Gabi binned the coffee capsule and lifted the cup to her lips. She gasped in delight as the warm liquid went down. It was just what she needed. She was about to exit the kitchen when Ben walked in.
“Hi.” He grinned.
His eyes ran the full length of her body. She was wearing a figure-hugging, red, knee-length dress, and black Louboutin heels. Her hair was scraped up in a long ponytail, and hung glamorously down her back. Her lips had also been stained in Max Factor’s Ruby Red. She’d made a bit more of an effort that morning. She was meeting Darion after work at his new bar. She was excited and curious to see what it was like.
“Hello,” she responded cheerily.
“It’s nice and bright today, isn’t it?” he asked, filling a glass with water, and leaning against the counter.
Gabi smiled at the polite weather chit-chat, and peered out of the window. The blue sky was clear of clouds. The sun blared through the window. It was times like this when she wished she was sitting at a pub terrace, shopping along the high street, or reading a book in the garden.
“How are you finding Miller & Co?”
Ben nodded vehemently. “I like it. Everyone I’ve met so far has been really nice.”
“That’s good to hear. What do you enjoy reading?”
“Thrillers, mystery, crime, non-fiction. You?”
Chick-lit, romance, erotica. Gabi averted her gaze, deciding not to reveal her guilty pleasure reads, and said, “Contemporary fiction mostly.”
Ben was attractive in a clean shaven, pretty-boy way, with dark, short hair, and brown eyes. When he asked her how her weekend had been, and she’d disclosed her antics, he revealed he’d been to the library, visited art museums, and seen family. He was the complete opposite of Darion. She had been so used to Darion’s complex lifestyle, she’d almost forgotten how nice and easy it was to speak to other men, who appeared not to have a past of dark desires, and baggage. It was actually refreshing.
“Well, um…I better get some work done.” He placed his glass down. “It was nice to properly meet you, Gabi.”
“Yes. You too.”
“I’ll see you around.”
When he left, Mallory dashed in. “Ooh. Did you just meet Ben?” she asked.
Mallory had been back from the Maldives for a few days. Gabi envied her golden suntan, and the hundreds of photographs she’d shown her. It had looked like complete paradise. Mallory had gushed at how she and Steve were even closer. Gabi had always believed Mallory had found her perfect match. They complemented, rather than complicated one another’s lives. It made her question her relationship with Darion again. Was love meant to be so hard?
“So, do you think he’s cute?” Mallory asked.
“He’s okay.”
“How’s your morning going?” She rinsed her cup under the tap.
“Busy. Yours?”
“Same.”
“You heard much from Suzie?”
“I spoke to her yesterday. She loves being pregnant. She’s got a few months left now.” She threw Gabi a sympathetic look. “You know, I still can’t believe Darion has a son.”
“Me either.”
“It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t with Gina.”
“Yeah, and they’re living together.” She shrugged a shoulder. “But then again, I don’t think it matters much who it’s with.”
“Have you seen the baby yet?”
“No. I should be meeting him tonight.”
“I hope it goes okay, Gab. Remember, this is all new to Darion too.”
“I know,” she mumbled. “I’ll also be seeing his new bar Retox, later.”
“What sort of bar is it?” She eyed her suspiciously.
Gabi threw her head back with a soft laugh. “A normal bar, Mal.”
“Good. The last thing you need is more stuff to worry about.”
“Don’t I know it.”
Gabi gave her a little wave and headed to her office. The photograph on her desk caught her attention. It was of her and Darion standing on the bridge in London. They looked happy, like they didn’t have a single care in the world, although, the picture had been taken before she’d been hit with his news. She picked it up, and ran her finger across his face. He was so sexy. She was completely seduced by everything about him. She wished he was before her so she could kiss his full lips, and run her fingers through his hair. She placed the photo flat down on the table. She’d find it hard to concentrate otherwise.
It was an hour later of editing a manuscript when her mobile rang.
“Hi.”
“Hey, darlin’.” The provocative tone of his voice sent shivers up her spine. “How’s your day going?”
“Not too bad. How about yours?”
“Noisy. I’m about to cook up some dinner.”
The loud crying of the baby in the background filled the line. Gabi held the mobile away from her ear for a moment. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah. We’ve got a hospital appointment later so they can do some checks on Preston.”
“I hope it goes okay.”
“Thanks…Gina,” he yelled. “Do you want some food?”
Gabi heard Gina’s voice and her stomach somersaulted. She hated the jealousy that took over her. She got to spend every single day with Darion. She was able to wake up with him there, have breakfast and dinner with him, and see him at night, when he wasn’t with Gabi. She wondered if they watched TV or films together, if they shared a bottle of wine on the night, chatting. Rubbing her aching temple, she tried to rein in her worrying thoughts. She’d see for herself later what the relationship between them was now like. She hoped it was civil for the baby, and not because Gina had other motives.
“Gabi, I’ve gotta go. I’ll see you at Retox later.”
“Sure.”
She was about to end the call on a miserable sigh when he added, “I love you. You know that, right?”
“I love you too.”
She was pleased he was expressing his feelings more. Eva had made him feel needy and pathetic when he’d declared his love. Gabi needed him to say it, and not just show her he cared through sex. It had taken a while to get Darion to trust her and open up. She hoped it stayed that way.
Later that evening, Gabi was in Westhaven outside Retox. Through the window she could see it was fairly busy. The music was loud enough to hear from the street, a mixture of rock and vocal metal. Clutching her bag, she smiled at the doorman, and entered the premises. She surveyed her surroundings in awe. It was modern, elegant, and so different from his last club. The fact everyone was fully clothed made her feel much more secure.
Sliding onto a stool at the bar, she curiously examined the barmaids. She couldn’t help but notice how pretty they were. She knew it was expected really, if Darion wanted to lure in customers. Her mouth fell when she noticed a barman also, and a good looking one at that. She was pleasantly surprised. She’d thought Darion hated competition. Perhaps he’d saw sense and realised the women needed eye-candy too.
“What can I get you?” The brunette with blue streaks in her hair approached her.
“Is Darion here?”
“He’s in his office. Want me to get him?”
“Please.”
“Who shall I say is asking?”
“His girlfriend.”
Gabi noticed her stare sweep over her entire body. Her lips curled at the sides, as if in approval. When she disappeared through the door, Gabi ordered a glass of white wine. When “Tainted Love” by Marilyn Manson pounded from the speakers, she had a sudden urge to dance. Finishing her wine in several gulps, she ordered another. The dancing crowd around her seemed to be enjoying themselves. The cute barman handed her another drink with a wink.
“What’s the strongest drink you have?” she shouted over the music. She wondered if Darion was still stocking the devil’s drink.
“Absinthe.”
She couldn’t help but laugh. Darion didn’t mess about. “I’ll have a shot please.”
His brow rose
. “You sure you can handle it?”
“I’m sure.” Darion had taught her well. The very first time she had met him he’d persuaded her into having two shots of Absinthe. At eighty percent, it was harsh to the throat but got you merry quickly.
When the barman handed her a shot of the green liquid, she tossed it back. As always it tore through her throat like hot flames. She grimaced.
“Honey, Darion’s on a call. He’ll be out in a sec.” The brunette had returned.
“Okay.”
Gabi gulped back her second glass of wine, and stood up. She didn’t know whether it was the alcohol, or desperately needing to let her hair down, but her confidence soared. She wove through the crowd until she was in the middle of dancing bodies. Then she swayed her hips and arms from side to side. As the music and laughter rang loud in her ears, all of her worries seemed to dissipate.
Spinning around, she took in the DJ, who she hadn’t noticed before. The drunken crowd were really letting loose considering it was only mid-week. Continuing to grind her hips, she twirled around again on a giggle. The absinthe was really taking effect.
Heat flooded through her body, and she was certain she could feel Darion’s presence. The hairs on her neck stood on end. A girl moved out of the way. Then she saw him. Her dancing slowed down. At the corner of the bar Darion stood looking as delicious and tempting as ever. Dressed smartly in navy jeans, a matching shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, and his hair neatly gelled back, she understood why several sets of eyes were on him. When he casually strolled toward her, her heartbeat quickened.
She gasped when a hand gripped her buttocks. Her head shot around to the culprit. A stumbling blond man smirked at her. Before Gabi could scold him, Darion had him gripped by the collar.
“Touch her again and you’ll never set foot in this club again. Understand?” His tone was low and vicious, his glare murderous.
“Okay.” The man stepped back with a scowl, smoothing his shirt down.
Darion’s eyes were then back on her. His features softened, and he snaked his arm around her waist, and pulled her into him.
“Having fun?” A wicked glint flashed in his pupils.
“I’d have more fun if you stopped threatening people.”
“I didn’t hit him.” He smiled, appearing somewhat pleased.
“Fair enough.” She shrugged.
“Don’t stop dancing,” he ordered, greedily taking her in.
“Lucky bitch,” Gabi heard a girl behind her giggle to her friend.
“I wouldn’t mind a bit of him,” the other said.
Gabi shook her head in amusement, whilst Darion laughed his usual dirty-sounding laugh. Yeah, they couldn’t handle you, Gabi wanted to say. They looked way too innocent to enter the dark world of Darion Milano.
“I love the new bar,” she told him.
“Me too. It’s less stressful than the club.”
His arm anchored her against his solid body. Her nostrils were invaded with the scent of his cologne. Heat radiated from him, and lust assailed her. As she felt him hardening in his trousers, her internal muscles began to spasm as he ignited all of her senses. Not breaking their hard stares, she ran her hands down his impressive biceps, all the way to his ass, where she yanked him even closer. Their hips collided as their bodies fell in sync with the music.
“I thought you didn’t dance,” Gabi murmured against his ear before tugging on it with her teeth.
“This isn’t dancing,” his voice was low and husky. He winked suggestively.
Gabi dropped her head with a laugh. His erection skimming between her legs caused her to groan in pleasure. He was rock hard. Her insatiable need for him increased. Her sex clenched and throbbed, aching for contact.
“I’ve a new office desk that needs christening.” He continued to grind into her teasingly, causing the pressure to build in her groin.
“Let’s go,” she panted, flicking her tongue over his bottom lip.
Darion sucked her tongue into his mouth. Then he caressed firmly, licking and sucking. It was a full on kiss that left them both breathless. His fingers buried into her hair, where he gripped it roughly. Gabi retaliated by biting on his bottom lip. He grimaced and possessed her mouth again, savagely, trapping her moans.
“I want you,” his breathing was harsh in her ear. “Now.”
Taking her by the hand, he led her toward the bar area. He was met with his bar staff. Obviously not wanting to be rude, he introduced them to Gabi.
“Whenever she’s here, all drinks are on the house. She’s welcome to come on through to the office anytime. Okay?”
They all nodded in unison.
“It was nice meeting you all.” Gabi waved before she was shoved through the door. She had to practically sprint to keep up with Darion’s hurried strides. When she was in his office, and he was locking the door, she got a quick glimpse of her fancy surroundings.
“Get on the desk.”
She rolled her eyes at his impatience, but did as she was told. Her heart swelled when she noticed his laptop screensaver was a photo of her sleeping that he’d taken in their early days of being together. He carefully placed the laptop on the side, and then pushed her further onto the desk. Papers and stationary scattered to the floor. Darion didn’t waste any time in bunching up her dress and peeling off her underwear.
“Open your legs.”
“Darion…” A blush flamed her cheeks.
“Gabi.” He towered over her. He cocked his head to the side and gave her a salacious grin that unnerved her. “Surely you’re not still shy around me.”
“Sometimes,” she confessed with a low giggle. You make me fucking nervous. Anticipation coursed through her veins and she never knew what his next move would be. She hesitated for a second, but then parted her legs.
Darion’s stare swept over her slowly and admiringly. His tongue traced along his bottom lip. She slid across the wood as he settled her on the edge. Then he crouched down, and his wet, flickering tongue was between her legs.
“Oh…” she moaned, her head rolling back.
Grabbing fistfuls of his hair, she silently begged him not to stop. His tongue licked up and down her clit, causing heat to suffuse the area. Her inner muscles throbbed as a needy ache loomed in her stomach. His swirling tongue and the feel of his hot breath made her cry out. When Darion glanced up at her, she could see the animalistic hunger on his face. With no warning, his fingers plunged into her deeply.
“Ah…” She bit her lip.
The slow thrusting then became pleasurable as her body accepted it. Her breaths were short and sharp, and she was shuddering. She couldn’t resist from watching him, and noticing how the muscles in his biceps swelled with each movement.
Returning to pleasure her with his skilled tongue, she rocked her hips against his face. When he met her sensitive spot, she gripped the edge of the desk. It was so good she feared she’d orgasm any second. Delightful vibrations rushed through her whole body. Her pelvis was burning up, needing release.
“Don’t stop,” she pleaded.
Then he stopped, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
“What are you doing?” She sat up.
He pushed himself to his feet, and didn’t say a word. Stripping himself of his shirt, he then unzipped his jeans, and allowed them, and his boxers to fall down his legs. Gabi swallowed as he stepped out of them. She was level with his erection, which was close to her lips. She reached out and closed her palm around the shaft. When she took him in her mouth, she heard him grunt in pleasure. She circled her tongue around the glistening head, before taking all of him deep in her throat.
“Fuck, Gabi…” he groaned, bucking upwards. “That…feels…so…good,” he murmured breathlessly.
She tugged back and forth with her hand whilst sucking firmly. She loved seeing him aroused. When she licked the groove under the tip, his groaning got louder, as if it was torturous and he urgently needed to come. As she placed her palms on his smooth butt
ocks, she guided him back and forth. She could feel his thighs trembling. He was soaking with her saliva as she took as much of him as she could.
“Fuck.” He wriggled.
Gently massaging his balls, he thrust into her deeper. In and out fast. When his grunts were more frequent, and she felt his whole body shuddering, she stopped.
“Don’t stop.”
She stood up and pushed him. His legs hit the sofa, and he dropped onto it with a thud. As he lay there completely naked, she studied his perfect physique and impressive cock. Crawling up the sofa, she straddled him. Darion’s lips were parted, his chest rising and falling with his heavy breathing. Lifting herself up, she lowered herself onto him. His lubricated shaft made it easier for her body to connect with his.
“Oh, Gabi…”
She moved up and down, riding him slowly and teasingly. His nails dug into her hips and she knew he wanted it faster, harder. So she gave him everything she had. She rocked her hips, taking all of him. Each time she dropped onto his length, they cried out together. Darion gripped her buttocks and helped push her body up and down.
Clenching his teeth, he then tore her dress over her head. Gabi frantically unclasped her bra, her nipples swelling, needing some sort of pleasure. Sitting up, Darion’s mouth wrapped around her breast. His tongue sucked and flicked against her nipple. Then he bit it roughly.
“Hmmm…” She winced.
“You like that?” he asked, closing his teeth around it again and pulling.
“Ah. Stop,” she warned, shooting him with a look, and continuing to push herself against him.
“Or what?” he asked, with a challenging lift of his brows.
To show him she wasn’t afraid of him, she sunk her teeth into his neck, hard. He screamed out. When she looked at his face, which was red with rage, she giggled. Gritting his teeth, Darion withdrew. She didn’t get chance to move as he spun her around. He positioned himself behind her, and pushed her face into the sofa. On all fours, her buttocks was pulled up, and he rammed into her forcefully. Darion preferred it when he had full control. She didn’t mind one bit. She loved being dominated.
She reached down to stroke her clit simultaneously, causing tingles to race through her body. Darion swivelled his hips, and then pulled back to teasingly graze her entrance with the tip of his cock. She hated it when he kept her waiting. Then he pounded into her again, filling her completely, making her body shoot forwards. His thrusts were merciless and relentless.
