  He nodded. “You, my lovely wife, are going to have a baby.”

  “But…but I’m not ready!” she exclaimed as he calmly removed the tray and helped her out of bed.

  With the onset of contractions, however, she changed her mind. She definitely was ready to give birth. She allowed her husband to drive her to the hospital, where she labored long and hard all afternoon to hear three little words.

  “It’s a girl.”

  As the doctor placed her baby on her bare abdomen, Krystal stared in disbelief at the tiny arms and legs flailing about. “I did that!” she said to Garret.

  He kissed her. “Yes, you did. Thank you for giving me the perfect valentine.”
