“Are you saying the power skips a generation onto the next?”

“Yes, inside you is the key to the Angano existence. And we,” he turned to include Braylon and Ryker into his sweep with a hand. “We will be there if you ever need us. The Angano may find out about you, about your ability to pass information on to your young, but you have a special army. Besides, I doubt anything could get past my uncle Cy. He loves you. He loves me too, and I’m happy he’s home where he belongs. I sense another formidable being lurking, but they’re too far away yet. They will be for a long time. But not forever. They may be worse than the Angano.”

Tempest shuddered. Zell smiled at her as though he didn’t care what was coming. With his powers, she wondered what would happen. The child was an enigma. A very powerful warrior in his right even at his young age.

“Come on, Zell,” Braylon yelled. “I want ice cream.”

Tempest heard Braylon immediately yell aloud he could have a bit without him being a glutton. His shield no doubt was reprimanding as it always did. Zell took off. The space ship vanished. The three boys held hands and they disappeared. Tempest wondered if she’d ever get used to that.

Cy appeared and pulled her into his arms. She rested her chin on his chest to look up at him.

“Titus and I have been discussing the Angano,” he informed her.

“Funny, so have Zell and me.”

  “Zell?”

“Has Titus told you how powerful that boy of his is?”

  “He raves about him.”

Tempest took his hand and led him inside. “Come inside, my warrior. Do I have a story to tell you.”

Cy gave her a cheeky grin. He placed his hand on her tummy. “Would it involve my little girl?”

Tempest chuckled. “Geez does everyone know? Apparently, we’re in for a surprise. We may yet have a daughter, but I think your son will make an appearance first.”

Cy gazed at her curiously. “A son? How do you know? Only Titus has had a son because of Zabbie’s special powers.”

“Come on. The boys will be busy for hours. It’s time you learned my interesting addition to the Zargonnii war. It seems my children will inherit the Angano mind control.”

Cy stopped dead in his tracks. “I just felt a shiver. The Angano can fly.”

Tempest was covered in goose bumps. “Holy hell.”

They stared into each other’s eyes. Both shook their heads. It was impossible. Wasn’t it? A flying Zargonnii human? Tempest gripped Cy’s hand tighter. Together they continued into their home.
