Anika sighed and told her all about how she had been feeling and her plan to stay behind and help Symir and the men find them. She had her own personal vendetta against Linx anyway, which made her want to find him even more.

“Well, I think we should do it.”

  “We?” Anika asked.

“Yea, girl. I have always been my brother’s protector and had his back no matter what. I always knew Cordae was a bitch just like his daddy, but he crossed the line when he put them bullets in my brother,” Patience fumed.

Even though the three never did really like each other, she couldn’t believe that Cordae would be as stupid and crazy as to shoot his own brother. All that over what, though? He claimed he was pissed because Asia killed Tone, but who cares? That man never gave a damn about either one of them a day in his life.

Even before their mother moved to North Carolina when she got tired of him beating her ass, they ever rarely did see him and what made it so bad was that they were all living under the same roof. Whenever he was home, he acted as if his kids didn’t exist, so they really had no love for him in their hearts. Patience really felt as if Tone got exactly what he deserved.

“So I already know that Symir is not going to go for it or let me stay, so I’m not going to tell him. I’m going to go ahead and let them drop us off at the airport but that’s as far as we’re going to go,” Anika explained.

“So how are going to get home from the airport? I know. We can crash at my spot until we can figure out what we’re going to do,” Patience suggested.

“That could work, but I think I’ll just get a rental so we can get around because he’ll know something is up if one of our cars isn’t in the garage,” said Anika.

Unbeknownst to them, Mickey stood at the door with it cracked open, listening to everything that they were saying. He knew Symir and Knowledge would be pissed if they knew Anika and Patience were up here plotting which is exactly why he wasn’t going to tell them. He felt where Anika was coming from and getting at Linx herself could actually help her get some closure.

Even though he may not tell the other men their plan, he was going to keep an eye on them to make sure they were straight and didn’t get hurt. He would watch them from a distance until it was time for him to show his hand in knowing their little plan.

  Chapter Five

Still pissed off that Symir had killed his mother and brother, Linx had begun to make his own plans for Asia. He didn’t give a fuck what Cordae had planned anymore; he was acting like a bitch now and Linx was tired of it. He didn’t understand the point of keeping Asia here just to make her family think that she was dead if they weren’t going to really murk her ass or at least fuck her up. But the plan he had for her ass, he knew it was going to work perfectly. Everything was already set into motion and all he had to do was put the finishing touches on it.

Linx was sitting at the table smoking a blunt when Chelsea walked in. He looked at her with squinted eyes because something about her seemed different. He couldn’t put his finger on what it was, but she definitely looked different.

“How was the funeral?” he asked even though he really didn’t give a fuck.

“It was as flamboyant and beautiful, as I expected. That little bitch down there was truly loved,” Chelsea spat as she rolled her eyes.

“I don’t see how the hell you can be here and do all this and not even call to check on your daughter,” Linx said as he cut his eyes at Chelsea.

“Don’t worry about what the fuck I do. My daughter is good and that’s all that matters to me.”

“What I don’t understand is why you’re even here in the first place? Ain’t you and Cordae fucking? So why are you really mad at Asia? Is that even ol boy baby?” Linx questioned as he blew a cloud of smoke in her face.

Chelsea sat there fuming. She didn’t know how he knew about her and Cordae, unless Cordae had been running his mouth. Nobody was supposed to know about the two little times they had slept together. But more importantly, she was pissed that he would even insinuate that Serenity was Cordae’s daughter.

“I don’t know what the fuck you are talking about, but you better leave that bullshit you’re smoking alone. I know for a fact that Serenity is Knowledge’s daughter because I was already pregnant before we even moved here. I’m not going to tell you again not to worry about what the fuck I do,” she spat before getting up and walking away.

Linx continued to sit there with a smirk. He thought it was funny how she was pissed at Asia for fucking Knowledge while she over here fucking his damn brother. If she was really as mad as she claimed, she would have left the nigga, but she was on some other shit. That’s a scandalous ass bitch.

“Cordae!” Chelsea yelled as she busted into his room.

“What?” he asked, ignoring the fact that she was yelling.

“You been running your mouth?” Chelsea asked with an attitude.

“Man, what the fuck is you talking about? Stop speaking in fucking riddles and say what the fuck you gotta say,” Cordae said.

“How the fuck do that nigga in there know that we been fucking? That’s some hoe ass shit to be running your mouth about what we do.”

Cordae looked at her like she was crazy before he laughed at her. He just knew good and damn well that she was not in here mad because she was throwing the pussy at him and he caught it.

“Chelsea, get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. I’m a grown ass man. I don’t have to go running my mouth about shit. Besides, it wasn’t shit for me to go bragging about in the first place,” Cordae said with a serious look on his face.

Chelsea stood there with her arms folded, not knowing how to take what he’d just said. She didn’t know if he was trying to say if her sex was whack or what, but it definitely was a low blow.

Cordae meant exactly what he’d said. Chelsea wasn’t shit to brag about. He could see why Knowledge strayed and fucked Asia because Chelsea’s pussy was whack as hell. She didn’t even know how to fuck; all she did was lay there and let him do all the work. The only reason he even fucked her was because he was bored and needed a fucking release.

“Well, you heard what I said,” she said, not knowing what else to say.

“And you heard what the fuck I said. Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.” He pointed to his bedroom door.

Asia laid in the middle of the bed, curled up in a fetal position. She felt as if she was slowly starting to lose her mind. She had lost track of how long she had been held captive and was slowly starting to lose the faith. She wanted so badly for her brother to come kicking the doors in and find her like she knew he would, but things weren’t looking as if that was about to happen.

She felt herself dipping deeper and deeper into depression and it was getting hard for her to fight it. The only thing she wanted was to wrap her arms around her babies and never let them go. For the first time since she had been held hostage in that basement, Asia cried.

She knew the possibilities of her getting out of this were slim to none. She would probably never see the light of day again and she was slowly starting to accept that. She just hoped that Symir, Knowledge and Khyree would tell her babies about her and never let them forget her. She prayed that Knowledge would let Wysdom know that she was loved even though they only got to spend a short amount of time together.

Asia didn’t even care enough to look up when she heard the door creak as it opened. She knew who it was because he was the only one who came down here to fuck with her and as of right now, she didn’t have the strength to fight with Linx.

Linx walked over to the bed and pulled Asia out of it by her hair, punching her in the face once and hitting her in the eye.

“I told you this wasn’t over, bitch,” he sneered.

Asia just laid there, not caring anymore. She gave up and was accepting her fate. Linx smiled when he noticed Asia didn’t fight him back like she always did. He knew he had finally broken her just like he had done with An
ika. He reached into his back pocket and grabbed the needle he had filled with heroin and got on his knees. He grabbed Asia’s arm, looking for a vein to stick the needle in.

Asia let out a low whimper as she felt the needle penetrate her skin. “No, no,” she whispered as she felt the drugs entering her body.

After emptying the contents of the needle into Asia’s body, Linx stood to his feet with a smile. Phase one of his plan was now into full effect. Asia laid there on the floor staring straight up at the ceiling as she felt the effects of her first high.

  Chapter Six

Anika and Patience waited until the plane they were supposed to be on took off before they decided to leave. As they were walking and talking, they never noticed Mickey standing there at the rental car counter. Anika finally looked up and looked like a deer caught in headlights.

  “Mickey, I…um…” Anika stammered.

“Save it, Nika. I know all about your plan. Words of advice to you two. If you’re going to plot, at least make sure nobody is around to hear it.” He shook his head.

Anika and Patience looked at each other and started laughing.

“You’re not going to tell Symir, are you?” Anika asked.

“No, but you are. Let’s go,” Mickey said.

Anika groaned. She knew that she would eventually have to face Symir, but she didn’t think it would be this damn early in the game. The trio rode in silence as they were all lost in their own thoughts. Suddenly Anika was starting to rethink her decision to stay behind, knowing that Symir wouldn’t be too happy with her. But there was nothing she could do about it now.

Patience sat in the backseat having a battle within herself. She knew her brother was going to feel some type of way about her trying to help, but she didn’t give a damn what he had to say. From the time he first introduced her to Asia, she knew she was going to like her. The two had begun to form a sisterly bond just to have it ripped away by a jealous piece of shit. She wished Knowledge would have put a bullet in his ass a long time ago. She always told Knowledge not to trust Cordae; he was a bitch just like their sperm donor.

Mickey sighed as he pulled up to the warehouse where Symir was holding his monthly meeting. He knew as soon as the three of them stepped through the doors they all were going to be chewed a new asshole.

Symir was in the middle of his sentence when he heard the doors of the warehouse creak open.

“You’re late, Mekal,” Symir said without turning around.

“I got a little caught up,” Mickey said as he walked closer to the table where everyone was seated with the girls trailing behind him.

  “What could you—“

“Aw, hell naw!” Knowledge yelled, cutting Symir off as he stood to his feet and glared at his sister.

Symir turned around to see why Knowledge was yelling and had to do a double take because he knew his eyes just had to be deceiving him since he knew Patience and Anika were on their way to North Carolina right now.

“Yo, what the fuck?!” Symir’s voice roared throughout the warehouse, causing Anika to jump.

  “Look, Mir, I—“

“Look my ass, Nika. You two better walk the fuck back out that door and head to the airport or it’s going to be some serious shit,” Symir said.

Anika swallowed the lump in her throat and took a deep breath. “I’m not going no fucking where until we get my fucking sister back!” she yelled, shocking everyone, especially Symir. “You’re not thinking rationally right now and you’re out for blood, which I completely understand, but I have some information that I know could be very useful right now.” Anika explained.

“What information could you possibly have?” Symir asked.

“As we all know, Linx has something to do with this, which means he and Cordae have been working together, and they have been for a while now.” Anika sighed.

“What the hell do you mean, for a while now?” Symir asked confused.

“Cordae and Linx are cousins.” Anika couldn’t look Symir in the eyes so she looked at the men seated around the table. “When I was with Linx, Cordae used to always come around. Of course, I would be too high to even give a shit, but I remember him coming around as clear as day. That’s why Cordae always played Captain Save-A-Hoe whenever you tried to beat his ass.”

Symir stood there with his jaws clenched together trying his hardest not to slap the shit out of Anika. She had known this shit all along but would wait until now to tell him some shit like this. Had he knew this before, he would have been put a bullet in both of those grimy nigga’s heads. His sister could still be alive, but she wasn’t and he felt as if Anika was being disloyal at the moment.

“Mickey, take Patience and Anika home,” he ordered before turning his attention back to Anika. “I’ll take care of you when I get home.”

Anika stood there with a confused look on her face. She had basically just told Symir something that could be useful but he was acting as if he couldn’t stand the sight of her. She stood there glaring at him as Patience grabbed her wrist and tugged it to get her to come on.

After they left, Symir shook his head and looked over at Knowledge who held a look similar to his. He knew some shit would hit the fan eventually but he never would have thought his so called fiancé would be caught in the middle of it.

“Yo, Symir,” Derrick spoke up to get his attention. “I got word that Cordae just popped up at his mother’s house. What you wanna do?”

Symir rubbed his chin. He loved Ms. Loretta as if she were his own mother. She couldn’t help the fact that her son was a fucking snake and Symir would never want her to end up a causality in the war that her son carelessly started.

“Have someone tail him and see where he leads us to. Don’t lose him. When we find out where the bitch has been laying his head, I’ll take it from there,” Symir announced. “This meeting is adjourned. Knowledge and Cole, meet me at my crib,” he said before walking away.

Anika paced the floor in the den as she waited for Symir to get home. She knew it would be some shit because she chose to stay behind, but she didn’t expect him to act as if he was disgusted with her. That look he gave her today was one that she had never seen, not even when he found out that she was hooked on drugs, and that’s the part that hurt the worse.

“Nika, calm down. What if you’re overthinking?” Patience asked.

“Nah, I seen the look in his eyes, Patience. That man has never looked at me like that.” Just then, she heard the front door slam shut. She took a deep breath to prepare herself for the storm that she knew was coming.

“Where the fuck you at?” Symir yelled as he walked through the house.

Before Anika could even answer him, he walked past the den but retracted his steps once he saw her standing there. He charged at her like a raging bull before grabbing her by her throat with death in his eyes.

“Why the fuck would you wait so long to tell me some shit like that, huh? What? You was working with them niggas this whole time, wasn’t you? You helped them set this shit up? You helped them niggas kill my sister?” Symir yelled in her face as he squeezed her throat tighter and tighter with each question.

Anika couldn’t answer him even if she wanted to. He was squeezing so tight that she was starting to see stars. The last time she had seen him this mad was when he found the drugs in her purse.

“Yo, Mir, chill, man. You’re going to kill her!” Cole yelled as he and Knowledge tried to pull him off of her.

“Fuck that shit! This crack head bitch helped them kill my sister,” Symir bellowed as he let her throat go and her body hit the floor.

Everyone except Symir panicked once they noticed she wasn’t moving. Patience ran over to check for a pulse but she couldn’t find one. Tears immediately started to blur her vision.

“Oh my God! I think she’s dead!” she cried.

“Good,” Symir said before leaving out of the den.

Patience continued to feel around for a pulse until she found a faint one.

“She’s still alive. We have to get her to the hospital!” Patience yelled.

Cole picked her limp body up and ran out to the car and placed her in the backseat. Knowledge wanted to make sure his boy was straight but Anika was more important right now so he would come back to check on him later.

  Beep Beep Beep

Anika woke up to the sounds of something beeping and a bad ass headache. She looked around and noticed that Mama Crystal, Mama Juanita and Patience were all in the room watching something on TV. How the hell did they get here? she thought as she closed her eyes. Memories of what happened came rushing back to her and her eyes got teary but she refused to let them fall.

“Girl, don’t play. I just seen them eyes open. You can bet your ass I had to chew that son of mines a new asshole for this one. But don’t worry. The doctors said that you and the baby will be fine. They just want to keep you here to make sure,” Crystal informed her.

“Baby?” Anika asked, confused, without opening her eyes.

“You didn’t know?” Crystal asked, confused. “You’re three months pregnant.”

That was all Anika needed to hear. She had let Symir get away with putting his hands on her when he found the drugs in her purse but he had gone entirely too far with this one. She was hurt that he would actually accuse her of helping Linx and Cordae kill Asia. She didn’t even know how he came up to that conclusion. One thing she did know was that she was definitely done with him.

Of course she loved him with all her heart, but she was tired of him thinking it was okay to just take his anger and frustrations out on her when it became too much for him to handle. She didn’t have just herself to think about anymore. She had her new baby and Sasha to think of also. She was going to make her next move her best move.

  Chapter Seven

It was about three o’clock in the morning when Linx crept down into the basement as Asia sat on the bed rocking back and forth. She didn’t know what the hell Linx had given her, but it didn’t have her feeling like herself. She looked up and saw him coming and she tried to move to the other side of the room, but he cornered her. He punched her in her head, knocking her out instantly.
