“Exactly.” He smiled. “Let’s forget about him for the moment. I want to eat, drink, then take my woman to bed and fuck her into oblivion.”

  I shivered. “Yes, please.”

He chuckled, and grabbed a plate of his own, keeping his promise by taking me to bed just after eleven. He kept me up until midnight with his magical tongue, but I slept deep and woke ready to face the day.

  CHAPTER THIRTEEN

  Posey

“WHEN’S YOUR LAST client?” Shadow asked as he handed me a to-go cup of coffee.

  “Three.”

  “No other classes?”

“Just the one in an hour,” I said. “Jane typically does Wednesday classes so I can see massage clients, but she needed me to fill in this morning.”

  “Off tomorrow?”

  I smiled. “Yes, off tomorrow.”

  “I’ll plan something.”

  “You will?”

  “Yeah. It’ll be fun.”

  I grinned. “Can’t wait.”

He kissed me and I headed to the studio. After the class, I’d booked five clients with fifteen minutes between each. I don’t know what possessed me to do this, but I vowed I’d never do it again. By the time I dragged my butt out to my car, I was dead on my feet.

  “Posey!”

I turned toward the voice and scowled.

  “Wait.”

“No, Carl, what the hell are you doing here?”

I put the car door between him and me, but I knew if he really wanted to get to me, it wasn’t much in the way of protection.

“Don’t move,” he ordered, and I froze for a split second before my flight instinct kicked in. I climbed into my car, locked the door, and started the engine, pulling out of my space just as he reached it. I heard him yelling as I drove away, and my heart didn’t start to calm until I was several miles from the studio.

  So, I called Shadow.

“Hey, baby,” he said, answering after the first ring.

  “Hi.”

  “What’s wrong?” he demanded.

  “Carl was at the studio.”

  “What the fuck?”

  “His eye was black.”

“His whole fuckin’ body’s gonna be black before the weekend.”

“I don’t even know how he’d know I was there.”

“Your schedule’s not on your website?”

“No. He knows Jane usually teaches on Wednesdays.” I sighed. “I think he’s becoming a problem.”

“Don’t go home,” he said. “Head to the barn. I’ll meet you there.”

“Crap, I’m going the wrong way,” I said. “What if he’s following me?”

“Then he’s gonna get met by at least a dozen bikers who’ve got your back.”

  “Good point.”

“Need me to stay on the line with you?” he asked.

“No, I’m good. I’ll see you soon.”

We hung up and I flipped a U-turn and headed to the club.

“You have got to be kidding me,” I hissed, glancing in the rearview and seeing Carl’s car directly behind me. I narrowed my eyes and growled. “Okay, asshole, let’s see how you feel about my new friends.”

I sped up a little, but Carl had no problem pacing me, so I slowed down and followed all the rules of the road. I was so over this asshole and his bullshit.

As I drew closer to the giant gates of protection, I saw them begin to open and I rolled down my window as I turned right into the entrance.

“Don’t stop!” Shutter ordered, and I drove through, passing a big Ford truck as I headed toward the barn.

  Shadow

I pulled my bike up to the gates less than ten minutes after I hung up with Posey and arrived to Shutter standing over a man who appeared to be unconscious. I got off my bike, dropping my helmet on the seat, then making my way to Shutter.

“What the fuck happened?” I demanded.

“This guy’s like a fuckin’ venereal disease,” Shutter hissed. “He won’t go the fuck away.”

The gates opened and Doc pulled his truck part way through. “Fill me in.”

“Don’t know much,” I said. “Just that he’s been stalkin’ Posey.”

“He showed up at her apartment the day we moved her out,” Shutter added. “I gave him a message that he has decided to ignore.”

Our Sergeant at Arms, Alamo, jogged up followed by Dash. “What’s goin’ on?” Alamo asked.

  “Piece o’ shit’s stalkin’ Posey,” I growled.

“Right,” Doc said. “Let’s get him to the basement. Dash you drive his car to the back, Alamo, ride shotgun and keep him secured.”

Alamo nodded as Dash slid into Carl’s car.

“I’ll check on Posey, then meet you,” I said, and we moved in tandem to take care of the problem.

I rode up to the barn and parked, rushing inside and finding Posey pacing the great room. I pulled her in for a hug and asked, “You okay?”

“Yes,” she said, hugging me back. “Just pissed.”

“Did Rabbit look at your phone?”

  “He has it. Why?”

  “Just a hunch,” I said.

“Did Carl leave?” she asked, and I forced a smile.

I didn’t want to lie to her, but I also wasn’t about to share what we would more than likely do to him.

  Luckily, we were interrupted.

  “Shadow!” Rabbit bellowed.

“I’m right here,” I bellowed back.

“Ow, my ear,” Posey said with a whimper.

“Sorry, baby.” I gave her a gentle squeeze.

“Got somethin’,” Rabbit called, this time a little quieter than before.

“Let’s go see what Rabbit found.”

I took her hand and led her down the hall to the offices, pushing open the door and stepping back for her to precede me in.

Rabbit gave us a chin lift.

“What did you find?” I asked.

“Your ex is an asshole,” Rabbit said.

“Tell me something I don’t know,” Posey said with a sigh.

  “How bad?” I asked.

Rabbit turned to face us, and I scowled when he said, “Bad.”

  “What?” Posey whispered.

“Your asshole ex put spyware on your phone.”

  “What kind of spyware?”

“The kind that gave him access to your emails, texts, social media, and a GPS tracker without you knowing a goddamned thing.”

Posey gasped, leaning heavily against me. I wrapped my arm around her waist and held her tight.”

  “Take it off,” she demanded.

“I can,” Rabbit said. “Unless you want to catch him.”

“We already caught him,” I said.

“What?” Posey snapped her head up to meet my eyes. “You did? I thought you said he left.”

“I never said that,” I pointed out.

She wrinkled her nose, then focused back on Rabbit. “What do you mean by catch him?”

  “Set a trap.”

“Which will require you keeping my phone, right?”

  “Yeah.”

“My whole life is on that phone, Rabbit. I have to have it with me.”

“Just wipe it, brother,” I said. “We’ll deal with Carl.”

  “Meaning what exactly?” Posey asked.

“Not sure yet,” I said. “But it’ll be permanent.”

  “You cannot kill him.”

“Jesus, Posey, we’re not gonna kill him.”

“He may wish he was dead…” Rabbit grumbled, and I glared at him.

“You can’t maim him either,” Posey ordered.

  “Rabbit,” I ground out.

“Shadow won’t maim him,” Rabbit assured her, but her locked body indicated she didn’t really believe him.

“I don’t want you to maim him either,” she ordered.

“I’m not in this,” he said. “I’m gonna work on the electronic side of shit. Leave Carl’s physical punishment to my br
others.”

  Posey sighed.

“Do you know his social?” Rabbit asked.

  “Security number?”

  “Yeah.”

  Posey nodded. “Yes.”

“Great. You got a problem with me making his life difficult?”

  “Is it illegal?”

“Depends on who you ask,” Rabbit said.

“Law enforcement personnel,” she bit out. “Can you get in trouble for it?”

Rabbit faced her again, setting his hands on his knees. “No one will ever know what happened, so no, I can’t get in trouble for it.”

  “Then do your worst.”

Rabbit’s face lit up with a grin. “Your woman’s fuckin’ cool, Shadow.”

I kissed the top of her head as I nodded. “You hang with Rabbit for a bit,” I said. “Doc needs me to do somethin’.”

Posey looked up at me. “How long will you be?”

  “Not long.”

I kissed her and made my way down to the basement.

  Posey

“Is he doing something dangerous?” I asked Rabbit.

“No,” Rabbit said, but I didn’t fully trust him. I think he could tell, because he smiled. “Seriously, he’s covered, Posey. Don’t worry.”

I sighed and nodded. The truth was, I trusted Shadow, so even if I didn’t know Rabbit and whether or not he was truthful, I knew Shadow and knew that he’d do everything he could to be safe.

“Okay, I need his social and birthdate,” Rabbit said.

For the next half-hour or so, Rabbit asked me a series of questions about Carl, some of them I knew, some I didn’t, but I gave him what I could until his wife knocked on the door.

“Hey, Pebbles,” he said with a grin. “You’re early.”

She smiled. “Yeah, the kids are exhausted, so I figured I’d put them down here in case the meeting goes long.”

  “You need help?” he asked.

“No, honey, they’re down. Figured I’d come rescue Posey and tempt her with wine.”

  “Yes,” I hissed. “Tempt me.”

Parker chuckled. “Willow’s cooking, so Jasmine’s opened two bottles of red.”

“You’re speaking my language,” I retorted, and rose to my feet.

“I’ve got a few things to do,” Rabbit said. “But I’m here if you need me.”

“We’ve only got a couple more days until you’re gone.” Parker leaned down and kissed him. “Come find me when you’re done.”

  “I will.”

Parker and I made our way out to the kitchen and found all of the old ladies milling around the big stainless-steel island.

“Posey!” Jasmine squealed, pulling me in for a hug. “How are you, girl?”

I chuckled. “I’ll be better when I get some wine in my system.”

Willow handed me a glass. “Here.”

I grinned, sipping the deliciousness, and making the decision to relax even if it took an entire bottle of wine for me to do it.

“Did Shadow tell you it was church tonight?” Willow asked.

  “He goes to church?”

Olivia laughed so hard, she did a literal spit take.

“It’s their weekly meeting. Typically, it’s just the officers, but once a month is all-hands,” Willow explained. “Which is why we’re here. Us ladies typically join them during all-hands and make food.”

“Whatever you’re making smells incredible,” I said, taking another sip of wine.

“Oh, this is nothing,” Willow said. “Mac and cheese. Super easy.”

“Crack and cheese,” Dash countered as he walked in the room and kissed Willow. Hard. In front of everyone.

I blushed a little and focused on my wine as the kiss went on for a while.

Luckily, they were distracted by other men walking into the kitchen, which broke their connection.

“Jesus, you makin’ that crack and cheese shit?” an older man by the name of Gator asked Willow.

Before she could answer, Alfie and Kinsey rushed into the room. “Pop Pop!” Alfie squealed. “Come play tea party with us.”

Gator lifted Alfie and kissed her cheek as Kinsey wrapped her arms around Badger who’d walked in with Dash.

“Pop’s got church, baby,” Willow said.

“After?” she asked, hopefully, and Dash chuckled.

“Nice try, baby girl. You know you’ll be in bed long before the meeting’s over.”

“Daddy,” she whined, hugging Gator’s neck closer.

Gator smiled at Alfie. “Well, maybe—”

  “Gator,” Willow warned.

“We can play next family night,” Gator improvised. “Or I can come over this week for dinner.”

“Nice save, old man,” Willow retorted, and Gator laughed, setting Alfie on her feet.

“You can play pinball for twenty minutes,” Willow said.

“May I play pinball, Mama?” Kinsey asked Quin.

  “Go for it.”

She took Alfie’s hand and they rushed out of the room with girly squeals.

Shadow walked in a few seconds later and grinned. “Crack and cheese?”

Willow nodded. “It’s not gonna be ready for twenty minutes,” she warned. “So why don’t y’all go do biker things while we finish up in here.”

The men filed out of the kitchen just as Dylan rushed in and gave Shadow a chin lift. Shadow took the wine from my hand and set it on the counter. “Come with me.”

Shadow led me down the hall and into a room with a large table. There was a Dogs of Fire flag under glass on top of it, along with an American flag on the wall and framed photos of bikers, old and new, covering the walls.

“What did you find?” Shadow asked.

Dylan held his hand out and sitting in the middle of his palm was something black and round. It looked a bit like a hockey puck.

“Goddamn fuckin’ piece of shit,” Shadow bellowed.

  “What is that?” I asked.

“Tracking device,” Dylan said. “It was attached to your car.”

“What?” I turned to Shadow. “Did Carl put a tracking device on my car?”

  “Looks like it,” Shadow hissed.

“No wonder he knew where I was all the time.”

“Thanks, Dylan,” Shadow said, and Dylan set the tracker on the table and walked out the door. Shadow wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. “We’re gonna deal with it.”

I sighed. “I’m gonna let you.”

He cupped my face and stroked the apple of my cheeks. “Can you do any of your classes online?”

“Possibly,” I said. “But I can’t see massage clients that way.”

He smirked. “I want you escorted to and from the studio, whether it’s by me or one of my brothers.”

“Do you really think that’s necessary?”

“Humor me.” He kissed me gently, and I nodded.

I slid my hands under his vest and up his back. “I can do that.”

  “Thank you.”

“Soup’s on!” a deep voice bellowed from the kitchen.

“I think Gator’s losing his hearing,” Shadow complained.

I smiled. “Is he Dash or Willow’s dad.”

“Neither. Gator’s wife and daughter died years ago and he kind of went off the rails. He was in a homeless shelter for a while.”

“Oh my word, when was this?”

“Forever ago,” Shadow said. “Our Portland chapter took him in and when Doc offered to take him on as a member here, Gator jumped at the chance. He hates the rain. He’d been here for a little while and got really close with Dash. He’s got no family, so when Dash met Willow, Gator adopted her as well. Her dad was murdered so Gator became her surrogate dad.”

I bit back tears. “That’s both really sad and really sweet at the same time.”

Shadow smiled gently. “Yeah. When we claim you, we claim you for good.”

I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him. “I like that, honey.”

I took his hand and let him lead me out to the great room where food was being set out on a giant table.

  CHAPTER FOURTEEN

  Posey

SHADOW TOOK ME home just after eleven. He drove my car with a plan to pick up his bike the next day for our ‘epic day trip.’ Whatever that meant. I was too tired to ask any questions and barely made it up the walkway to my front door.

Shadow practically carried me back to my bedroom and I stripped down at the side of the bed, crawling between the covers with a sigh. I heard Shadow moving around the space, and then the bed dipped, and he climbed in beside me. Wrapping his arms around me, he kissed the back of my neck. “Night, baby.”

“Wake me in a few hours, okay?”

  “Why?” he asked.

  “To fuck me.”

The bed shook slightly, and I realized he was laughing.

  “Why are you laughing?”

“Because you’re the fuckin’ perfect woman.”

“And that makes you laugh?” I asked, biting back a yawn.

  “Makes me fuckin’ giddy.”

I grinned, sliding my hand across his arm at my waist. “I can handle giddy.”

He gave me a squeeze. “Sleep, baby. I’ll wake you in a few hours and make you giddy too.”

“Okay,” I whispered and quickly fell asleep.

  * * *

Firm fingers pressed against my clit and my hips moved of their own accord as I came awake with a gasp. Shadow’s other hand was cupping a breast, rolling my nipple between his fingers, and my panties were pushed down to my knees.

“Ride my fingers, baby.” He dipped them inside of me, his palm pressing against my clit and I ground my pussy against his hand as he pinched my nipple a little more with each grind.

“I want your dick,” I panted out.

  “Come first,” he ordered.

“I want it now,” I argued.

“And I want you to come first,” he demanded, adding more pressure to my clit.

I lifted my arms, reaching for the headboard and grabbing hold so I had more leverage. I ground so hard, I nearly broke his fingers, but I did as he demanded and came.

“Now. I. Want. Your. Dick,” I hissed, kicking off my panties and shifting so he was on his back and I was straddling him.

  “Condom, baby.”

I leaned down, running my tongue over his pulse. “Are you clean?”

“I got tested yesterday, but I’m always gloved, so, yeah.”
