Pursuit: A Bad Boy Romance Page 60

by Cristal Pierre

“Wh-what is this?!” she demands, her head turning to face Nate, who’s still in human form. He has to admit the look on Madison’s face amuses him, but Alex is doing more than enough to scare the woman. He doesn’t need to partake in the little game. “What’s happened to him?”

“If you don’t show us where Laura is, he’s going to eat you alive.” Okay, maybe he can have a little fun.

“I’ll report you to the police!” Madison then demands, pointing a finger at Nate. She doesn’t have the confidence and the guts to meet Alex’s eyes. “Not only did you two thrash my house, but… ”

“And what are you going to tell them? That a bear happened to appear in your house?”

A low growl, almost a sinister snicker, erupts from Alex, who then shifts back into human form. He walks towards the sofa and grabs a throw pillow to cover his junk.

“Sure, they’ll believe you,” says Alex this time. “Don’t forget that you abducted someone else, and honestly, I’m fucking tired of your antics. We’re going to find her, and we don’t give a damn if we bring your whole house down.”

Alex turns around in a huff and starts walking towards the back end of the house. He sniffs here and there, trying to catch Laura’s scent, until his feet take him into the wine cellar in the basement of the mansion. Stacks and stacks of aged liquor fill the entire room. If Madison weren’t the crazed psychopath she is, Alex and Nate could see themselves being friends with her, what with her affinity for quality wines. It’s unfortunate that they don’t want anything to do with her.

Then, they hear a muffled voice coming from one of the corners of the room. Instantly, they rush towards the origin of the sound, and both Nate’s and Alex’s hearts almost break at the sight of Laura tied to a chair with her wrists and ankles bound with rope and electric tape over her mouth. Nate unties her quickly, and with barely any energy left in her, she melts against his chest as he carries her in his arms.

She’s safe now. They have her.

  Chapter 11

“Does this hurt?” Nate asks, dabbing the washcloth on the spots around Laura’s wrists.

Laura’s back in the comfort of her apartment, in the solace that is her bed. After the day she’s had, she’s supposed to be ready to doze off and call it a night, but she is anything but sleepy. She’s wide awake. Her eyes, a startling emerald, are looking at the two men in front of her – Nate, who is washing the wounds and treating her bruises, and Alex, who has just emerged from her bedroom with a change of clothes in hand.

Nate takes a break to wash the blood away from Laura’s cuts when Alex pulls her dress over her head until she’s only in her underwear. His large hands grazing her skin stirs Laura awake. She’s barely thinking of her wounds right now. She’s almost forgotten of her kidnapping. The two men before her prove to be a great distraction, but she knows they’re more than just a distraction. She loves them dearly, the both of them, after what they’ve done for her.

“I’m going to take off your underwear now,” Alex says when his fingers close around the waistband of her lace panties.

Slowly, he pulls the undergarment down her slender legs, and Laura hikes her foot up and then the other to get herself out of her panties. Bare and exposed, Laura feels she’s never been more right than when she takes Alex’s face in her hands and closes the distance between them with a hard, desperate kiss. To her surprise, tears slowly roll down her cheeks, tears of gratefulness towards the two men who’d do anything to protect. Laura sinks deeper against Alex’s chest when she feels his arm wind around her waist to hoist her up. He flips her around, so his back is against the couch as Laura straddles him with her knees against both sides of his hips.

Laura lets out a soft, melodic moan when Alex starts to assault the curve of his neck. Mine. He seems to be telling her as he leaves markings all over that patch of skin. Laura tightens her arms around Alex’s neck, wanting more and more and more. Then, Alex slowly lands a trail of kisses downwards from Laura’s neck to the flat plane of skin in between her breasts. He swipes his tongue across the bare patch before moving over to her left mound. His teeth close around her taut nipple and give it a tug. She flinches a bit before she lets out a soft, satisfied smile.

As Alex continues to nip and pull at her breasts with his mouth and deft fingers, Nate walks closer to them and pushes the coffee table to the side. Then, he bends forwards, his hands on Laura’s waist, as his lips descend onto the skin of her neck. Laura leans her head slightly backwards to revel in the indescribable pleasure she’s feeling at the moment. With Alex all-eyes and all-mouth action on her breasts and Nate biting and tugging the all-too sensitive skin of her neck, it’s hard for Laura to focus. Her entire body is alive, the pleasure coming from not a single part.

“You have to rest,” Nate says, a little too protectively, when Laura’s lips close around the sensitive head of his dick. With the way he has his hands clasped behind his head, Nate’s having a hard time letting concern reign supreme over lust. He knows Laura has to rest, but his dick has a mind of its own.

Laura shakes her head, Alex’s dick moving with the motion as well. Then, she lifts the tips of her lips up into a faint, seductive grin, and all Nate can do is elicit a low, raspy groan when Laura starts to move her head and take his entirety in.

“Fuck…” Nate says, relishing in the feel of Laura’s mouth around him, moving and gliding along his shaft. “Yes…”

Laura is emboldened with the sounds leaving Nate’s lips and so closes both her hands along his thick erection. She starts to move her hands in opposite directions, the friction sending a wave of pleasure throughout Nate’s body. He sounds like he’s panting with Laura’s hand-and-mouth tandem, but he doesn’t want her to stop.

After a while, he pulls his thickness away from Laura’s mouth before he carries her in his arms. Then, Nate sets her down and pulls her with him as he starts to lie down on the floor. Straddling him, Laura’s hand closes around his erection and positions it right at her entrance, the tip of his dick teasing and grazing the lips of her pussy. Behind her, Alex is kneeling on the floor, awaiting Laura’s next move. As Laura’s pushes herself downwards, the lips of her pussy closing around Nate’s member, Alex props his hands on Laura’s waist. Then, Laura starts to move her hips, dictating the pace to which the two men will follow. Nate matches her movements and starts to thrust his hips forward, and not long after, when Laura and Nate start to move in sync, Alex pushes his erection inside. The lubricant makes it easy for him to sink his member inside Laura’s anus, and when he’s fully inside her, he matches Nate’s and Laura’s movements.

Laura then opens her eyes for a second only to stare right into Nate’s gray eyes. There’s a look of longing and love in them, and Laura has never felt more lucky than she does tonight. These two men will do anything to protect her, keep her safe, and pleasure her.

There’s no way it can get better than this.

  Epilogue

“Let’s all toast to Laura! I have no doubt she’ll bring the company to new highs!”

“To Laura!” everyone cheers, raising their arms up in the air and clinking their champagne glasses together.

Laura’s used to the attention of men in the bedroom. What she isn’t used to is the having a whole room full of people hanging onto her every word. After that night Nate and Alex found her trapped in Madison’s residence, they bought out the company the very next morning. To her surprise, they designated her as the new Chief Executive Officer of Love in the Net. It’s only been a week since she started working for the company again, but she feels like she’s right where she needs to be. She knows the business model, how the company operates, the demands and interests of their customers, and firsthand accounts of both the clients and the employees. She can run the company. She’ll do her very best not to disappoint Nate and Alex after everything they’ve done for her. A hand on her shoulder cuts her train of thought, and when she turns her head to the side, she sees Alex looking down at her.

&
nbsp; “No ‘thank you’ speech?” he teases, then stepping to the side to stand beside Nate.

Laura lets out a quick, throaty cough and then takes a sip of her champagne. There’s really not much to say anymore. She’s talked to all the employees in the past seven days. All she can really say is, “thank you. I’ve said it countless time, but I want to thank all of you for believing me. To Nate and Alex, thank you for giving me this responsibility. I won’t disappoint you two.”

“That’s what we like to hear,” says Nate, raising his glass up and then letting Laura continue.

“To all my colleagues, thank you for making me feel like I’m part of a family. I know some of the goals we’ve set out for this year are daunting, but as long as we work together and stick to the company’s principles and vision, we’ll hit all our targets and much more. Again, thank you, and let’s eat, drink, and dance the night away!”

When the cheers die down, Laura excuses herself to head back to her office. It’s better to shut down her desktop now rather than later, so she can enjoy the rest of the night partying with her colleagues. In the middle of her laptop shutting down, Alex and Nate enter her office. Alex walks over to her side while Nate draws the curtains toward the middle. With her room closed off from the rest of the office, Laura can’t help but lift the corners of her lips up into a mischievous smile.

“We have a party to get back to,” she says, as Alex walks closer to her and props his hands on each side of her waist.

Behind him, Nate is looking at them with an intensity that excites her. If looks could undress…

“How about we start a private party here?” Alex says, slowly closing the distance between their lips.

When his mouth is a hairsbreadth away from hers, she props her hands on his toned chest. A light chuckle escapes her full lips, and to Alex and Nate, that’s music to their ears.

“I have a company to run,” she says, stepping away from the two men and knowing very well how dangerous being so close to them can be. “A company you assigned me to.”

With that, Laura opens the door, her hips moving left to right, as she walks back to where everyone else is. Looking at one another, Alex and Nate can only shake their heads and muster a sly grin on their faces.

  There’s always time later.

  CHAPTER ONE

  Candace

I had never seen someone get so angry, so quietly, as the librarian at the Penn State Paterno Library.

She was a skinny old woman with a hook nose and reading glasses on a lanyard. Her lips were puckered so tight that they practically disappeared in her face, leaving behind a small asterisk shape where her mouth used to be. Her high cheekbones were red and her eyebrows were drawn so far down that I could barely even see her eyes. She somehow managed to achieve all of that by just glaring at my boyfriend.

In fact, everyone in the library was glaring at him, including myself, as he paced up and down the area in front of the circulation desk, talking loudly on his Bluetooth headset.

"I know, Manley, I was talking to my broker this morning, but he refused to sell, he said it was preposterous—"

I had been in the library poring over my most recent assignment. I was doing a research paper about lead poisoning in low-income communities and how it affects childhood development and behavioral health. I was into the subject, being a passionate grad student in the social work program at Penn State, but the research phase of the assignment required my full concentration. Unfortunately, whenever I was with Brad, he would settle for nothing less than my undivided attention. When he came to the library to “study with me," and I actually focused on studying, he thought it would be a good time to call one of his rich friends and have this embarrassingly loud, over-privileged conversation.

See, not so long ago, Brad had been one of the most wonderful guys I'd ever met. When we first started dating, he was attentive, sweet, and complimentary. He treated me better than any other guy I'd known. Moments like these, I wondered where that wonderful boy had gone, and when had he been replaced by this childish monster? Things had been getting rougher and rougher over the last few months. It didn’t help that I was working my ass off to keep my grades up since I was only in grad school by the grace of a full-ride scholarship.

I knew he would stop if I paid attention to him, but I knew if I did that, I would only validate his behavior, thereby signaling him that this kind of stuff was okay with me. I felt so stuck, so anxious that my meager lunch was threatening to come back up if something didn't give. The librarian's infinite patience finally snapped and she marched out from behind her desk, tapping Brad on the shoulder. He whirled around and scowled at her, gesturing at his headset.

"Can you please take your conversation into the hallway?" the librarian asked, folding her arms.

Brad mouthed the words, I'm on the phone to her.

I buried my face in my hands as he continued talking, humiliating me even further. His voice was so loud. Every syllable was like a cheese grater on my already raw nerves. I didn't need this shit. It was the last week before spring break, for crying out loud, and I had so much work to do. Why couldn't Brad behave like a decent human being just this once? Was that too much to ask?

A little bit of my lunch actually regurgitated into my throat, so I leaped to my feet and marched over to Brad. I shoved him in the shoulder, my patience completely gone. "Brad, you big idiot, you're in the library. Either shut up or go outside, you're disturbing everyone."

"Oh, sorry baby doll," he cooed, "I didn't realize I was that loud. Manley and I are excited about this investment—"

"Yeah, hun, that's great. Can you please take it outside?"

Wounded that I had interrupted him, Brad pulled his face into a childish pout. Lucky for him, he was beyond gorgeous. He looked like Ashton Kutcher, Brad Pitt, and Channing Tatum all rolled into one, but cuter. He knew all too well, that all he had to do was pout at me and I would melt. And I did. Every. Single. Time. I hated myself for it, but when he stuck his lip out like that and gave me the puppy eyes, I swear to God, I could feel it in my ovaries.

"S-sorry... sorry," I mumbled, shaking my head, wondering how I ended up apologizing to him, "I didn't mean to snap. C'mon." Like the big baby he was, only when I took his arm and dragged him out of the library did he cooperate, continuing his conversation until we got into the hallway.

He chose that moment to hang up.

"Sorry babe, but you know, important guy talk," Brad said, removing the Bluetooth piece from his ear.

"Yeah, it sounded really important," I said, fighting the urge to roll my eyes because I knew that would set him off. "Look, hun, if you don't want to wait, why don't we meet up later? I really need to finish this paper. It's the final section of my research midterm and—"

"Fine. Although, you said you wanted to study together. I guess you just don't want me around." Brad hung his head once again and looked away. It was like being punched in the gut. I instantly felt guilty as hell.

"It's not that, I just have a lot of work to do," I said, taking his hand. "You know I want to spend time with you."

"Sure," he said, sounding completely unconvinced. "Dinner, then?"

"Yeah, that'd be great. Let's meet up in a couple of hours and go for pizza. I can't remember the last time I had something other than protein bars and microwave dinners." I smiled at him. "And after that, we can go back to my place and... I dunno, watch a movie or something? You know, cuddle?"

"Sure," he said with a nod, "sounds good."

"Okay, let's meet at Tony's in my neighborhood. I'll be there around six."

"Okay." He leaned in to kiss my cheek. "Have fun studying, babe."

"Fun. Right… See ya." I kissed him back and watched him walk away, admiring his ass while I wondered how it was that I had never seen Brad studying or doing coursework of any kind, ever. How did he manage to stay in
school without ever doing any of the work? Then again, there were plenty of nasty rumors going around, about how Brad's family paid and bribed his way through school. I didn't want to believe them, as I was in the habit of giving everyone the benefit of the doubt multiple times over, but I was in such a crappy mood that day, that I almost let myself believe it.

  Almost.

  Video Call later?

A text from my best friend, Nina. She still lived in Philadelphia with her folks since they couldn't afford to send her to school and she hadn't gotten a scholarship. She took classes at the community college here and there and worked part-time at a garden center. Her dream job was to become a landscape designer, but work in that field was scarce, to say the least, especially right in the middle of the city where most "landscapes" were tiny, three-by-three squares of dirt in the middle of the pavement. Nina, however, insisted that there was plenty of work in the suburbs. She'd even landed a couple of gigs out there, doing maintenance work on people's yards, but not the grand landscapes she always envisioned in her mind. We talked over phone a couple times a week, and I knew she needed it. She'd just broken up with her Girlfriend and was struggling with depression. Once again, I felt that anxious nausea because I had already promised to spend the evening with Brad.
