AUTHOR BIOS
ART DAVIE comes from the advertising agency world. He was an account executive and copywriter in West Coast advertising agencies in the USA for many years.
But that was before he had an epiphany in 1993 and created The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) that pitted boxers, wrestlers and martial artists against each other to discover the king of combat sports. The UFC franchise, which exploded on Pay-Per-View TV, and is still going strong decades later, spawned the worldwide sports phenomenon known as mixed martial arts (MMA). In addition to being the UFC’s creator, Davie was the co-producer, booker, and matchmaker, and he served as the Commissioner of Ultimate Fighting.
Davie attended New York Military Academy, St. John’s University and Pace College in New York. After military service in the Marines in Vietnam, Davie worked with youth gangs in New York City. He owned a car dealership and an advertising agency in San Diego. He currently makes his home in Pahrump, Nevada and serves as an example of rugged entrepreneurism
