Liz dropped the phone in her lap and Kait picked it up again. “Oh crap. Liz’s mom posted on Facebook that her daughter’s engaged.”
“Dammit,” Gabi said.
“And it’s getting likes. Even one from… oh no.” Kait held the screen out to Liz. “Who’s that woman?”
Liz’s voice was so small that she was hard to hear. “That’s—that’s Brett’s mom.”
“Which means he’ll know soon if he doesn’t already,” Sierra supplied.
“Which means she can’t say it was a mistake now,” Kait said.
“Can’t she? Maybe it’s not too late,” Gabi asked, sounding desperate.
“Not without setting herself up for months of even more hell,” Sierra said, pacing around the room. “So we need to not only find her a guy, but one who’s okay with lying in front of her entire family about their so-called engagement.”
She paused surveying the trio on the bed. “So yeah, that? That could be a problem.”
