Feels So Right, It Must Be Wrong 3 Page 12

Patience sighed as she watched Asia walk away. She wanted so badly to tell her that her stubborn ass brother ran away on a vacation with the next bitch, but they already had enough issues that they needed to resolve. She knew if she told Asia that, she wouldn’t even want to have a talk with Knowledge. She was hopping that those two would get it together.

  Chapter Twenty Two

Knowledge walked through the villa in search for Courtney. He had just came from the beach where he took a walk and cleared his mind. He found her in the bedroom, laying on her stomach while going over some papers.

“Don’t tell me I brought you all the way to Fiji just so you could work,” he said as he climbed on the bed and laid on top of her.

Courtney giggled. “An accountant’s job is never done.”

“Welp, it is today. We’re on a tropical island. Save that work for The States,” he said as he took the papers from her.

“Knowledge, you said you needed to come here because you were in desperate need of a vacation,” Courtney said as she turned on her back and looked up at him.

  “Yea, I know.” He shrugged.

“So why did you bring me here?” she asked as she bit her lip.

“Maybe because I really enjoyed your company and didn’t want to come all this way by myself. What, you tired of me?” he asked.

“No,” she shook her head quickly. “I’m just asking because I’m wondering where we’re going with this.”

Knowledge sat up and looked at her. He had never been the one to sugar coat or lie, so he wasn’t about to start now.

“Honestly, I just want somebody to chill and have some fun with, like I told you from the get go. I’m not looking to be in a relationship for the simple fact that I can admit that I still have some feelings for my daughter’s mother, and we have some issues that we never resolved and we keep avoiding them. That wouldn’t be fair to you if I jumped into something serious with you if I wasn’t sure that I’m completely done with her,” he said truthfully.

Courtney couldn’t do anything but nod her head. “I appreciate your honesty.”

“Yea, well, that doesn’t mean that I’m counting you out just yet. You’re actually a good woman and any man would be lucky to have you. I just have too much going on, but that doesn’t mean I’m kicking you to the curb. That is, unless you don’t want to be bothered with a nigga no more,” he said.

“Oh, no. You’re not getting away from me that easily. I’ve never been the type to go down without a fight, so you better tell your baby mama that she better pull out the big guns if she thinks she’s getting you back.”

Knowledge laughed but for some reason, he knew she wasn’t joking. She was dead ass serious, but she just didn’t know what she would be getting herself into if Asia did want him.

  BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Patience’s eyes popped open as she looked over at her clock. The neon lights let her know that it was only three thirty in the morning. She rolled her eyes as she went to go see who the hell was knocking on her damn door like the police. Oh shit, what if it is the police? she thought to herself as she ran down the stairs. She wasn’t sure if the police had found out about Chelsea and wanted to question her brother or what.

She swung the door open. Luckily, it wasn’t the police but she wanted to cuss Mickey out for knocking on her damn door like that.

“Last time it was four o’clock in the morning. Now you choose thirty minutes earlier. Do you not know any decent times to come over?” she asked with an attitude.

  “I couldn’t sleep,” Mickey shrugged.

“And what was coming over here supposed to do for you?” she questioned.

“If you would let me in, maybe we could find out.”

Patience stood there glaring at him through squinted eyes.

  “Mickey, why ca—”

Her sentence was cut short by him pressing his lips against hers. Just like the last time, this kiss caught her off guard but was still intense. Mickey picked her up as he walked into the house and used his foot to close the door without breaking their kiss.

Patience broke the kiss and wiggled out of his arms. “Stop, Mickey!”

  “What? What's wrong?” he asked.

“What do you want from me?” she questioned.

  “Seriously?”

“Yes, seriously. This is the second time you've popped up at my house in the middle of the night. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell is going on in that head of yours. Is this going to be a sex thing? You need a friend? What? Just let me know now so I'll know what to expect.”

Mickey scratched the back of his head as he stared at Patience. Hell, honestly, he didn't know what he wanted. “I really don't know what I want besides the fact that I want you. I don't want this between us to be just sex because I can get that anywhere. Do I need a friend, you ask? Shit, probably. You know what I'm into, so you know this can be stressful. I just…I don't know, Patience. I want you in my life,” Mickey said with a sigh.

  “Okay,” she shrugged.

  “Okay?” he questioned.

“Yea, I guess that's cool. You didn't really answer my question but I'm too tired and sleepy to get into this right now,” she said as she turned to go up the stairs.

To be honest, she wasn't too sure of what she wanted either. It would be nice to have someone around that she could chill with and talk to besides her brother. If this thing, whatever it was that they had going on between them, went further, then they would worry about that when they got there.

  Chapter Twenty Three

Knowledge had been back in The States now for a week and he had spent most of his time back in the house with his little bit. Serenity was always the highlight of his day. She had him doing all kinds of crazy stuff, like watching Doc McStuffins or having tea parties and painting her toes. He wasn’t complaining though. Anything she wanted, she would get.

  “Hello?” he answered his phone.

“Hey, are you busy?” Asia asked.

“No, I’m just chilling with Serenity,” he answered, surprised that she had even called him.

  “Umm, are y’all alone?”

“I don’t let her come over when I have my daughters here,” Knowledge answered, already knowing what she was insinuating.

“Oh.” Asia didn’t know what to say after that.

  “What’s up, A?”

“You want some company? Wysdom has been over here saying ‘Da da’ for the past hour, so I’m guessing she misses you,” Asia asked.

Bet she’s not the only one who misses me, he thought but refused to say.

“Bring her. You do remember where I live, right?” he halfway joked.

“Ha ha, very funny. Yes, I remember where you live, Omari,” Asia said sarcastically.

“Oh, I’m Omari now? I was starting to get used to you calling me Knowledge,” he said through a smile.

Asia got quiet because she didn’t even realize that she had called him Omari. “Ugh, I’m on my way,” she said before hanging up.

Knowledge couldn’t help but to laugh. He would never understand why Asia always tried to play that tough girl role when it came to him when she knew damn well he could see through her.

“Why you laugh, daddy?” Serenity asked.

“No reason, little bit. Asia is bringing your sister over,” he told her as he picked her up and started tickling her.

“Daddyyyyyy!” Serenity laughed as she tried to stop him.

“Give me a kiss and I’ll stop,” he said.

Serenity sat up and gave her daddy a kiss on both of his cheeks before giving him one on his lips. “I love you, daddy.”

  “I love you, too, Serenity.”

Seconds later, his doorbell was ringing. He put Serenity on his shoulders as he went to answer the door.

“Damn, were you parked in my driveway?” he asked Asia. “You got here fast.”

“No, I was already on my way.” She rolled her eyes. “Hey, Serenity.”

“Asia!” Serenity yelled as she bounced up and down on Knowledge’s shoulders.

Asia walked into the living room where she put Wysdom on the couch and dug into her bag for her toys before giving her her bottle.

  “Da da,” Wysdom said.

Knowledge put Serenity back on the ground as he picked Wysdom up and kissed her all over her face.

“Omari, put her down. She just had a sucker and her hands are sticky,” Asia protested as she dug for Wysdom’s diaper wipes in her bag.

“Baby girl, tell your mommy to hush,” he said as he continued to kiss her chubby cheeks.

“You are so hardheaded.” She shook her head as she took Wysdom from him.

Knowledge was about to say something but the view Asia just gave him halted him. Asia was bending over wiping Wysdom’s hands and the little ass shorts she had on rose a little, giving him a peek of her ass cheeks. Not even trying to hide his approval, he reached back and slapped her on the ass as hard as he could.

  “Ouch! Nigga, what the fu—”

“Watch your mouth,” he said as he pointed at Serenity and Wysdom.

“Omari, I actually like you today. Please don’t mess that up.”

Knowledge walked up in her personal space and stared down at her. “You like me today?” he asked.

“You know what, I’m about to go.” Asia shook her head. This is exactly why she tried to avoid him at all costs. He always made her feel funny and clouded her judgment.

“Chill, I was just playing,” Knowledge laughed.

Asia put the TV on cartoons for the girls before turning back to Knowledge. “Can we talk?” she asked.

“Follow me,” he said as he led her to the den. “What’s up?”

Asia sighed before she said lost the courage to say everything on her mind.

“Omari, I know things between us haven’t been all that great lately and I’m taking full responsibility for that. I’ve been acting like the spoiled brat that I am. I never stopped to think about how you felt throughout this whole ordeal simply because I was being selfish and only thinking about myself. We share a daughter together and I love Serenity as if I birthed her, so whether we like it or not, we’re going to be in each other’s lives for, like, ever. I respect whatever it is you have going on with that one girl. I was just wondering if we could be friends,” Asia said in one big breath.

Knowledge stood there staring at her with a smirk on his face. He was wondering how much it was eating her up to do this because like she said, she was a spoiled brat and not only was she a brat but she was very stubborn. “So, when you say friends, does that mean with benefits, or what?” he asked.

Asia laughed and shook her head. “I just sat here and poured my heart out in a sincere apology and that’s all you can say?”

“I’m just saying, because a nigga been backed up something serious and I know for a fact you ain’t been throwing that ass back. So why not just do it for old times’ sake.” He smiled.

Asia walked up to him and licked her lips. “So you’re telling me that professional bitch you’ve been spending time with ain’t putting it down right?” she asked in whisper as she grabbed his dick through his basketball shorts.

  “Honestly, no,” he said.

“Too bad. You picked her. Friends, Omari. Without the benefits,” Asia laughed as she walked out of the den.

Knowledge groaned as he fixed his hard-on. “Aye, A!” he called out to her.

  “What?” she asked.

“You know I love your crazy ass, right?”

Asia smiled. “It feels good to know.”

For the rest of the day, Asia and Knowledge chilled with the girls and Asia was nice enough to cook them dinner. Asia couldn’t deny the fact that it felt good to be back on good terms with Knowledge. Even though their relationship started off crazy, they actually had some good times together.

  Chapter Twenty Four

Since Sasha was back in Miami visiting, Asia invited her and Crystal, as well as the other ladies, over for a girls’ night in. So much had been going on in their lives that it was time for them to just sit down and have some girl talk.

  “Ugh,” Anika groaned.

“What’s wrong with you, big mama?” Asia asked.

“This little boy is wild. He won’t be still,” Anika said as she rubbed her stomach to get him to calm down.

“Well, he is definitely his father’s son. Symir was the same way,” Crystal laughed.

“I can’t wait until he comes. With Serenity, Sasha and Wysdom, I need a boy to spoil,” Asia said as she rubbed Anika’s stomach.

“Speaking of Serenity, that little girl loves you.” Patience smiled.

“She’s such a sweetheart. I can’t help but to love her,” Asia laughed.

“Yea, she told me how you came over and spent time with her sister and daddy,” Patience said with a raised eyebrow.

“Oh, so you just weren’t going to tell us about that, huh?” Anika asked as she threw some popcorn at her.

“What? It wasn’t nothing to tell. My mommy cussed me out and told me to talk to him, so that’s what I did.” Asia shrugged.

“I did not cuss you out!” Sasha laughed.

“You came close to it.” Asia playfully rolled her eyes.

“Can we get a little insight on what happened?” Cookie asked.

“I just told him we can be friends since we’re going to be in each other’s lives since we have a daughter together. I told him I respected whatever he had going on with that girl and I’m not going to interfere.” Asia smirked.

“I so know you better than that,” Anika said.

“I’m happy you do,” Asia laughed. “Ain’t no way in hell I’m falling back. My fall back game is weak as hell.”

“Oh Lord, what are you going to do?” Crystal asked.

“The same thing I did when he was with Chelsea,” Asia said.

“And what is that?” Sasha asked.

“Just be me.” Asia shrugged. “I mean, the ball is in his court now. I laid everything out on the table and let him know how I felt. He knows that I love him and even though I doubted it, with all of you ladies’ help, I know he loves me. Just because we love each other doesn’t mean we have to be together, but I’ll be damned if ol girl gets him. It’s just something about her that rubs me the wrong way anyways.”

“Have you ever thought that maybe it wasn’t meant for you two to be together?” Cookie asked.

“All the time, even now. But I can accept that fact. We’ll always be friends no matter what, and as long as he’s happy, I’ll be happy for him,” Asia said.

“So, Ma,” Anika said to Crystal, “how did you know that you and Syrus weren’t meant to be together and accept Sasha when she came into the picture?”

All the ladies got quiet and listened attentively. They loved hearing about experiences from people who had been through these types of things before.

  “Oooh, good question,” Asia said.

“Just put us on the spot, huh?” Crystal laughed. “No but seriously, me and Syrus were just teenagers when we dealt with each other. We were friends way before we even thought about taking our relationship to the next level. When I found out I was pregnant with Symir, we thought it would be a good idea to try the family thing out. It didn’t work for us and we were both okay with that and vowed to remain friends. Later on down the line, he met this lovely lady over here.” She smiled at Sasha.

“Don’t make me blush.” Sasha smiled.

“When he met Sasha, he ran over to my house talking about how he had just met the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with. He was so excited that I was excited for him. Well, he made good on his word because he did in fact spend the rest of his life with her.” Crystal smiled.

  “Awww,” the ladies cooed.

“I so love black love. Maybe one day I’ll know what it feels like,” Cookie said.

“Cookie, you have to stop being scary first,” Asia told her.

>   “I know,” Cookie sighed.

  “What happened to Cole?”

“He’s cool, but like Asia said, I’m way too scary,” Cookie admitted.

“Well, Patience, tell us about you and Mikey,” Anika snickered.

  “Huh?” Patience asked, feigning dumb.

“What?” Asia yelled. “You and Mickey? When? Where? How?”

Everyone laughed. “Oh baby, you are so late,” Anika laughed.

“I must be because this is news to me.”

“Honestly, there is nothing up between me and Mickey. He doesn’t want anything serious and I’m cool with that so we’re just chilling.” Patience shrugged as if it wasn’t a big deal.

“Lordy,” Asia sighed. “Back to you, Nika. Have you and Symir had that talk yet now that y’all are back on good terms?”

“Ummm, no, I can’t say that we have,” Anika admitted.

“When are you going to tell him, girl?” Asia questioned.

  “Wait, what talk?” Crystal asked.

Anika explained to the ladies her situation and what happened between her and Symir before they made up. She started from the beginning when she met Jay and led up to now.

“Girl, if you don’t talk to that boy,” Crystal squealed. “I swear, you damn kids are going to drive me crazy.”

“I know, but you know how your son is. Now I’m regretting that I didn’t tell him since we made up. I would have rather us be on bad terms when I told him,” Anika sighed.

She knew a conversation between her and Symir was long overdue. She didn’t know how or when she was going to break the news to him, but she knew she had to do it very soon before it became too late.

  Chapter Twenty Five

Asia was running around Knowledge’s house like she was a big ass kid. A little game of hide and seek between her and Serenity ended up turning into a game of tag between her, Asia and Knowledge while Wysdom laughed at all of them from her playpen.

“Moooove, Omari!” Asia yelled as she ran around the island in the kitchen.

“Nope,” he said as he ran behind her and chased her.

“Little bit, come get your daddy!” Asia yelled to Serenity.
