Johnny was the man that her parents had picked out for her. She now felt like she had betrayed them too. She swallowed in her self-pity. She headed home. Johnny approached her and he looked terrified. He calmed down and then explained the situation to her.
Her parents were taken by the creature.
Chapter 6
Victory
She began to cry. The creature had her parents. What was she going to do? She felt like she had no other choice but to enter the forest to rescue them. She was terrified. She told her family what had happened. Most were reluctant to help her but Johnny and a few of the others decided to help. She felt relieved that she had company but she prayed that they were still alive.
They made their way into the forest. They were very cautious as to not leave a trace. They masked their scents and steadied their heartbeats. She was still terrified. They were in the heart of the forest. Suddenly, a huge hand struck out from the shadows and grabbed Johnny. Jacinta cried out. She knew he was gone. They then followed the path of the hand. The creature was enraged. He had never been followed before. He towered over the wolves and scooped them up. He was about to devour them. The wolves put up a fight. The creature dropped Jacinta. He seemed uninterested in him. From a distance, she saw Johnny. Johnny was unharmed. Jacinta found this to be strange. He then communicated with her telepathically. Jacinta’s senses for some strange reason were heightened. She read his mind. Apparently, Johnny wanted to be the leader of the pack. So, he made a deal with the creature to take out the rest of the wolves so that he could be the new and only alpha. She was disgusted by this discovery. She trusted him. She called the engagement off. Johnny sighed and then sent the creature after her. She ran, looking for a place where she could have the advantage. The creature outsmarted her. He managed to corner her instead. She whimpered. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a strange, dark figure came attacked the creature. The creature moaned in pain. The dark figure attacked the creature furiously. He continued to punch and kick the creature. But the creature was relentless. He hit the figure a couple of times and he took each painful blow. The figure was almost unconscious. She howled hoping that someone would help her. By the time she was finished, no one came. She lost hope. Suddenly, the creature woke up. He would not give up until he protected Jacinta. Jacinta stopped being a coward and joined the fight. She remembered that she had something to live for. She had to find her parents. She would become a Psychologist and maybe she would date Anthony. She reflected on her first time. It was rushed and she wanted to try again. She attacked him on his left. The figure attacked him on the right. They eventually outsmarted the creature. The figure landed the final blow. He then disappeared. The creature was lifeless. Suddenly, she heard some howls in the distance. She noticed that the entire clan had been captured. They knew that Johnny was a traitor and sold them out to the creature so that he could have power. They then attempted to track him down. They were unsuccessful. Johnny ran into the night never to be seen or heard from again.
The wolves retreated to the house. They thanked Jacinta for her bravery and made her one of the alphas. Jacinta was pleased. Her parents were disappointed that their future son-in-law was a traitor. They just wanted Jacinta to be happy. She told them that she was already happy and did not need Johnny. The pack agreed. Jacinta was now happy as she was unattached. They celebrated for the entire night until everyone regained human form.
She decided to look for Anthony. She wanted more of him. She wanted to try again. His roommate told her that he had been missing for a while. She panicked. She wondered where he was and what he was doing. She did feel a connection to him, but the connection was growing weaker and weaker by the minute. She was worried.
She headed to class and constantly thought of him. He stopped coming to class. She found this to be quite strange. Exams were around the corner. She left class early. She needed to deal with her frustrations.
She decided to head home and run through the forest. She could feel the wind in her hair and the dirt at her feet. Suddenly, she saw a strange creature on the floor. It almost looked like Anthony. She stopped in her tracks and looked closer at the body.
It was Anthony. He was unconscious. His skin was burnt and his pulse grew weaker. She did not know what to do. She was about to call for an ambulance when he told her not to. She then looked at him strangely. She told him that she cannot leave him like this. He told her to carry him to his dorm. She did not like the sound of that but she had to help him. She carried him on her shoulder into her house. She headed to the garage and saw that the Volvo was there. She was only allowed to use the car in case of emergencies. This was therefore the perfect time. She looked for the keys. Once she found them, she opened the car and placed Anthony on the backseat. She quickly drove to his dorm. She carried him to his room. She placed him on the bed. He told her that there was a box under the bed. In it was a stone with some liquid in it. He wanted her to break the stone and give him the liquid within the stone. He smiled. “Thank you for saving me, Bonnie.” He kissed her.
“Maybe you should rest up.” She said. She kissed him back and fell asleep in his arms.

She was planning to study with Anthony today. He looked at her lovingly.
“Good morning, bonnie,” He kissed her. “I had a wonderful night with you, until you decided to leave me.”
She sighed, “I am so sorry, Anthony but my parents are really overprotective.”
“Even at your age?
“Yes even at my age.”
He kissed her. He then told her that he would not mind meeting them sometime soon. Her face lit up. He was not afraid of her parents. Most guys were.
“I’d love to meet your folks. Maybe one day,” he kissed her, “they’d be my folk

They then headed to the library to study.
Jacinta realized that she and Anthony had a strange connection. Every time, they slept together, she would feel more and more connected with him. She could hear his thoughts. She could feel his emotions and she felt like she was a part of him. It was amazing and breathtaking just being so close and connected with someone.
She headed to the exam room and she felt confident. Anthony knew the topics very well and would be able to transfer his knowledge to her. So said, so done. She knew all of the answers to the test and finished in record time. Anthony was outside waiting for her. He wanted them to celebrate that academic year and he wanted to surprise her.
He carried her out to an expensive restaurant. It was Chez Maria’s. She loved Italian and he wanted to spoil her. He looked at the menus and smiled. He then looked at her.
“You look beautiful, Jacinta.”
“Thank you.”
Jacinta and Anthony then began to talk about their deepest secrets, music and everything else that they could possibly think of. She then mentioned her future plans. Anthony then teased her and hoped that he could be a part of her future. She hoped so too.
The waiter then came to their table and was ready to take their orders. Anthony wanted spaghetti and meatballs but he asked them to remove the garlic from the food. Jacinta simply wanted beef lasagna. Anthony also wanted red wine which was the perfect drink to go with their meal.
When their food came, they laughed and talked about things that mattered to them. In the middle of the conversation, Jacinta told him that he was her first lover. Anthony laughed. He almost could not believe it because she was so good. She blushed and continued to drink her wine and eat her lasagna.
An hour later, Anthony paid the bill and decided to carry her to the beach at night. When they arrived, the area was romantically set up. There was a make-shift bed on the sand and it was surrounded by rose petals. The area was lit up by candle light. He walked on the other side of the car, opened her door, carried her in his arms and walked towards the area. He then gently rested her on the bed. “I love you too.” He held her in his arms. He then placed her on his lap as they watched the moon connect with the ocean. It was overwhelming beautiful. Jacinta was thankful that it was not a full moon tonight. She did not think that Anthony would like her hairy.

Jacinta just simply went to her room.
This enraged her parents who followed her to her room.
“Jacinta, we did not raise you to be so defiant. What is going on?”
“Mom, dad. I do not have to explain myself to you. I am a grown woman and it’s time that I make my own decisions.”
Her parents were taken aback. “How dare you talk to us like that?”
She sighed. “If you must know, I am dating someone. He is kind, caring, intelligent and a sweetheart. He loves me and puts my needs first. He listens and understands me. He is the person who I want to spend the rest of my life with.”
Her parents were shocked by the statements. “If that is how you feel about the young man, then let us meet him.”
“Maybe, I will.
“We are having a family dinner tomorrow at 9.Invite him over. Let’s get to know the young man.”
“Ok, I will invite him.”
“Ok, well good night.”
Her parents left the room. Jacinta was terrified. She was afraid that her family would scare him off. She then calmed herself down and fell asleep.
The following day, she met up with Anthony and told him what happened after he dropped her off. He laughed at her nervousness. “Sure, I am available tonight, but only for you.” He kissed her hand and then kissed her. Before she left, he asked her about the dress code. She told him to look nice and wear something special. He joked and told her that he was saving his birthday suit just for her. She laughed and told him goodbye.
She wanted to stay with him longer but was too nervous. She wanted to head home and help prepare dinner. As much as he was calm and collected, she could feel that he was a bit nervous too. She helped her mother with the chicken and potatoes and set the table. She tried to relax for the next few hours but found that to be impossible. Her hands were shaking and she began to sweat. She could not remember the last time she was so nervous. Then she heard the doorbell ring. She opened the door and saw that it was Anthony. He looked handsome. He wore a black shirt and black pants. When her mother saw him, she was speechless.
“Wow! You are handsome. Please come in.”
Anthony entered the house. Her mother smelt something strange but just assumed that it was his cologne.
“Hi you must be Anthony. I am Josie, Jacinta’s mother. It’s so nice to meet you.”
Her father then entered the room. He also smelt something strange.
“Hey, you must be the man trying to take our daughter away from us. I’ll kill you.” Jacinta’s mother nudged him, “I mean I’d kill for you to try my steak. It’s outside on the grill.” Josie looked at her husband with utter disdain.
Surprisingly, the night was uneventful. All of her family eventually showed up one by one. They all had a good time. They drank and ate to
their heart’s content. They were all charmed by Anthony. He was quite the gentleman. He was polite and mannerly. He could hold a conversation and was hilarious. Everyone approved of him. Anthony was pleased by the positive feedback. Jacinta could feel his happiness and acceptance into the family.
“So, when are you marrying my daughter, Anthony?”
Josie hit James for his sudden question
“Anthony, please excuse my husband. Apparently tact seems to dwindle at his age.”
“So what about me?” asked grandpa who was offender by her statement.
They all laughed and continued to enjoy their meal.
An hour later, Anthony wanted to use the bathroom. He then asked for directions and left the table. When he came back, something had changed. Suddenly, the entire family smelt something strange. It was something evil. They sniffed around the room and then their noses landed on Anthony. Anthony was scared. Jacinta could feel it. She wanted them to back off.
“Stay out of this Jacinta!” Her mother cried out.
Suddenly, the room that was filled with love and cheer was filled with danger. The family transformed into sharks in the room and he was but a small fish trying to get away. He knew that they had figured it out.
“What are you guys doing? What happened? Don’t you see he is the same guy that you just met?” she said trying to come to his defense.
“He is NOT! You don’t see it”
She tried to look for what was different. She could not find anything.
“I don’t see it.”
“How can you not see it? It is right in front of you.”
She could not see what they were talking about. She was becoming more and more annoyed.
“Please stop it. He is the same guy that entered this house. You guys just do not want me to be happy. He makes me happy. Please just accept that.”
