Once we were in the room, the curtain closed, I turned to Curtis. “Sit.”
His eyes narrowed as he smiled. He didn’t speak as he wandered over to the couch and had a seat. I could clearly see the impressive bulge in his pants, and it made my mouth water. I wanted him.
“Take off your shirt,” I ordered.
He did as I asked, throwing the off to the side of the couch. My steps were slow as I approached him, pulling my own shirt off. Underneath, I was wearing a lacy black and neon pink pushup bra. His eyes glazed over with desire as he licked his lips. He was exactly where I wanted him.
I slid my shoes off before turning around to face the opposite direction. As I did, I saw Cass standing in the doorway, the curtain drawn only a couple of inches. Just enough that he was able to watch me. My heart thudded in my chest. I’d never felt sexier in my entire life. All thoughts of anything bad were gone. All that was left was me, the sexy human that I was about to have fun with, and the undeniably sexy vampire watching me with an intensity no human man could match.
A dark smile spread across my mouth as I looked at Cass. I absentmindedly pulled my lower lip between my teeth, gently biting it as I unbuttoned my pants and slowly pushed them down. I heard a moan from Curtis behind me and knew that he was enjoying the view of my matching, lacy black and pink boy shorts.
“Get that beautiful ass over here,” Curtis said.
I couldn’t resist one last look at Cass before I turned to make my way over to my willing victim. As I stood before Curtis, I placed one foot on the edge of the couch before speaking.
“Touch me.”
Curtis placed his finger tips on my hips. The gentle touch sent chills down my body, tiny goosebumps rising on my skin. He then slid off the edge of the couch, his mouth level with what desired him most. He licked me though the lace, and my reaction was immediate. I felt the power surging through me, needing to feed.
When I looked down at him and saw his eyes widen for a moment, I knew it was because my face and eyes had changed.
“Is this what you want?” I asked, my voice barely a whisper. I could hardly find words, let alone the voice to speak them.
Curtis did not hesitate. He wrapped his arms around my hips and pulled me tighter against his face, sucking on the sensitive area through the thin fabric. I moaned loudly, feeling myself lose control.
With my enhanced hearing, I could hear Cass turn several people away from the room. He was such a good bodyguard. Every so often, I’d turned to look at him watching me. I knew that part of it was duty. He had to watch in case something bad happened. He could stop me from killing, but I knew that some of it was pleasure. We’d tasted one another before. I could always feel that tension between us, even if he refused to admit it because of Tristan. Right then, it was undeniable. I could smell his arousal. If Tristan hadn’t threatened him so harshly, I knew he’d be in there with me. Another first.
The sexiness of having one man’s mouth on me as another man that I was so attracted to watched proved to be too much. Curtis moaned against me as I began to cry out with my first climax. Before it fully ended, I felt Cass’ hand around my throat from behind, his mouth at my ear. His touch sent shockwaves through me, intensifying every sensation rocketing through me at that moment.
“Please,” I said. “I want you, too.”
I felt Curtis shifting. Cass pulled me back a bit, allowing Curtis to stand. I expected some irritation or anger, but the compulsion from when I’d told him to relax was still present. He simply shrugged and sat back on the couch.
I could hear Cass’ labored breathing, and I knew he was fighting himself. His left hand was tight around my throat, but not so much it hurt. His right hand was wrapped around my arm. His body pressed against mine. I could feel his hardness against my backside, and it drove me insane. I wanted them both, but I knew Cass wouldn’t give in. I didn’t know what he was doing, but I knew he wasn’t going to give me what I wanted.
As I stepped forward, Cass released me. This time, I faced Curtis head on while my backside was to Cass. I slowly slid my panties off, making sure to bend all the way over as I did so. The low, guttural growl that escaped Cass nearly lit my entire body on fire with need. I knew how hard he was fighting himself, and it only heightened everything around me.
Curtis had already slid his jeans down, revealing what I’d correctly assumed to be an impressive endowment. I made my way over and climbed on top of him. Watching his eyes roll back and close as I sheathed him inside of me was incredible. The power wrapped around me, and I felt it touching his life force.
I leaned forward to kiss him, but Cass’ hand wrapped in my hair as he pulled my head back. His eyes were locked on mine as I moved against Curtis.
“You’re connected to him. You don’t have to kiss him. Kiss me instead.”
I saw the desire in his eyes. He was holding back so much, but he still couldn’t stop himself. He kissed me then, his free hand caressing my side and my right breast. I felt an explosion of control around me. I had them both. I could kill them both in a heartbeat if I wanted, but I didn’t. I didn’t want that at all.
My body controlled Curtis, bringing him the intense pleasure that I wanted him to feel as I syphoned some of his energy away. My lips, however, were Cass’. He kissed me hard, and I felt a connection build with him. I felt his dark energy swirling around me as I pulled it toward me, feeding on it. Soon, I felt another climax building. I’d never felt such power or so satisfied.
Just as I was about to fall over the edge, I felt Curtis’ hands grip my hips as he controlled my rhythm. Cass used my hair to pull me away from him, his mouth moving to my ear.
“Scream for me,” Cass said just before he buried his teeth into my throat.
I did as I was told, not having another choice as another climax took hold. My body was overwhelmed with sensations, and the pleasure never seemed to end. I felt Curtis find his own, and I slowed down my feeding as he began to slow down. Cass pulled back, taking one last lick of the blood that had trickled down my neck. As he did, I moved off of Curtis, so I could inspect him a bit.
“How are you feeling?” I asked.
He sat there for a moment, his head resting on the back of the couch as his eyes stared at the ceiling. He blinked a few times as he thought it over.
“I don’t have words,” he said. “I don’t want to forget you. That was… I expected at least some pain, but… Wow. That… Damn. I really don’t want to forget you.”
“You don’t have to forget me,” I said. “You only have to forget what I am. Right, Cass? I can make him forget what I am without actually forgetting me?”
“Yes, that’s right,” Cass replied.
“Yeah… Speaking of that…” Curtis lifted his head and looked at us both. “Who are you? I didn’t say anything. At the moment, you seemed into in and seemed to know him, so I really didn’t give a damn, but now I’m a bit curious.”
“This is my friend, Cass,” I said.
Curtis nodded. “Okay, then. So, what happens now?”
I reached over, resting my hand on his. I remembered how easily it was to touch the power while we were at the bar. How easy it was to manipulate him while I was aroused. I hoped I could do the same while satisfied. That would be the test.
I pushed some of my energy through him and watched as his face went expressionless. I had him. “Now you forget what I am. You forget my face. Forget my name. Forget Cass and everything you saw with him. All you remember is going to the strip club, meeting a fun girl at the bar, going into a private room, and having a lot of fun. Do you understand?”
Curtis nodded.
“Good boy,” I said.
“Hurry and get dressed. I’ll be outside,” Cass said. His voice and his words were very short. He seemed upset, but why? That had been so much fun!
“What the hell’s wrong with you?” I asked as I walked outside. True to his word, he was standing just outside the entrance to the club. I didn’t even get a chance
to ogle the dancers.
“We need to go.” Again with the shortness.
“Cass… Please. What is wrong with you?”
He didn’t speak as he walked toward the car. The tires squealed a bit when he took off. He ran his fingers through his dark hair. The street lamps flashing as we drove through the city allowed me to make out the worry on his face.
“Cass?”
“What!?” Cass yelled, his hand going into the air. “What, Mia?”
“I-I’m sorry,” I said. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m just trying to figure out the change in you between then and now.”
Cass sighed. He gripped the wheel, and I worried it might snap in his grasp.
“Tristan is going to kill me, Mia. I did it. AGAIN! Jesus! What the fuck is wrong with me?”
“You didn’t do anything wrong,” I said. “Stop doing this to yourself!”
“Are you serious? I can’t seem to keep my hands off of you. I mean, sure, I can normally. I don’t say anything out of the way. I don’t even flirt with you. But there is something about you that I can’t get enough of. It’s going to get me killed.”
“We didn’t have sex, Cass. Stop this.”
“No, but what I did was far more intimate. I stayed outside the door and watched. Yes, I had to because I needed to make sure your technique was good, as weird as that fucking sounds. But I need to make sure that you weren’t using too much or too little energy. I needed to make sure that you’d leave satisfied, but not kill him. So, yes, it was my job to watch you. It wasn’t, however, in my job description to want you. To need you. To lose control and watch you, not out of duty, but out of nothing but lust. It sure as hell wasn’t in my job description to go in there and feed you from my own lips. Most of all, I shouldn’t have bitten you. I just… just…”
I paused for a moment, waiting for him to continue on his rant, but he didn’t. He focused on the road, lost in thought.
“You just what?” I asked. I could smell the spike in his arousal. He must have been thinking about it all over again.
“I remembered how you felt. I remembered what it was like to give you what you need. I just wanted to hear you scream like that again, but not for him. I wanted you to scream for me. I wasn’t jealous of him, but I wanted it for myself. So, I suppose that is a form of jealousy. Just not the jealous boyfriend type of jealousy. He was food. I wanted to be your pleasure.”
Wow. I had no idea what to say. That was intensely sexy. Cass and I were friends, but more than that at the same time. I wasn’t sure if it was or would be anything romantic, but we certainly had something.
“You have no idea what you…” I didn’t get a chance to finish that sentence.
“What the fuck is that?” Cass asked.
We were outside of the city then, heavy trees on both sides of the road. About a half mile away an SUV was stopped in the middle of the road, but the passengers weren’t alone. There was something outside of the vehicle on both sides rocking it back and forth.
“Holy shit!” Cass called out, slamming on his brakes.
“What is it!?” I asked, terrified of what I was seeing.
I looked back out the windshield, only a few hundred feet away from where two monstrous creatures stood on either side of the navy-blue SUV. They were tall. It was impossible to judge, but they looked to be at the very least nine feet in height. They stood upright on legs, but they looked like wolves. Their fur was short, sleek, like a Doberman or a Great Dane. One was jet-black and his fur glistened in our headlights, the other, a silvery grey, was just as beautiful. Beautiful, yet terrifying.
The black one busted through the driver’s side glass with his fist before shoving his massive head through the window and pulling a fully-grown man out with his powerful jaws. The man was screaming, and I could hear a woman inside screaming as well.
“What the fuck are they?” I called out, fear ripping through me.
“They are the forsaken,” was all Cass replied with as he shoved the car in reverse and hit the gas.
Chapter Seven
The wheels spun hard on the damp pavement. It had rained a little in the time we’d been gone, but the skies were starry right then. There were loud growls mixed with the screams.
“We have to help him!” I screamed at Cass.
“Are you crazy? Do you see that? That is a forsaken werewolf! It will tear us to pieces! We don’t have near the amount of power it would take to drop one, let alone two.”
The silver one turned his attention on our hasty retreat and took off running after us.
“Oooh, no!” I said. “He noticed us! He’s coming for us!”
“Fuck!” Cass called out just as the car hit something hard. “No, no, no. No, no, no.”
Once I regained my senses, I turned back to see another forsaken, this one a dark, brown-black color with a jet-black face. He was snarling; his lips pulled back, large sharp teeth gleaming, drool dripping onto the car. His massive clawed hands were gripping the trunk tight. We weren’t going anywhere.
“What do we do?” I asked. “I thought they couldn’t change unless it was a full moon.”
“Wrong again,” Cass said. “We really need to work on your history at some point – if we survive this. I can run, but you’re not fast enough, and I won’t leave you. Neither one of us are strong enough.”
“So, what does that mean?”
Cass shook his head. “I don’t know.”
The front of the car crunched, the entire thing shifting under the weight of the silver forsaken. The engine died, and I knew that with the wolf’s weight and the crushing sounds that had been made, there was no coming back from it. The car was dead. I had no idea what a forsaken was, other than a snarling werewolf, but they were huge, and they were terrifying. I wished that Tristan was there. I wished that he could help us. Surely, he’d be able to compel them all.
I focused my eyes on the forsaken’s. He stared at me with cold, blue orbs that held the desire for death and destruction within their depths. I surrounded myself with power and pushed it forward, hoping that I could hold him, even for a moment while we figured out what to do. His eyes narrowed as his body relaxed a bit, our gaze never breaking.
“Please… just… leave,” I said out loud. “Just… go.”
I knew, even as quiet as my voice was, that he heard me. I just didn’t know if it would work or not.
Not.
Very not!
He pulled his arm back, preparing to shove his massive fist through the windshield just as his black furry friend had done to the other vehicle. I closed my eyes tight, preparing for my death – my next death, but it never came.
I heard a loud crack of thunder overhead. The entire car shifted, causing me to open my eyes. The forsaken, hand still in the air, was now staring at the sky. A sky that had been full of bright stars not moments ago, but thickening with clouds. Lightning webbed across the sky, one bolt right after another. Thunder rolled over and over again. Something wasn’t right. That was no normal storm.
“Oh… fuck.”
I looked over at Cass only to see his eyes wide as he stared at the sky.
“You once asked me about the immortals,” he said, his voice soft, afraid. “I think you’re about to see one.”
Lightning leapt from the sky, striking the silver forsaken on the hood of the car. The current went through him and into the car, passing through to the forsaken holding onto the trunk. The tires blew, one right after another. Further stranding us.
“Wait,” I said. “Didn’t you and Tristan say the immortals were evil? They’re the ones taking over the world, right?”
Cass nodded. “Yes.”
The black forsaken howled into the night as he came to the defense of his fallen silver friend. Within seconds the other beast was up, the third one coming to join them.
“You also said that the bad creatures work with them.”
“Yes, I did,” he said. “The only thing keeping me from losing my damn m
ind right now is that fact. Because there is no such thing as a good forsaken. They were once beautiful wolves that were forsaken by Anubis for betraying him and humanity. That’s why they look like him. If they were just attacked by an immortal, there stands a chance the immortal is on our side.”
“We need to get out of here,” I said. “I don’t want to stick around to find out.”
“Believe me, I would love to, but we can’t do anything. The car is fucked. It’s completely dead and the tires are shot. If we run, they will catch us. I’m probably fast enough, but I’m not old enough to stand in a fight against them. You’re a succubus. You’re not fast, and you’re not strong. Not like a vampire. I’m the only one that stands a chance, and I will not leave you. We are trapped. No running. No fighting. We can’t do anything but pray.”
Loud growls pulled our attention forward. The three forsaken were staring into the woods, their bodies positioned ready for a fight. Thunder still cracked overhead as the lightning brightened the night sky.
Out of nowhere a massive rock the size of one of their heads came flying out of the wood line and directly at the black forsaken, exploding into hundreds of pieces as it hit his chest. It sent him sliding back a few feet, but he recovered easily.
I focused on the wood line and watched in amazement as a beautiful woman with curly, golden blonde hair stepped out and strolled up the road like nothing was happening.
“Vampire!” she called out.
Cass’ eyes widened as he stared at her. I imagined my expression looked no different.
“Vampire! Succubus! Get out of the car and help the humans. No harm will come to you. I will make very certain of that.”
“Help the humans?” I asked.
“We can trust her,” Cass said. He sat back and took off his seatbelt. There was no longer any hesitation.
“Whoa!” I said, grabbing hold of him. “Is she a succubus, too, and not an immortal? Did she compel you? Can immortals compel? You were terrified just a second ago, and now you’re willing to do whatever she says.”
“Look at her aura,” Cass said.
