoke.

Fuck... I had almost over done it. “God, I'm sorry!” I quickly climbed to my feet went to the packs, digging out a few protein bars. “Here, eat, rebuild your blood levels. God, I’m sorry I took so much, I tried to stay in control.” I said handing him the bars, feeling bad for having let my hunger go this far.

He smiled weakly, stroking my cheek with his index finger. “I will be fine.” Trevor said breaking into the first bar, eating as if he was the one starving now. “How are you feeling?”

“Much better, thank you.” I watched him eat for a moment or two. “I never would have asked you to do that for me.” I said forcing a laugh, my emotions were becoming clear.

“I know. You should have been honest with me though; you can trust me, Sky.” He paused in his eating to look at me, locking his beautiful green eyes with mine. “I wouldn't do anything to hurt you; I would hope to think that was clear by now.” Trevor gently ran his finger along my chin and smiled. “You can trust me, my beautiful vampire.” With a wider smile, he finished off the second bar, chucking the paper into the fire.

“I guess there is a reason I allowed you to stick around my camp.” I said, sitting next to him, leaning into his warmth, enjoying the closeness.

“Oh, you allowed me to stay, and here I thought I chose to stay.” Trevor said with a grin as he pulled me closer.

I smiled and shrugged. “Well, I guess you could say that, if you want to get technical.”

Trevor's smile waned as he took a deep breath. “Uh, I need to tell you something,” his voice was soft against the skin just behind my ear. When he said nothing for a moment, I began to worry. This was going to be a 'here's why I can't be with you anymore' conversation... my stomach turned slowly.

“I think I am falling for you.”

My breath caught in my throat. Trevor was falling... for me? “What?”

A small uncomfortable laugh rumbled in his chest. “I'm falling in love with you, Sky.”

My lips twisted into a smile. While if felt the same, I was unable to gather the courage to admit it to him, now he had taken the first step.

“Uh... say something... please?” My heart melted slightly at the vulnerability I heard in his voice.

I curled tighter against his side. “I think... maybe I feel the same way.” I remained curled against him and he said nothing. Gently, I pushed away from his body to see his face. His normal color had returned and his eyes were gleaming. Even though he had just lost a lot of blood to feed me, he still managed to look perfect.

“Really? I mean... if you don’t feel the same way... then I will understand. You don't have to tell me you do.” Trevor was babbling in an obviously nervous manner.

I placed my finger against his lips to quiet him. “No, I'm not just saying it. I know I shouldn't feel this way... it’s not good f
or your health... or mine, but I’m pretty sure it’s true.” I said softly, doing my best not to panic about my own over flow of emotions.

“Good. As a matter of fact I think it’s perfect, a prefect end to a well not so perfect night.” Trevor said pulling me up onto his lap, I shifted so I was straddling him.

Since were going to be admitting stuff... heartfelt stuff to each other, I might as well drop my bombshell. “I guess it’s my turn to tell you something.” I closed my eyes tightly.

“Anything.” His hands rose to my hips, moving my body slightly... but just enough to bring my attention to the lump that he had me grinding against. “Tell me.”

“I thought I was going to kill you tonight and that scares me. I thought about the cure and... I'm so confused. I like being strong, fast... but I don't want to kill you either. I guess I still need to think about the cure.” My voice had turned to a whisper, I wasn’t only telling him about my indecision I was telling myself that for once I wasn’t sure what I wanted.

Trevor didn’t speak right away he just tilted his face slightly, nodding for a minute, as if he was thinking. “You didn't kill me though.” His thumb and forefinger gently gripped my chin, lifting my face so he could look into my eyes. “I am perfectly ok with you as you are. I don’t care if your human or vampire... or whatever, as long as your with me,” he said softly.

“You’re sure you understand?” I stared directly into his emerald eyes.

“You can take years or an entire life time to decide about the cure, it’s your decision to make not mine. I just want to make sure that you want me.” He said with a smile as he slid his arms around my waist.

“Oh... I want you.” That hunger sparked within me as I wrapped my arms around Trevor’s neck, pulling him against me.

I closed my eyes as I slid my tongue past his lips into his mouth. Trevor eagerly returning the kiss. He flicked his tongue over my teeth, grazing over my fangs. I could feel him growing, his erection pressing through our clothes between my thighs. I felt my wetness spread as I ground my hips against his body, his cock was throbbing and I wanted it inside of me desperately. I pulled off my shirt in a flash, exposing my bare breasts. Trevor took full advantage, using his hands to cup my silky flesh as he squeezed and rubbed my hardening nipples. A small gasp escaped my lips as he slid his tongue over each, on taking his time to bring my twin peaks to hard points in his mouth. Standing up quickly, I pulled Trevor to his feet, ripping his shirt over his head. I wanted to feel his skin against mine. I pressed my hands against his perfect chest; even now I couldn’t describe him any other way. I pulled his body against mine, lightly grazing my nails over his back as I held him close. My fingers slid down his sides to his waist, inching slowly to the front of his jeans. I unfastened his pants and began pushing them down. He stepped back, kicking off the blue garment while I pulled mine off as fast as I could. Both of us lost all forms of patience as we moved to the shelter, our desire needing to be fed.

I pushed Trevor down gently. He obliged laying down his body on the make shift bedding.

As I watched him, I couldn’t help but notice the bruises made his body a near perfect mosaic of desire. I smiled as I straddled his body, kissing him first on the lips and then trailing my tongue down his chest until I ended at his throbbing hard cock. It was a masterpiece. I wrapped my fingers around his shaft, stroking it slowly. When I pressed my lips to the tip of his crown, he gasped in surprise. I pulled it inside I mouth, sucking on it until I felt Trevor shivering with delight, I paused for a moment. When he didn’t object I continued to pleasure him this way until he was practically shaking, he pushed me back.

“I can’t take anymore; I want to be inside of you.” Trevor said his face cloaked in desire, those emerald eyes piercing my soul.

I smiled and slowly began climbing up his body, positioning myself over his throbbing erection. I rocked back and forth over it, for a moment just to torture him. Then I slide down taking all of his hard cock inside my pussy, I gasped as I felt his shaft sliding inside of my body, I felt like a goddess as I rode Trevor’s body. I began to rise and fall, with long slow strokes I was relishing the feeling of friction between our bodies, and he felt so good. Trevor grabbed my hips, lifting me up off his cock. It was my turned to be shocked; I looked at him as I sat on the ground.

“Get on your knees.” Trevor said motioning for me to turn around, understanding now I obeyed.

I leaned forward on my knees so I was on all fours; Trevor positioned himself behind me and began penetrating my pussy with hard and fast thrusts. It only took a few moments for me to start moaning, all I could feel was the pleasure. The friction of our bodies was sending shutters riveting through my body; I could feel my orgasm building. Trevor gripped my hip and suddenly my orgasm hit me in waves, I barely was able to hold myself up off the ground. I cried out as my juices began flowing, as he continued fucking me. Trevor began to moan and move faster, thrusting his cock deeper into my body. I knew he was nearing his peak, his rhythm sent me into a second orgasm. I heard Trevor cry our as he exploded inside of my body, I could feel the shudders running through his body. After a few moments we fell over, bodies entwined as we lay there in the dark of the shelter watching the embers from their fire float into the sky.

“Sky, I love you.” A wide smile spread on my lips as Trevor spoke the words.

“I know, I love you too.” I said, pulling him closer to me.

Neither of us knew what tomorrow would bring, another band of highway man trying to kill us. It could be another week without eating and having to worry about trying to kill Trevor, there was just no telling. But whatever tomorrow would bring, they would deal with it as long as we had each other. I am okay with the fact that I still have issues to work on, especially with the fact that I have fallen in love with a human. While I still hate humans Trevor got a free pass, he was unlike the rest of them. There was always a backup plan, just in case for some reason I ever needed it badly I knew there was a cure out there somewhere. The one thing I did know was with the group out there looking for the man I had killed, we would have to leave our safe haven.

“Trevor, are you awake?” I said softly, rolling to look at his face.

“Barely, what’s wrong?” he’s said looking worried; my face must have been showing something.

“Did you say the group was looking for the man I killed?” I laid my head on his bare chest, curling my body to his.

“Yeah, they were his brothers.” He murmured, running his hand along my back in small circles.

“They may come back, so I think we may need to find another camp. It’s getting hard to find you food here; we won’t talk about my issues.” My words were low as sleep was trying to take over.

“Sky, go to sleep. We can talk more tomorrow; we will work on moving out in the morning.” Trevor pulled me tight against him, within minutes he was snoring softly.

I smiled at the sound, for a human he was awful agreeable. Anybody else would have argued about leaving an already made camp. I couldn’t help but wonder if things would last, as darkness took over and sleep prevailed.
