Along Country Roads Page 28

by Mandy Magro

To my wise and loving dad, John. I feel so very blessed to have a dad like you. You have a gentle way of guiding me through life, and are always there to offer advice, to give me a hug when I need it, and to have a laugh with. You’re an awesome grandad to Chloe, and we both love you to the moon and back.

To my awesome stepdad, Trevor. Thank you for being the coolest, funniest, most caring and loving stepdad around! I have so much to be thankful for when it comes to you, especially for where I am in life and what I have achieved, and also for my positive outlook—even when times are at their lowest. I thought of you when I wrote the quote at the front of the book as it is something you always say to me. Love you.

To my four beautiful sisters, Karla, Mia, Talia and Rochelle. You are all so unique, and I love that. I’m so very blessed to have four of you to love, and to share this journey of life with. And as aunties you all rock it! And Karla, thank you for all your police expertise with the storyline—I couldn’t have done it without you!

To my awesome Aunty Kulsoom. You’ve always been keen to read my books, and I’m humbled with that. I’m so blessed to have an aunty as cool as you in my life. Love you heaps.

To my soul friend, Kirsty. You are one of the most inspiring, courageous and caring women I have ever met. You’ve got a warrior soul and the heart of a lion. I love spending time with you and look forward to all the fun times ahead. Thank you for always being by my side, cheering me on, encouraging me to take steps into places I fear, and most importantly, always reminding me to believe in myself. Love ya guts!

To my beautiful forever friend, Tia. You’re one in a million, hon. We’ve been friends for half our lives now, and I feel so very blessed to have you in my life. You know me, inside out, warts and all, and love me regardless. One day we will sit back in our rocking chairs, and laugh about the many adventures we’ve had. I love you heaps, always and forever.

To my beautiful German mate, Katie. You always know how to make me smile, and are such an amazing soul to be around. Too many miles separate us, but you are always in my thoughts, and my heart. Big hugs to you my forever friend.

To my wonderful SS, Fiona Stanford. You are amazing, hon. So selfless, loving and caring … I’m so happy our lives crossed paths all those years back. Love ya!

And to all the women, and men, who have suffered at the hand of domestic violence, be it mentally, physically, emotionally, or all three … you are all warriors in your own rights. Stand tall, and strong, and never stop believing in your worth. We all deserve to be loved, and cherished.

And finally, but most importantly of all, a massive thank you to you, the reader, for climbing into the pages of my books, and hopefully losing yourself in the journey. My wish is that Along Country Roads makes you forget about the dreaded housework, keeps you up until the early hours of the morning, makes you laugh out loud, makes you reach for the tissues, and leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling at the end. Because let’s face it, we all want love, don’t we? It is what makes the world go round …

Until my next book, keep smiling and dreaming … life is beautiful.

  Mandy xoxo
