Chapter One
Olivia walked inside of Victoria’s Secret looking for something sexy to put on for her fiancé Zay. She’d just had her six week checkup and was ready to give in to his wants and needs. As she pushed her little one in the stroller she glanced down inside of it and smiled at her baby girl. Having her daughter by the man that she loved was a blessing within itself. She smiled as she leaned down to talk to her.
“Hey Chloe,” she said in her baby talk. “Hey mama’s baby.” Even though Chloe was just six weeks old she was very bright and instantly knew when her mom was giving her some attention. She smiled at her mom making Olivia blush from enjoying the sight of her beautiful baby respond at the sound of her voice.
“May I help you?” The store clerk asked as she walked over while peeking inside of the stroller.
Olivia looked up in her direction and smiled at the petite, blonde head lady. “No, I’m actually just going to browse for a moment.” She responded.
“You have a pretty baby,” the lady smiled as she leaned down to talk to Chloe.
“Thanks,” Olivia said as her cell phone started to ring. “Excuse me,” she said, and then answered her iPhone. “Where are you?” she instantly questioned her sister.
“I’m coming,” Zoe quickly responded. “This traffic is no joke.”
“Yeah right, your ass is just late as usual.” She jokingly stated.
“Your hot ass is just ready to fuck something.” Zoe teased with a light chuckle. “I’m coming to get my baby. I know she misses her auntie.”
“Sis, you’re only keeping her for one night. So, be home tomorrow when I come pick her up.”
Zoe laughed. “I’ll be home.”
“No, I’m serious. You love trying to kidnap my baby. If it’s not you, it’s mom and dad. I wish you and Dillon would have one so that mom and dad would have another baby to beg for every other day.” She teased with a soft chuckle.
“That doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but I don’t know if I’m ready for a baby yet.” Zoe admitted. “However, with Chloe being around now I think that Dillon is ready for one.”
“Well, give him one. Y’all make the cutest couple and you’d be a great mom.”
Zoe sighed. “Maybe,” she responded, but being a mom was farthest from her mind since thoughts of Dillon possibly already having a child by someone else stained her brain.
“I think I see something that I like.” Olivia chimed in as she picked up a lace, pink and black baby doll nighty. She didn’t wanna overdo it, but she did want to give her man something to look forward to getting.
“Well, don’t pick up anything just yet. Let me help you pick out something sexy for him, because I know your plain Jane ass.” She chuckled. “I’ll be pulling up shortly.”
“Okay, I’m in Victoria’s Secret.” She said, “And, hurry up.”
“I’m coming,” Zoe responded as they then ended their call.
Olivia glanced back inside of the stroller at Chloe. She had fallen asleep just that quickly. She then turned back to face the racks of lingerie hanging in front of her. As she browsed through the different pieces of skimpy attire, Angel eased up behind her, but she stopped right in front of Chloe’s stroller and just stood there staring at her.
She is so beautiful, she thought. She leaned down closer to Chloe and lightly placed her hand on the little one’s chest. Oh how I wish this baby was mine, her thoughts continued. She smiled at how peacefully baby Chloe slept like she didn’t have a care in the world. She should’ve been mine and I want her. She thought as she looked up to make sure that no one was watching her. Olivia still had her back turned so she was oblivious to the fact that Angel was actually standing over her baby and watching her in such a disturbing manner.
Angel sighed while taking in a quiet, deep breath. Her heart ached since the loss of her baby some six weeks prior. She was still devastated inside and just wanted closure. It had been hard for her to move on and especially since knowing that Olivia had now started a family with her ex-boyfriend. Someone that she once loved with all of her heart. Even though it was a strange twist of faith, she was now with Mark, Olivia’s ex-husband. She loved him dearly, but knowing about Felisha having twins by him on the same day that she’d lost her baby ate at her soul. She was supposed to be the one having a baby by him not his home wrecking ass baby mama.
Damn, I want this baby. She thought like she’d zoned out as she rubbed her hands lightly in Chloe’s soft, slick hair.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Zoe asked as she walked up on Angel. This startled Olivia as she turned to see what the commotion was about.
The minute she saw Angel standing over her baby her heart dropped. She was definitely aware of Angel losing her baby on the same day that she’d given birth to her daughter and it somewhat frightened her to see that she was that close to Chloe and she not know it. She attempted to say something, but Zoe cut her off.
“Sis, this bitch was rubbing in Chloe’s hair. Did you even know that she was standing here?”
Olivia unpleasantly frowned. “No, I didn’t.” She responded not once taking her eyes off of Angel now.
“I didn’t mean any harm. I just walked by and saw Olivia looking at some things and I just wanted to see the baby since I hadn’t seen her yet.”
“You’re not supposed to see her,” Zoe said. “I wanna know why the hell are you rubbing in my niece’s hair? We don’t fuck with you like that.” She bluntly stated with menacing eyes.
“Excuse me ladies, is there a problem here?” The blonde headed clerk asked as she made her way over.
“No,” Angel said. “I was just leaving.” She said as she looked over at Olivia with a blank expression on her face.
Olivia didn’t know what to make out of it as she stood there still feeling stunned to see Angel for the first time in months.
“I’m sorry that I upset y’all.” Angel said as sorrowfully as she could. As she walked away, Olivia stopped her.
“Angel,” she called out. Angel looked back at her with tears in her eyes. “I’m sorry to hear about you and Mark’s loss, but please stay away from me and my baby.”
“Right,” Zoe chimed in. “Standing over my niece like she was obsessed or something.”
Angel didn’t say a word. She just quietly made her exit like nothing had just happened. Zoe and Olivia stood there looking at each other for a moment like they were in disbelief.
“What was up with that?” Zoe questioned with a frown on her face.
“I don’t know. I didn’t even know that she was standing here.” Olivia responded. “That woman gives me the
creeps.”
“She gives me the creeps too, but I’ll beat that bitch ass if she put her hands back on my niece.” Zoe ranted. She didn’t know too much about Angel, but what she did know wasn’t good. According to Dillon she was a snake and definitely couldn’t be trusted.
Olivia uncomfortably shook her head. “I need to be more aware of my surroundings.”
“You sure do,” Zoe responded. “Had I not shown up, you would’ve turned around to an empty stroller.”
Olivia’s nervous eyes wandered down to Chloe, and then back up to her sister. “You don’t think she would’ve kidnapped my baby do you?”
“I don’t know what that woman would’ve done, but the way she was eyeballing Chloe didn’t look healthy. I understand that she lost a baby and I know that had to be devastating, but trying to see you and Zay’s baby like she needed it in her life bothers me. It’s bad enough that y’all had your babies on the same day, but even worse that hers didn’t make it. All I’m saying is to be careful when you’re out and about. Look out for that bitch, because she is definitely up to something. I don’t know what, but whatever it is it’s not good.” Zoe said as she leaned down inside the stroller and pecked her niece on the cheek with a soft kiss.
“I hear you, Sis.” Olivia said. “Let’s just shop so that I can get back home to my fiancé and you can spend some quality time with your niece.” She and Zoe started shopping like they’d met up to do, but seeing Angel and hearing what Zoe had to say about her weighed heavily in her thoughts.

Angel sat inside of her car feeling distraught. She was overwhelmed and was trying as hard as she could to deal with those emotions. The sight of any baby would always put her in a depressive state, but seeing Zay’s daughter for the first time really put a damper on her mood. For some strange reason seeing his baby by another woman brought back memories of when they were together and if only she had been the woman that he needed that baby could’ve very well been theirs.
“Don’t do this to yourself, Angel.” She coached herself while taking in a much needed deep breath. It seemed like she couldn’t catch a break. She had called herself moved on and had gotten into a serious relationship with the unlikeliest person of them all, but Mark had been more than just there for her. He was her confidant and friend. He’d become her lover and from what she could tell he loved her very much. They both had been going through a lot, but they’d been each other’s backbone. Strangely, that seemed to work for them. Even though she loved Mark dearly, she couldn’t shake the fact that Zay had moved on and was now happy with someone else. It was even harder now to get him out of her head and seeing baby Chloe didn’t make it any easier. “Urrrgh,” she said hitting the steering wheel with her fist. “What is wrong with me?” Her mind was all over the place and clearly she wasn’t in a good head space. She picked up her purse and began rambling through it. The only thing she wanted was to take something that would alleviate the pain from the heartache that was still very present from losing her daughter. Quickly she found the bottle of Valium that was prescribed for her depression as a quick fix when she needed it the most. Even though she was behind the wheel, she still opened the bottle and popped a pill in her mouth. She swallowed it with nothing to drink behind it. After sitting for nearly fifteen minutes while deep in thought, she grabbed her cell phone to make a call.

“So, I heard that you might be gettin’ busy tonight.” Dillon said with a chuckle as he looked over at his brother who was sitting across from him on the couch flipping through the channels on the TV.
Zay laughed out loud. “You always got jokes, man.”
“I know you’re happy. I see it in your face.”
“Nigga please,” Zay responded while settling on ESPN so they could get a quick overview of what had been going on in the sports world.
“I bet you got blue balls.” Dillon added as he laughed out loud. “See, sleeping with a beautiful woman for six weeks and not being able to get any is tragic.”
“Who says that I wasn’t gettin’ none?” Zay questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Dillon gave him the side eye. “A’ight, fuck around and have another baby on the way.”
“I didn’t say that we were having sex. But trust me; my woman knows other ways to please her man.” Zay gloated with a confident smile.
“Y’all so nasty,” Dillon joked. “I gotta admit it, Bro. I wanna be just like you when I grow up.”
Zay grinned at his comment.
“No, I’m serious. You’re doing well for yourself, you have a loving fiancé, and a beautiful daughter. You even got mom on my ass about having a baby now.” He said with a shake of the head.
“What’s so wrong with that?” Zay questioned.
“Nothing is wrong with it, but Zoe ain’t ready for that.” He said with a confusing shake of the head. “I mean, ever since she saw Rhianna that night she’s been iffy about a lot of things.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Zay questioned with a frown on his face.
“Meaning that Rhianna has a child, by the name of Delia, and she’s eight years old. Zoe thinks that the little girl is mine.”
“Okay and,” Zay responded.
“And, she ain’t having that shit.” Dillon bluntly stated. “She don’t want Rihanna to show up on our doorstep one day talking about Delia is my daughter. She wants to know if she’s my daughter right now so she’ll know how to proceed in our relationship.”
“Well, Delia is before her time if that is your daughter.”
“Yeah, but I think she’s more concerned about Rihanna than she is about Delia. You know how women are. Zoe is the sexiest woman I’ve ever been with, but once she laid eyes on Rihanna I think some of her insecurities started to play on her conscious. She’s been hurt before. You know how that is.”
“Yeah, trust me; I do know how that is.” He said thinking about Olivia and her previous situation with Mark. “That’s why I always tell my baby what she means to me and I go out my way to show her. That nigga, Mark, did some real shady shit to her and now I’m having to clean up his mess. Not that I mind, because I love her,” he added. “But, it’s tough when a woman can’t get over the feeling that she might get hurt again in yet another relationship that she’s trying so hard to give a solid chance.”
“Tell me about it.” Dillon said. “I don’t know what we’re gonna do about this situation, but I do think that I need to find out if Delia is mine or not.”
“Yeah, I think so, too.” Zay agreed as he glanced down at his phone ringing. With a frown on his face he answered. “Hello.” Silence was on the other end of the phone. “Hello,” he repeated, but no one responded.
“Is that the same person that’s been calling and just listening then hang up,” Dillon whispered in the background. “Let me talk to ‘em.”
Zay shook his head, and then said, “Angel.”
Dillon’s eyes widened as he shot Zay a concerned look.
“I know it’s you, because your number showed this time.” He said, but before he could say anything else the call ended. Zay took the phone from his ear to look at the display and sure enough she had ended the call. He then looked over at Dillon. “Well, she hung up.”
“Wow,” Dillon said with a shake of the head. “So, the crazy woman called and forgot to block the number this time? Do you think it’s been her all along?”
Zay nodded his head up and down. “Yeah, I do think it’s been her this whole time.”
“That bitch is crazy then. That shit has been going on for the past couple of weeks.”
“Yeah, like three to four times a day.” Zay added. “I feel bad for her though, Bro. She lost her baby. She gotta be feeling some type of way. I spoke to Cuz and she told me that the doctors have put her on antidepressant pills and she’s also seeing a Psychologist to help her cope with the loss of her baby. I don’t feel sorry for that nigga Mark, but I do feel sorry for her.”
“Well, I hope she gets the help
she needs, because calling your phone like that is weird enough. Why not just say something? I never really trusted her as is and now I’m really having my suspicions about her. I know that she’s grieving and all, but something is off key with that chick. I’m telling you, Bro. Keep a close eye on her. Make sure that cuz keeps you updated as much as she can. You don’t ever wanna sleep on a woman like Angel. No telling what she’s up to.” Dillon told him.
Zay nodded his head up and down, and then said, “You’re right.” He agreed. “There is no telling with Angel.”
Chapter 2
Felisha stepped out of her new white Lexus GS 450 and hit the key lock on the key ring to lock the doors. The sun shined brightly above as she headed inside of her nail salon feeling like the day was going to be a much better day than she’d been experiencing as of lately. As she entered the front entrance door of her salon, her cousin Patrice greeted her.
“Hey Cuz, how’s your morning?”
Felisha smiled as she nodded her head in her cousin’s direction, and then responded, “I’m good.” She said walking over to the receptionist desk that Patrice sat behind while handing her a BojAngels’ bag.
“Aww, thanks Fe. You didn’t have too.”
“Well, you said that you hadn’t eaten when we spoke earlier this morning and I know how much you love their Cajun filet biscuits.”
Patrice started smiling. “Yesssss, I don’t know why, but I do.” She cheesed while going into the bag. “I’m so hungry.”
Felisha grinned at her as Patrice quickly unwrapped the chicken filet biscuit and bit into it. “I’m glad I did get your greedy butt something to eat. You probably wouldn’t have made it to lunch.” She teased.
She and Patrice were the first two at the nail salon and it was quite quiet considering that it was going to be a busy day since the Prom was later that evening. Felisha smiled to herself feeling proud of her business which was the one thing that she could thank Mark for. Had it not been for him blackmailing Olivia into letting her keep it, she’d be out on the streets having to start from scratch. She glanced around at the new décor that was making the salon more of her place of business. By her and Olivia once being best friends and Olivia being the primary owner over her shop, she helped in decorating the place. But now Felisha had to come to terms that their friendship was over so she felt it only right to do a little remodeling. She’d come to realize that the bond that she and Olivia once shared was now behind her. There was no way that she could ever be forgiven for sleeping with her ex-best friend’s husband behind her back. Not only had she given birth to a son that Olivia obliviously played an auntie to, but she’d also managed to have twins just six weeks prior by him as well.
