“You’re not happy?” asked McGlashan as they sat together in the mess room.
“Relieved. Satisfied. If I knew that was the last Dreamer warship, then I might feel happiness.”
“I know what you mean. We’ve earned some time to prepare.”
“And some shore leave,” he said with a smile.
“I hope so. We’ve earned it.”
He put his arm around her and this time he did feel happy, if only for this fleeting moment.
