The Trouble with Pilots Page 5

by Kristi Ahlers

  “I love you, Trey.”

Trey stopped and bent his head and rested his forehead against hers. “I love you, Sarah.”

An hour later, Sarah lay against Trey’s chest, replete and happy. It still boggled her mind that none of this would have happened if she hadn’t taken a chance and climbed on an airplane.

When Trey slipped from the bed, still nude from their love-making, Sarah propped herself up so she could admire the view. She was still so stunned this man was her boyfriend. The idea she was in love and happy made her smile.

“What has got you smiling like the kitten that has the cream?” Trey asked as he looked over his shoulder.

“I’m just enjoying the scenery.” She winked and resisted the urge to sigh with total contentment. “What are you looking for?”

Trey dug around in his crew bag. “Don’t be nosy.” He winked at her and continued to look. “I found something the other day on my last trip I thought you’d like.”

Sarah loved it when he surprised her with little gifts from his trips. But she loved it more when he came back and kissed her senseless.

“Okay, you have to close your eyes.”

“Seriously?” She asked as she giggled.

“Yes, seriously. Close those beautiful eyes.”

Sarah did as he asked and listened as he moved around the room. “What are you doing?”

The bed dipped and his spicy male scent filled her senses. She loved the scent of his skin and she ached to have him touch her again.

“Okay, you can open your eyes now.”

She did and gazed up at the man she loved with all her heart. “I really missed you while you were gone this last trip.” And she had, so much. Dating a pilot had a lot of perks but the down side was he was gone an awful lot.

“I missed you too, darlin’. And I realized something too.”

Sarah cocked her head. “And what was that?”

“There is nothing better than coming home from a long trip and finding you waiting for me. I love coming home to you.”

God, could he say anything more romantic or sweet?

“Home is wherever you are.” He pulled a black velvet box from behind him and flipped the lid. “Will you please be my heart, my home? Sarah, be my wife.”

Sarah gaze quickly darted between the ring and Trey’s face. He surprised her with his romantic words and the fact he was offering her heart’s desire. “Yes, Trey. Yes!” She launched herself into his arms, ignoring the beautiful diamond ring, only wanting to feel him close to her. “Yes, I will be all that and more. But only if you’ll be those things for me also.”

Trey gently set her away from him, cupped her face between his two warm hands and kissed her deep and slow. “Yes, Sarah. Always.”

“You know, I’m glad to know it was worth all the trouble to force myself onto the plane.” Sarah looked up at Trey, “And I’m very happy knowing my trouble with pilots was a once-off thing. You were worth waiting for.”

Trey smiled. “No, baby, you were worth waiting for, and I’m so glad you did make it onto the plane. My life changed forever that day.”

In truth, the trip had changed both of their lives and Sarah would forever love flying and her flyboy fiancée.

  THE TROUBLE WITH FRENCH KISSES

  The Trouble Series

  {book one}

Just finished reading THE TROUBLE WITH FRENCH KISSES... One word I can think of best describe it.... INTOXICATING! I think I had a smile on my face from the first paragraph to the last. Ms. Ahler's hero has to be right up there with my all-time favorite alpha, dreamy, heart-throbs! What is it about green-eyed sexy guys that just make you toes curl, because that is exactly what Damien did for me the way Ms. Ahlers fashioned him in THE TROUBLE WITH FRENCH KISSES. Normally, I'm not a fan of the short-story but reading TTWFK was like indulging in a sinfully decadent dessert!

The Trouble with French Kisses was a great short read! The characters are vivid and pop from the page! But as I turned the last page, I wished it was a full length book! I promise if you read this novelette you are going feel like you are in Paris! And wish it hadn't ended so soon!
