Ned smiled kindly. “You, my boy, are indeed a Lostmore through and through. I knew from the beginning what you were capable of, even if you didn’t. Reading about adventures is one thing. But living them, well, that’s quite another.

“Now,” Ned said, “it seems we have another adventure waiting for us. There’s a little something called the Golden Paw…an item that gives its owner great and terrible powers. I could use your help to make sure our enemies don’t get to it first. It would be another chance to prove your worth to the Society.”

Andy’s grin widened and he glanced down at his chest pocket. The medal he’d been given was still there.

  The Silver Sacroiliac.

He felt in his pocket for his pen. The Hodges Zoomwriter was still there, too.

Ned noticed and said, “Well, Keymaster. How would you feel about going on another adventure?”

Andy remembered being asked this question once before. At that time, he hadn’t known what to say.

He puffed out his chest. This time he knew the right answer to that question. He knew what everyone should say when asked if they’re up for a new adventure.

  “Absolutely.”
