Creepin' 3: A New Orleans Love Story Page 19

“Chase you better teach your bitch how to shut the fuck up sometimes. It ain’t gon’ be too many more times that y’all can keep me off of her ass,” Carter warned before he walked out of the room with Cane.

London let out a loud, frustrated breath before shaking her head in disgust at Rainey. She wasn’t too fond of their living arrangements either, but she was making the best of a not so good situation. She’d finally found an apartment, and she planned to move in the next two weeks. Unlike Rainey, she’d kept in touch with her mother, but they still weren’t seeing eye to eye. Cheryl was all into her new man and London wasn’t feeling her at the moment. She basically turned her back on her only child just for the companionship of a man.

“Y’all go freshen up. We got some customers coming through tonight,” Chase said while looking at Rainey with a frown.

When he left out of the room, Rainey grabbed her duffel bag and proceeded to take a shower.

  ***

About three hours later Rainey was just waking up from a nap when she heard her phone ringing. When she saw that it was Von calling she was tempted to answer. She’d been thinking a lot about how her life had turned out and she wanted to do better. She was still young and she had enough time to make some positive changes. Rainey grabbed her phone and made up her mind to answer right as London came running into the room.

“Girl, Carter got some fine ass niggas about to come up here. One of them is celebrating his twenty-first birthday and his friends wanted him to go out with a bang,” London laughed.

“How many of them are out there?” Rainey asked.

“I think it’s three, maybe four. I really don’t give a damn. Those niggas look like money and they’re fine,” London gushed.

Rainey got up and ran her fingers through her curly weave. She put on some lipstick and sprayed herself down with body spray. She had on a cute, but simple sundress, so there was no need for her to change. London was busy getting herself together, so Rainey straightened up the room. She put their duffle bags in the closet and made sure the bed was fixed. She sprayed a little of her body spray in the air in hopes of getting rid of the stale smell in the room. When London emerged from the bathroom, they sat on the bed and waited for Chase or Carter to bring in their customers. They didn’t have to wait long because a knock at the door came about five minutes later.

  “Y’all ready?” Carter asked.

“Yeah, you can send them in,” London replied.

Rainey rolled her eyes and turned her head without responding. She hated Carter, and she was sure that the feelings were mutual. Truth be told she hadn’t been too fond of Chase much lately either. Rainey suspected him of messing with one of the new girls that Carter had on his team. They were always smiling in each other’s faces, and he’d started to act like he couldn’t stand the sight of Rainey anymore. Rainey abandoned her thoughts when the door opened, and three men walked in. Her breath caught in her through when she laid eyes on their customers, but one, in particular, captured her attention.

“This must be my lucky day for real. My birthday just keeps getting better and better. Two of my favorites girls in the same place at the same time,” one of the men laughed.

“Oh hell no,” Rainey said as she got up from the bed and headed for the front door. “I’m not doing nothing with his ass.”

“Rainey wait!” London yelled, but it was too late.

“Rainey rushed out of the room to go look for Chase, but ran into Carter instead.

“Where the hell are you going?” Carter asked her.

“I’m not fucking none of them niggas in there. You need to send somebody else to do it because I’m not,” Rainey snapped.

“First all of you better watch how you talk to me. I’m not Chase and I’ll knock your complaining ass out. All of the other girls are busy, so you really don’t have a choice. Those niggas already paid up and you better do whatever they tell you to do,” Carter replied.

  “Where is Chase?” Rainey inquired.

“Chase ain’t here, so I’m calling the shots for his girls until he gets back. And like I just said, you better bring your ass right back in that room and do whatever the fuck they tell you to do,” Carter fumed as he walked up to her.

Rainey wasn’t stupid, and she knew that Carter wasn’t playing with her. She’d seen him put his hands on women several times since she’d been around. Since he hated her, she knew that he wouldn’t have a problem doing her the same way. On shaky legs, Rainey walked back into the room and closed the door behind her. London had already gotten the party started and was on her knees giving one of the men a blowjob. Another one dropped his pants and walked over to her, and she started alternating between the two of them.

“C’mon Rainey, let me see what that mouth do. I might want you and your girl to make a movie with me for my birthday,” Travis smirked as he walked over to her and dropped his pants and boxers to the floor.

Rainey wanted to die when Travis and his entourage walked into her room. She still hadn’t forgotten the way he embarrassed her at school a while ago and she probably never would. He was the reason why she’d dropped out of school and went to get her GED instead. Travis had not only told Mia and everyone else about the video that Ro had made of her, he even went as far as sending it to a few people. He was the reason why Mia attacked her at Von’s house that day. If he hadn’t sent her the video she would have never known. Although Rainey didn’t want Travis anywhere near her, she really didn’t have a choice. Carter already had the money and he wouldn’t let her leave out of the room even if she wanted to. Rainey figured that the sooner she did it, the sooner everything would be over with. She dropped down to her knees and licked her lips, ready to get started. She got a whiff of Travis’s cologne and was happy that he wasn’t some dirty, musty ass nigga off of the streets who wanted her to put her mouth on him. Travis never gave her a chance to get ready. He grabbed the back of her head and almost gagged her when he stuffed his dick in her mouth. Rainey tried pushing him back, but he wasn’t budging.

“Wait a minute,” Rainey yelled as she pulled away and wiped the saliva that was dripping down her chin.

Either Travis was oblivious to what he was doing or he just didn’t care. He shoved himself back into Rainey’s mouth and started pumping like a mad man. He was moaning like he was in paradise, but she didn’t feel the same way. Rainey was gagging and it almost felt like she wanted to throw up. She tried to relax as much as she could in hopes that he would get off soon. It seemed like she was on her knees for hours when it was only about ten minutes. Rainey felt Travis’s body start to jerk and she tried her best to pull away from him. He had a death grip on her hair and he was not letting up. After a few seconds of struggling, Rainey wanted to cry when she felt Travis releasing his hot semen into her mouth. In all of her experiences with the opposite sex, no one had ever done that to her. Even in the few months that she had been having sex for money she had never been violated in such a way.

“You nasty bastard,” Rainey yelled as she spit the hot cum out of her mouth and onto his jeans that were crumpled up on the floor.

She spit again, not realizing that she was using his clothes to do it on. Rainey stood up and rushed to the bathroom to wash her mouth out.

“That stupid bitch spit on my jeans,” Travis fumed.

London was still on her knees servicing his two friends, but she quickly stopped what she was doing. She knew that the situation was about to get out of control just by the look on Travis’s face. She jumped up from her kneeling position and raced to the bathroom to check on Rainey.

“That nigga about to give me my money back. I don’t even want to fuck these hoes now. That bitch Rainey pissed me off. They ain’t even worth what we paid anyway,” Travis said as he used the bedspread to try and wipe off his jeans.

Once he and his boys were dressed, they left out of the room and went down the stairs in search of Carter.

“Say, my nigga, you need to give me a refund. That bitch
in there spit on my jeans and I ain’t even feeling doing this shit no more. I can go home and get some pussy from my girl for free anyway,” Travis said angrily.

“Nah nigga, ain’t no refunds. Now if you have a problem I can give you some more time, or I can get you another girl,” Carter replied.

“What the fuck you mean ain’t no refunds. We didn’t even fuck them hoes. And that bitch Rainey was acting like she ain’t never suck a dick a day in her life when I know that ain’t the truth. Bitch spitting and gagging and shit. Give me my muthafucking money back or we gon’ have a problem out here,” Travis threatened.

Travis knew that Carter wasn’t from around there just by his accent. He had no problem showing him just how niggas from New Orleans got down when pushed to the limit. Carter, on the other hand, was pissed. He was sick of Rainey, and it was time for her to go. He really didn’t understand why Chase was keeping her around in the first place. His little brother was out chasing behind some chick that he’d met earlier while Carter had to deal with Rainey and her bullshit. He knew that the three men who were staring at him were not leaving without their money, so he reached into his pocket and paid what he owed them. He’d made enough enemies since he came to New Orleans, and he didn’t need any new ones.

“Here,” Carter said as he handed Travis his money back.

Travis counted the bills before he divided it up with his two friends. They were all walking away when he turned around and left Carter with a few parting words.

“If you plan to stay in this business for a while you need to invest in you some better bitches. The other one ain’t so bad, but that bitch Rainey is useless,” Travis said before they jumped into their car and drove away.

Carter was heated as he took the stairs two at a time trying to get to the room. When he opened the door, he found London cleaning up while Rainey sat on the bed frowning.

“Get your shit and get the fuck up out here. I don’t give a damn where you go, but your time here is up. You got me and my brother losing money dealing with your whining ass,” Carter yelled at Rainey.

“I’m not going anywhere. I don’t work for you. I work for Chase,” Rainey said unfazed by his angry stare.

“Bitch you think this is a game. Get your shit and bounce,” Carter said while forcefully pulling her up from the bed.

He went into the closet and started grabbing her bags letting her know that it was far from a game. She had to go, and that was all there was to it.

“Don’t touch my shit! And you better keep your hands off of me!” Rainey yelled as she pulled Carter making him bump into the cheap dresser.

“That’s just what I wanted you to do. Chase should have been beating your ass,” Carter said as he punched Rainey hard in her face with a closed fist.

London started screaming when Carter started beating her friend like they were equals. He was delivering blows to Rainey’s face and body that were sure to kill her if he didn’t stop soon. She was being tossed around like paper, but London was too afraid to help. She knew that she would be next if she even laid a finger on Carter. She just stood there crying and screaming for him to stop, but he never did listen. When Rainey blacked out and fell to the floor, Carter started kicking her small limp frame. There was so much blood on her that London couldn’t really see Rainey’s face.

“Carter stop, please. She’s not moving,” London cried.

She gently tugged on his arm to pull him out of the trance that he appeared to be in. When Carter finally looked down at Rainey, the panic began to set in soon after. He was sweating and breathing hard like he’d just run a marathon.

“Get your shit and let’s go,” he yelled at London.

“What! You’re going to leave her here without calling for some help?” London wondered.

“Are you trying to go to jail? The housekeeper will get some help for her when she comes in to clean up tonight. Shit, I didn’t mean to do that to her. She just made me snap. Let’s go London!” Carter yelled again.

“Carter no, I’m scared. We need to get some help for her. What if she dies?” London continued to cry.

“Get your shit and let’s get the fuck out of here. You think I’m about to let you call them people on me? Start moving before the same thing happens to you,” he threatened.

“Okay, but can I just call somebody from her phone, please? Maybe one of her friends can come and help her,” London begged. “We can’t do her dirty like this Carter.”

“Hurry up and do whatever you have to do so we can get up out of here,” Carter said agreeing to let her do what she was asking.

Carter would never admit it to her, but he was feeling London a little more than he should have been. That wasn’t a good look in his line of business, but he couldn’t help it. He grabbed London’s luggage and ran down to the car while she dialed somebody’s number on Rainey’s cell phone.

“Please pick up,” London mumbled to herself.

When she heard a familiar voice on the other end, she felt a small sense of relief.

“Hello,” the man on the other end of the phone said.

“Von, you need to come to the motel on the Westbank Expressway to see about Rainey. She’s in bad shape and she needs your help. She’s in room two fourteen,” London rambled.

“What motel?” Von yelled, but London had already hung up.

While Von was leaving home preparing to go see about his Goddaughter, Carter was rounding up the girls and his brothers, preparing to go back to Mississippi. Aside from Rainey and London, all of the other girls were from there anyway. He didn’t know how London would feel about leaving, but she really didn’t have a choice. She was an accessory to the crime that he’d committed and he’d be damned if he let her stay behind to rat him out.

  Chapter 27

Von sat in Rainey’s hospital room a little over a week later talking to Nicole. He really didn’t want them to get the police involved, but that was the first thing that Nicole did when she first laid eyes on her daughter’s bruised and battered body. Nicole never left her daughter’s side, but she cried every time she looked at her. When London called and told Von that Rainey needed help, he, Lamar and two of his brothers rushed right over to the cheap motel to see what was going on. For all he knew, London could have been setting him up, so he made sure that he didn’t go alone. Upon entering the room that London told him that Rainey was in Von couldn’t believe his eyes. All of the air left his lungs when he saw Rainey’s bloody body curled up on the dingy floor. She was beaten within an inch of her life and left to die like a stray dog on the streets. Von picked her up and wrapped a blanket around her before they all rushed her to the hospital. He hated to tell Nicole the bad news, but he really didn’t have a choice. When it was all said and done, Rainey’s injuries included two black eyes, a broken arm and several fractured and bruised ribs. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she had also contracted two STD’s. Von almost shed a few tears when she told him how a grown ass man beat her down like she was the same. She really didn’t know much about the men that she was working for aside from their first names and the fact that they were from some part of Mississippi. It wasn’t until she scrolled through her phone that she got some very pertinent information to give to the authorities. Apparently she had taken a picture of the license plate of their car when she first met them and that was enough for the police to start with.

“Are they saying anything about when she might be released?” Von asked Nicole as Rainey slept in the bed right next to them.

Her left arm was in a cast, and her bruises were healing up nicely. She still felt a lot of pain when she moved, but that was to be expected because of the bruising and fractures. She had to get stitches in her bottom lip, but that was healing up as well. When Von first saw her, Rainey’s lips were swollen to almost twice their normal size.

“She’s getting another x-ray in the morning, and they’ll let us know something then. I hate to see my baby in such bad shape, but I’m just happy that she’s still a
live,” Nicole replied.

“Same here,” Von agreed. “I just wish I could get my hands on the nigga that did this to her.”

“I wish I could get my hands on the bitch who stood there and let him. I’m sure they probably couldn’t beat him, but she could have at least tried to stop him. The police went to her mama’s house yesterday, but she claimed to not have seen her in a few weeks.”

“That bitch London is scandalous just like her mama. They’ll do anything to get and keep a man. I’m surprised that she even called me to let me know what was up.”

“That’s about the only smart thing that she did. I made sure to change Rainey’s number so that bitch can’t even get in contact with her anymore,” Nicole sad.

“You were right to do that. She doesn’t need those kinds of friends in her life anyway. But I’m about to get out of here. I haven’t seen my grandbaby since this morning and I’m missing her. Tell Rainey to call me when she gets up,” Von said while standing to her feet.

“I know you are spoiling her rotten,” Nicole smiled.

“You already know I am. That’s my heart,” Von replied

“I still can’t believe that Tank and Mia have a baby and are getting married.”

“Trust me, I feel just where you’re coming from. It took me a while to get used to the idea myself, but I love them being together,” Von said before giving Nicole a one armed hug and walking out of the room.

  ***

It took Von about twenty minutes to get home, but he was happy when he saw Tanya’s car parked in his driveway. They were just really able to start spending time with each other again since the holidays had passed. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Tanya stayed busy, but Von understood. Her business was booming and he was proud of her. Tanya didn’t need him to do anything for her, but Von enjoyed spoiling her. Tanya had been through hell and back with Duke’s father, but she didn’t let it break her. She hung in there as long as she could until finally she couldn’t take anymore. When she divorced him she kept it moving and never looked back. She didn’t depend on him to take care of their son either. Tanya always wanted to own her own business and she made that happen without the help of a man. Von respected her for that and so much more.
