I felt his arms tighten around me. No, he wasn’t throwing me away. He wouldn’t. Our love was strong. I pushed my insecurities away, just the way Memphis had taught me.

  “Renovate into what?”

“I was hoping you might be interested in turning this old building into a place where kids can go and feel safe. You’ll teach them and help them get their GED or whatever the hell their dreams are. There will be a staff, so you’ll still be able to travel with me. Since the biggest part of it is government funded, you probably won’t get much of a paycheck, but I thought you might enjoy…”

I turned around, jumped into his arms, and wrapped my legs around his waist. I didn’t give a flying fuck who might see us or what they might think about it. “You did this for me? All this? I’m really going to get to do this? My dream?”

“Anything for you, fireball,” he answered after kissing me. “And if I get traded, you’ll open another one up somewhere else. This way, we both get to follow our dreams.”

“Goddammit…I love you so fucking much, Memphis Sawyer.” I started placing kisses all over his face, neck, throat…any place my lips found skin.

“Damn babe, I think we need to go home where I can tie you up and torture you and make love to you for hours.”

I hummed in appreciation and dropped a kiss on his lips. “Sounds just about perfect.”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Shannon West lives in the southern United States, and is a lover and avid reader of M/M romances. Shannon began writing gay romance a few years ago, and now has over ninety short stories, novellas, and novels to her credit. Her stories have been translated into French, Italian, and even one Japanese Yaoi. Her favorite genre is paranormal and most of her characters don’t get really interesting to her until they grow a tail. Shannon loves men and everything about them, and writes Romance (with a capital R) unashamedly and unabashedly. She believes, in the words of Helen Steiner Rice that “love is the answer that everyone seeks, love is the language that every heart speaks.” But she also believes wholeheartedly in the words of Woody Allen, that love may be the answer, but “while you’re waiting for that answer, sex raises some pretty interesting questions.” Shannon mostly spends her days at the keyboard, ably assisted by her cats, Scarlett and Taz, and eluding housework, which stalks her relentlessly.

T.S. McKinney lives in East Tennessee with her high school sweetheart/husband and all the countless dogs she picks up from deserted country roads. Her professional career has been in business but her heart has always belonged to the fantasy world found in books. Creating wicked worlds where one can meet the perfect hero – and then do anything to him that you want – has been a hobby that has brought her plenty of hours of fun and naughty entertainment. When not working, reading, or writing, she loves to spend time with her family and forcing them (because they don’t really have another choice) to allow her to redecorate their houses…and listen to her naughty…sometimes sadistic stories.
