“Well, I’ll be damned!” Misty exclaimed.

It was her little cooler that had floated up from the wreck of the Riker vessel.

She popped the lid off and lifted the huge tooth out.

“There it is,” McGill told her. “You have it back. See! I said you were going to be famous.”

She smiled and shook her head.

“Not like this I’m not,” she said then handed the tooth to McGill. “I think this is yours.”

McGill’s eyes shone as he stared at the tooth in his hand.

Misty leaned back against Barry and he wrapped his arms around her.

  Chapter 32

About ten miles northwest of them, Ghostie continued to swim further into the wide ocean, away from the cruiser and what little bits of flaming wreckage from the Riker vessel remained. The sensor in her back continued to beep and glow, then went dark after McGill committed the tracking device to its watery grave. No one would be able to hack the broadcast and locate her. Ghostie was free to return to her world without the fear that someone would always be trying to track her to either imprison her . . . or kill her.

Soon she was joined by another Megalodon that was a dark slate gray. Below them were more Megalodons, and below them giant squids, and below them the shadows of unknown creatures equally as massive and at home in the deep, deep black of the sea.

  The End
