Making Her Nights [Enchanted Nights Book 1] Page 7

by Medina, Marie

He smiled at his thoughts of making love to Adam, enjoying the erotic thrill of sharing the image and feelings with her. He walked her to the door and stood on the porch until her car disappeared into the woods. His thoughts no longer spun in his head in the same perplexing and out-of-control way. The night they’d met she’d told him that his life would never be the same again. He’d imagined he would stay with her forever, but then he’d met Adam. Heath had expected only friendship, but then he had found so much more. He remembered every time Mallory had told him that all things happen for a reason. Even a few missteps couldn’t stop what was meant to be. He knew he trusted his feelings more than he once did, but he still had problems with anxiety at times. Adam had a few concerns as well, but he never let anything get him down. He always stayed optimistic regardless of the circumstances.

Rose had changed a little after Adam had confirmed that the words Heath had uttered in his sleep were true. She’d watched him a little more and listened to him more carefully. He didn’t think he was imagining that. He went back inside, amazed at how sated he still felt. He’d never felt the same about oral sex since the first time Mallory had wrapped her full lips around his cock. He considered his relationship with her and how much he cared for her. The sex always amazed him, and she had always been a true friend who knew how to encourage and calm him. As important as she was to him, he wasn’t in love with her. Other men had wanted to be with him, but he’d never let another man touch him until Adam. Other women had tempted him, but he’d never wanted any woman the way he wanted Rose. Before her, he couldn’t have imagined sharing Adam with anyone else or falling in love with someone else while he was with Adam. How did it happen? How did caring for someone transition from one form of love to another? What did it mean? Mallory always said people meant to find each other would do so if they only opened up to the possibilities surrounding them. It was a beautiful way of looking at the world.

He heard Adam pull up and went back out to help with the groceries. He told him about Mallory coming over and their conversation.

Adam smiled when they got everything into the kitchen. “I thought you looked a little too satisfied. She couldn’t keep her mouth off me when I went to see her.” He pushed Heath against the fridge and kissed him with a deep hunger.

“Can’t blame her,” Heath said when their lips parted for a moment. He felt every part of his body respond to the kiss. He ran his hands into Adam’s hair. Their tongues wrestled against one another while Adam’s hands reached down to grip Heath’s ass.

“Don’t we need to put the groceries away?” Heath asked when Adam finally let him catch his breath.

Adam looked in the bags for a moment. He pulled out ice cream and shoved it in the freezer. He put cheese and some chicken breasts in the fridge. He rummaged through the last bag and slid a tub of yogurt into the fridge as well. “Everything else will be fine,” he said as he pulled Heath back into his arms.

“We haven’t had sex in here yet,” Heath said.

“No, we haven’t.” Adam unbuttoned his shirt and threw it to the floor. He did the same with Heath’s. He leaned down and covered Heath’s right nipple with his mouth, sucking and licking until Heath’s cock ached with need. Adam unzipped Heath’s pants and slid his hand inside. Heath pushed his pants down as they kissed and Adam caressed him. Adam backed him against the wall and knelt to take Heath’s shoes and pants off. He took Heath’s cock into his mouth.

“Oh yes, Adam, yes.” Heath loved the way Adam sucked him off. He teased so well and stoked his passion until he thought he couldn’t stand any more.

Adam took the head down his throat and played with his balls. Heath knew he’d come soon. Adam pulled back and began to kiss Heath’s stomach. Heath moaned in frustration, but he loved the soft caress of Adam’s lips on his skin.

“She called today. She wants us to come over tomorrow.”

“Good,” he managed to utter. He looked up at the ceiling and took deep breaths. He’d been waiting for her call all day; a small part of his mind worried she would feel different after they left.

“She said she missed waking up with us,” Adam said. He stood and kicked his shoes off before taking off his pants. He stroked himself. “She said she dreamt about us.”

Heath should have been jealous, but he wasn’t. Rose had called Adam because his cell number was the one she had. He wished he could have spoken to her, but it didn’t matter. All he cared about was that she’d said missed them. He smiled as he watched Adam. “Did she give details?”

Adam smiled and wrapped his arms around Heath’s waist. “She did.” He kissed his lips. “She saw us together in a field. We were having sex, and when we went to bathe in a stream we saw her and asked her to join us.” He kissed Heath’s neck and worked his way slowly down his body. “She joined us in the water, and all she remembers is our mouths and hands all over her.” He began sucking Heath’s cock again.

“So we made quite the impression.”

Adam pulled back again and nibbled on the head of Heath’s cock. “Sounds that way.” He stood up. “Turn around. And don’t move.”

Heath turned to face the wall while Adam left the room. He returned soon with a bottle of lube. He poured some into his hand and began massaging Heath’s hole. He slid one finger into him. Heath turned his head toward Adam’s, and they kissed. Pure bliss spread up his body as Adam pressed deeper and massaged his prostate. He looked into Adam’s eyes, and Adam smiled and moved into position.

Heath arched back while Adam spread his ass and slid into him. He gave Heath his full length right away and pumped deep. Adam’s hand slid over his hip and down to grip his cock.

“I asked if she liked watching us together,” Adam whispered. “She said yes.”

Heath ran his hand into Adam’s hair as his lips touched his shoulder. “How did you respond? You must have liked hearing that.” The news certainly gave him a great deal of pleasure.

“I told her how much I loved watching you make her come. I told her we want her here with us.”

Heath tensed. “What did she say?”

Adam slowed the pace of his thrusts but jerked Heath’s cock faster.

“What did she say?” Heath repeated. His balls tightened as he neared release.

“She said it was very tempting.”

Adam captured his mouth again and held him firmly against the wall, pounding into him and hitting the magic spot with each thrust.

Heath couldn’t escape his embrace. He sighed against Adam’s mouth when he came. The orgasm began slowly but then the pleasure rushed through his blood and intensified as Adam continued to fuck him. He tightened around Adam’s cock and got the groan of pleasure he’d been seeking. Heath felt hot cum running down his leg as Adam milked the last drop from his cock, and then Adam thrust one last time and jerked inside of him. Adam broke the kiss and growled against his throat. They both grew still and stood panting against each other. Adam slid out of him and placed kisses all over his cheek and neck.

  “I love you,” Adam said.

Heath turned in his arms, every inch of him tingling as Adam’s hot lips brushed over his skin. “I love you too.” They kissed as they slid down to the floor. Heath shivered on the cold tile until Adam covered him with his hard, warm body.

“Only very tempting, huh? We’ll have to tempt her some more,” Heath said.

“I think we can handle that.”

“I know you can handle that.”

Adam started kissing Heath’s chest again.

“You’re going to wear me out,” Heath said. He trembled as Adam licked his abs. “Or spoil me.”

Adam smiled up at him and nudged Heath’s legs apart. “I’m going for both. Spoiling you has been a delight for a couple of years now.”

Heath lost himself in Adam’s loving embrace as he fantasized about what they would do with Rose the next day.

Rose looked out the peephole a second time to make sure she wasn’t seei
ng things. Mallory Le Crosse peered back at her and smiled. What did she want? It had been three weeks since their phone conversation. Wasn’t she doing exactly what Mallory wanted? She opened the door and smiled.

“Ms. Le Crosse. I wasn’t expecting you.”

“I’m sure you weren’t, dear,” she cooed. “May I come in?”

Rose stepped aside. “Certainly.” She closed the door and followed her to the couch where they sat down and looked at each other. Rose cleared her throat. “Is this about Adam and Heath?”

“I suppose. It’s about you as well.”

  “Me?”

“Yes. Everything that affects them affects you now as well. And vice versa.”

Rose wanted to argue with her. They were…dating, if it could be called that. She enjoyed being with them, but she said no every time one of them tried to convince her to come live with them. She refused to turn her life upside down for something that might not last. The idea tempted her every day, and she’d told them that, but she wasn’t ready to give up her independence yet. “That’s true, for now at least.”

  “Only for now?”

“I can’t see into the future. Right now, we’re together. That’s all I can go on.”

“You’ve had them here many times, but you’ve never gone to their place. Why?”

She frowned. Was Mallory spying on her? Was the company spying on her? “Because they want something I can’t give them. Amazing sex is not my highest goal in life.”

“And this is the problem. You think that’s all it is. Two of the most amazing men I have ever met are in love with you. They love each other enough to transcend jealousy and follow their hearts instead of doing what others expect of them. You’ll be happy if you’ll open your heart the way they do.”

“Why is this any of your business? If you’re just going to lecture me, you need to leave right now.”

“Anyone who works for me becomes family. I want them to be happy, and it’s obvious they need you.”

“They have each other. At the moment, they have me, but how long do you really think their infatuation with me will last? I am having the time of my life, but I’m not stupid. My time with them will come to an end.”

“And you don’t want a broken heart to be one of the consequences.”

Rose stood and went to the door. She flung it open and pointed outside. “Please leave. You have overstayed your welcome. You might mean well, but I find your intrusion very offensive and insulting.”

“Rose, what if I told you I’m Fey?”

Rose looked at her for a long time. Mallory possessed an otherworldly quality, but she couldn’t actually be a Fey. They kept to themselves and tried to stay out of the public eye ever since they had made their existence widely known. Mallory ran a large company that thrived on being in the spotlight. “Prove it.”

“That could be tricky. Tell me something you know about the Fey.”

She thought, and the first thing that came to mind made her eyes go wide. “You can read minds?”

  She nodded. “Think of something.”

Rose pictured her first pet, a black-and-white kitten. “Okay.”

“His name was Jasper. He was a tuxedo cat with a little black smudge on his nose.”

  “Holy shit!”

She stood and moved to the door and closed it. “I hope you’ll keep my secret. No one outside our company needs to know. We plan on revealing my true identity to the public soon, but not just yet.”

“I don’t care about that.” She eyed her though. “Can you do that all the time?”

  Mallory nodded.

  “That’s scary.”

“I don’t blame you for thinking that. It makes us very honest amongst ourselves, and it’s a great protection.”

“And a great advantage. It explains how you can rile me so easily. You know all the things I don’t want to tell you.”

  “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. Just tell me what you really want.”

“I want you to give Adam and Heath what they want because it’s what you want too.”

“That’s my decision, no one else’s.”

“I understand, but I don’t like seeing them less than one hundred percent happy.”

“I don’t care what you do or do not like. You think you own them because they worked for you? Because you fucked them?”

“I care about them for those reasons. I can see their hearts and know how to value them.”

“Implying that I do not.” Rose jerked the door open again. “Please get out.”

“I’ll leave then. Just think about what I’ve said. Don’t lose them just because you’re scared. You’ll regret it.”

Rose slammed the door as soon as Mallory crossed the threshold. She was furious at Mallory and at herself. The thought of never seeing Heath and Adam again made her feel sick. She didn’t want to think about it. She knew the day would come, but she chose not to think about it very often. She’d come to care for them. She wouldn’t deny that to anyone. She didn’t like the hurt she saw in Heath’s eyes every time she declined an invitation to visit their home. Heath clung to her every time they touched. He felt almost desperate at times, especially when he was inside of her. Adam had begun to change as well. His dominant and possessive nature took on another dimension now. When he looked deep into her eyes, she could feel his determined frustration. Her refusal angered him and aroused him. She could feel it in the way he kissed her, the way he thrust into her. Neither of them had mentioned love again, though Heath often whispered into her ear, “Let us love you.” She knew he meant to suggest so much more than just having sex.

If she had led a life as charmed as theirs must have been working for one of the wealthiest companies in the country, maybe she would believe she could have her cake and eat it every single day as well. Mallory’s confession changed everything, especially how she viewed their relationship with her. How much had she been interfering all along? Mallory’s stubborn insistence that everything would be perfect if Rose would only give in to Adam and Heath annoyed her. Reading minds was not the same as telling the future—Mallory had no right to come around and try to tell her what to do. A dull ache settled into her chest. She’d tried to guard against it, but she would be hurt when the time came to say good-bye. One day they would stop asking her to come live with them. Then she would see them less and less. She believed they would say good-bye properly and not simply abandon her, but the thought of them doing so made her feel lost and helpless.

She went into the kitchen. They were coming over tonight. She would make a cup of tea and calm down. Once they arrived, she would feel better. She’d worry about tomorrow when tomorrow came.

  Chapter 6

Heath knocked on the door a second time. He’d seen Rose’s car so he knew she was home. He wondered if she was in the shower. He smiled, wishing he had a key so he could join her. She’d been acting different for several days, and he wanted to see if he could get her to talk about what was troubling her.

She opened the door and gestured for him to come in. “Sorry. I was changing out of my work clothes.” She closed the door after he was in and smoothed her hands over her shirt. “You know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you two apart.”

He turned and met her gaze. “We rarely are, though everyone needs alone time.” He searched her eyes for some indication of how he should proceed. “I came alone because I wanted to talk to you. I feel like the two of us overwhelm you at times.”

She laughed, and he could feel how nervous she was. He didn’t understand why she should feel nervous. Was she concerned because he’d come alone?

“Sometimes, you definitely do. I’m not objecting, but—”

He silenced her by placing his finger over her lips. “Rose, what’s wrong? Have we done something? Has something happened?”

  “There’s nothing wrong.”

The look in her eyes told him she might burst into tears any moment. He had a hard time picturing her cr
ying, and that told him something had upset her deeply. “Rose, I’ve tried to hold my tongue, but I can’t when you look at me that way.” He stroked her cheek. “I’m in love with you. I love you as much as I love Adam, and I want you to know it even if it’s something you believe you don’t want to hear. Adam feels the same way. He told me so a few days ago. You can tell me anything, and I will try to do what I can to help you.”

A couple of tears spilled from her eyes, and he kissed them as they rolled down her cheeks. “Tell me. Please tell me.”

“I can’t do this. The longer we’re together, the more it will hurt when you leave.”

He stared down at her. “Rose, I just told you I love you. We love you. We invite you to come live with us almost every time we see you. You think we’re lying? Using you?”

“No, I don’t think you would intentionally hurt me. I just know this can’t last forever.”

“Why not? Because it’s different? You have no problems with Adam and I being together. Lots of people object to us, and we ignore them. We love each other, and we’re infinitely happier than those bigots will ever be. We got pretty hot and heavy those first few days together, but we all have fun together, don’t we? It isn’t just sex. Last night we had fun watching movies and didn’t even fool around. I knew something was bothering you, but I didn’t want to pressure you.”

“I had a great time last night. I always enjoy being with you.”

“Then why can’t you accept the love we’re offering you?”

She whispered something, but he couldn’t hear her.

“What? Rose, you’re shaking.” He pulled her into his arms and held her against his chest.

Her voice cracked as she repeated, “I’m scared.”

He kissed the top of her head. “Don’t be.”

  “I can’t help it.”

“You’re one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. You’re doing this to yourself, freaking yourself out because you have some doubts.”

She pulled back to look up into his eyes. “How can you not have any? I don’t understand.”
