Romancing the Paranormal Page 117

She moaned, “Toryn, you down with that?”

“Of course,” Toryn murmured, moving his hands to the edge of the tub.

She climbed to her knees and gave Scotty an excellent view of her ass.

Toryn watched as Isa moved toward him. Her earlier worries had melted away, leaving her open to explore her fantasies. Isa was always willing to try anything with Toryn, but this was different. She not only welcomed Toryn’s suggestions, but Scotty’s as well.

For one brief second, he hoped she wouldn’t be disappointed this was a one-time deal. Later, he would consider sharing with other people, but he loved having his princess to himself. Still, this night was pretty fucking spectacular and he didn’t regret it for a second.

Water sluiced down Isa’s body as she sat up. She closed the distance to take his mouth in a heated kiss. Toryn’s fingers threaded into her hair as he held her there, taking her passion.

Scotty came up behind her, gripping her hips as he rocked, threading his hard length between her legs, against her sex.

A whimper escaped her lips. Her body tipped forward and Toryn caught her as her hands landed on his thighs. She tore her mouth away to bend, taking hold of his cock as her mouth wrapped around him.

Scotty thrust into her, pushing her forward. Toryn hit the back of her throat. He almost told Scotty to stop, but she practically purred and he relaxed, letting Isa take him to new heights.

Water splashed around Isa and Scotty’s thighs, the rhythmic slap of skin-on-skin filled the room. The sound aroused him further while Isa milked his cock. He locked gazes with Scotty who bit his lip as he rode Isa hard, driving her pace.

Toryn had to hold onto the tub as Scotty reached around Isa, his hand disappearing into the water, out of sight. The sexiest groan vibrated up Toryn’s shaft, pushing him over the edge. Isa didn’t let up as her throat worked, devouring every last drop. Scotty held her hips, pressing deep as his eyes slammed shut on a groan.

Before Isa could collapse, Toryn pulled her up to wrap Isa in his embrace.

She smiled up at him with pleasure-drunk eyes. “Might die if we do any more. Feels like every cell is humming with pleasure and can’t take much more.”

Below them, Scotty fell back against the opposite side of the tub. “I’m wiped out. I want to wrap my arms around Isa and sleep.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Toryn murmured.

  Chapter 10

Scotty woke as the first rays of dawn caressed over his body. Isa lay curled in his arms, Toryn wrapped around her. Freedom called to him. It had been centuries since he last woke without feeling the need to go in search of Saressa.

For the first time in as long as he could remember, hope for the future welcomed him. He caressed Isa’s face and placed a soft kiss to her lips, then gently squeezed Toryn’s shoulder.

The night was over, and he’d had his fill of the woman he’d desired but never expected to enjoy. He wasn’t a glutton and having Isa again wouldn’t sit well with him. He wanted to find the one who completed his soul as wholly as Isa and Toryn did for each other, though he knew the search would take time.

He slipped from the bed, and Isa turned to snuggle tighter in Toryn’s embrace. They fit together as one. Toryn, the man who never hoped for love, finally found it. If he could, Scotty could too.

He left the bedroom in search of his clothes. They were still damp, but he pulled them on anyway before leaving the cabin.

Never again would he be bound to the woman who tore his world apart and tried to recreate him into the same monster she’d become. No more self-loathing, downward spiral of despair. He had nowhere to go but up. He cranked the music as he drove back to Seattle.

Someday Saressa would realize their tie was broken. When that happened, he fully expected her to come for him. Isa had already taken away her pet dragon, and now Scotty. Eventually, Saressa would make a move against her own niece. He looked forward to standing beside Toryn and Isa to take Saressa down.

Luckily, that was a worry for another day.

  * * * *

Isa woke to Toryn’s mouth taking a tour down her body. She moaned low in her throat as she stretched. No aches or pains at all, no tenderness, her body was ready for more pleasure.

She looked over to where Scotty had slept the night before and sighed. “He left without a word.”

Toryn stopped his descent to look her in the eyes. “Don’t worry. He wants what we have, but not with you. Last night was the solution he’d never have asked for.”

“The fix no one realized was available,” she replied. “Come here, talk to me for now.”

He looked down at her body and pouted. “You don’t want me?”

“I always want you, Toryn. First, I want to make sure nothing’s changed between us.”

He moved beside her and delved into her soul, his palm covered her heart. “If it’s possible, I love you even more for doing what only you could do to help one of my closest friends.”

“I couldn’t let him suffer. Not when I realized I had a solution.”

Toryn smiled and leaned in to kiss her sweetly. “Exactly. I can almost guarantee he won’t be any different when we see him next, as long as we don’t act differently. I won’t, but can you say the same?”

She grinned. “I can’t guarantee I won’t look at him differently if a portion of last night plays through my head, but I won’t go trying to grope him or anything.”

Toryn laughed. “All should be fine. He needs to find his own woman. In the past, he avoided it because he wasn’t free. Not truly.”

“I’m looking forward to the show tonight.”

“Me too. Now, tell me you’re ready to make love.”

She pushed him to his back and straddled his lap. “I didn’t get to do this last night. I’d planned on it but you two...” she shook her head with a smirk. “If we weren’t all magic I’d be very sore this morning.”

“Can’t have that because there’s no such thing as too much.”

“Oh, I’m sure if my knight wasn’t so considerate, I’d be sore in all the best ways this morning, but thanks to your tender care, I’m ready for you. Mmm, I’m betting you do that on purpose.”

He gave her a sheepish shrug. “Guilty as charged.”

His hands caressed up her thighs, and one took a detour to grip his base. Isa slid down over him before twining her fingers in his.

She rode, her eyes locked on his and she felt their bond in every fiber of her being. Isa fell into him, into the connection, letting it consume every part of her.

Silver flames danced across his body as he sat up, tangling his hands in her hair to stare deep into her eyes. Her arms wound around his neck, her pace quickening. Blue sparks trailed along her skin. Their magic collided, then melded, much as they had since their bond formed.

His lips tenderly met hers. The kiss was full of their passion and unbreakable love. The pleasure built slowly and soon broke over them.

He pressed his forehead to hers, their gazes locked. “Last night was incredible, but this—when it’s you and me—is what I’ll always want over anything. No one can take away my love for you.”

“Same here. And I’ll take apart anyone who tries.”

Toryn laughed. “My fierce warrior princess. I want to take you somewhere today, before the gig.”

“Ooh, a surprise?” Her brows waggled. “Think I’ve proven, I’m up for anything.” And this time, she winked at him.

  Chapter 11

Toryn pulled up to Shenanigans and looked over. “I hate that you have to go in.”

“I know, I was looking forward to a day with you, but there’s always tomorrow. Lana wouldn’t call me in if it wasn’t dire.”

Usually, but he had a feeling something else was going on. There was one way to find out, and he would shortly after Isa was inside.

He climbed out of the car and walked over to open her door. “I’ll have to surprise you tonight.”

  She gave hi
m a heated kiss. “Tonight.” Isa walked into the bar and he slid back into his car. He pulled his phone out and frowned.

The text read, Meet me at the cabin. S

With a sigh, he drove back to the cabin, hoping he could return before Isa was off.

Less than an hour later, he pulled into the driveway and found both Lana and Scotty’s cars. It didn’t look like anyone was inside.

Toryn climbed out and walked around the building to find Lana and Scotty decorating the yard. Not with traditional human streamers or balloons, but helping the wildflowers grow, and giving it a romantic faerie vibe.

“What’s going on here?” he called.

Scotty walked over while Lana kept working. “I know you were planning to propose to Isa last night. Instead, you two had to come save my stupid ass, so I thought I’d help make tonight special.”

Toryn nodded, looking around as a slow smile spread on his face. “You didn’t have to do this.”

He slapped Toryn on the back. “You’ve never been big on romantic gestures, proving your love to Isa through action. That works, and well. She’s not a hearts and flower girl, that’s for damned sure. But you only get to propose once. Make it special.”

Toryn pulled Scotty into a hug. “This sort of thing is exactly why we couldn’t let you fade away. You’re the closest person to a brother I have.”

Scotty thumped him on the back. “Aye, agreed. Help me set up the fire pits.”

Toryn walked to Lana with a smirk. “You called Isa in to work?”

Humor danced through her eyes. “We needed your help. The small fib kept her busy long enough to prepare for tonight.”

“You call her in again tomorrow, and I won’t let it slide,” Toryn warned playfully.

Her eyes widened, but she laughed. “Good thing I don’t plan to. I did this for both of you—and maybe because I’m a tad jealous she lived one of my favorite fantasies.”

Scotty’s head whipped up. “Tell me you’re not talking about what happened last night with Toryn.”

She shrugged. “I’ll never say. Don’t worry though, neither of you have anything to fear from me. I’m glad to see you whole, Scotty. You were always gorgeous, but now you ooze power.”

Lana traipsed off to finish hanging the wildflower garland. Toryn hadn’t seen anything like that since the last time he was in Faerie.

His brow arched. “Where did she get that?”

Scotty grinned. “Had the wildflowers delivered. Lana and I improved them.”

Toryn took another look around. “Amazing, Scotty. Show me what to do.”

  Chapter 12

Scotty carried his guitar into the club. He found Eddie setting up the drums. They’d replaced their drummer who had plotted against Isa. Remus was dead and gone, lost to the abyss, no longer a threat to anyone.

Eddie was a shaman who hadn’t fully embraced his magical capability. Poor kid had been trying to work up the courage to propose to his girlfriend. The holdup wasn’t fear. He loved her, but he was in love with his roommate, who sat at the bar with Isa. His roommate was a siren who hadn’t been through the awakening.

Jackie and Eddie reminded him of Toryn and Isa in the beginning. Neither realizing that the other couldn’t survive without them. Sooner or later, something would give and they would figure it out. If he knew the kid better, he might say something.

A few seats down, a tall, blond bombshell watched his every move. His blood pumped faster, his cock stirring. Yup, he was finally free.

Toryn nudged his shoulder. “Hey, man. Looks like you found your night’s activity.”

Scotty glanced over and shrugged. “You have tonight covered? If you need me for anything, I’ll be there.”

“No, enjoy yourself. I need to do this on my own.”

“You’re nervous. Why in the bloody abyss would you ever be nervous? You know she’ll say yes.”

He sighed. “You got me thinking. What if she isn’t impressed? I was going to just ask her, and now I have all these crazy insecurities running through my head.”

Scotty looked over with a slight shake of his head. “Don’t be stupid. Relax. We gave you a beautiful setting, all you have to do is light the lanterns and fire pits. Simply tell her what’s in your heart.”

  “I tell her every day.”

  He half-grinned. “She’ll say yes.”

Toryn nodded with a sigh. Then he changed topics. “You ready for the after party?” Once again, Toryn tipped his head toward the woman still eye-fucking Scotty like she wanted to take a spin on his magic pole.

“More than ever. I’m looking forward to seeing if I still have my mojo.”

“If last night is any indication, I’d say yeah, you do.”

“For Isa? I’d hope so. That’s a one shot deal, and as much as I enjoyed every second, I don’t plan on a repeat.”

Toryn grinned. “I certainly don’t want to repeat it every night. Though one night down the road—way down the road—we may want to play again.”

Smiling, Scotty nodded to Isa. “Did she understand why I left this morning?”

“I think so. You may want to reaffirm that nothing’s different. First, introduce yourself to the woman, then mention you need to check on a friend.”

  Scotty chuckled. “Sure thing.”

He made his way across the club and stopped in front of the woman. “I’m Scotty. And you?”

Her eyes made it up to his and she bit down on a full scarlet lip. “Zoe.”

  “What are you doing tonight?”

Her fingers landed on his chest, and trailed down toward his belt. “Not sure. Hope it involves you.”

“Oh, I’ll give you a night to remember.”

  “Can’t wait.”

His hand curled around her waist. “I need to give a friend a piece of advice.” He glanced toward Toryn then leaned down to her ear. “He’s proposing to his woman, and I need to make sure she doesn’t resist leaving soon after we play.”

“Aw, you’re sweet. I bet you’re spicy too.”

“Oh, you’ll have a taste tonight.”

  “Hope it’s a feast.”

He licked the shell of her ear. “Definitely.”

Stepping back, he gave her a wink. “I’ll be with you as soon as I’m off stage.”

  “Don’t forget about me.”

Before he could change his mind, he walked to Isa and tapped her shoulder.

Her eyes sparkled as she made eye contact. “Jackie, I’ll be right back,” she told the other woman before standing and walking to the empty hallway. She turned back to him with a hesitant smile.

Scotty placed his hand on her shoulder. “Sorry I worried you this morning. I needed to start fresh.”

  She nodded without a word.

“Last night was amazing, I’ll never forget what you both did for me. You unlocked the cage keeping me from finding the one who fills my heart with love. For that I can never repay you.”

“Scotty, you’d do it for me too. I don’t need thanks.”

He grinned. “Toryn’s a lucky man.”

She laughed. “I’m pretty lucky, too.”

“Look, this morning, I woke and saw the way you two fit together. I never want to squeeze between that. After last night, I thought you two could use some time alone to reconnect.”

Isa wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. “Thank god. I thought maybe you were uncomfortable.”

He embraced her. “No, but I needed to get in touch with my new freedom. This was the first morning I didn’t wake up with memories of a twisted love that wasn’t even real.”

“Was my pleasure to set you free,” she answered in a sensual purr. She stepped back and looked at Zoe, who still watched him. “Maybe tonight you should introduce her to Toryn and me. So she knows you are interested in her, not anyone else.”

“I don’t plan to stay long, neither should you.”

  * * * *

Still pumped from the show, Toryn moved behind Isa to wrap his arms ar
ound her waist. She was taking shots of Jack with Eddie and Jackie. Their bass player, Lonny, had left as soon as they were off the stage. He had a mysterious hot date.

Poor Eddie. His girlfriend was out of the country visiting her parents. Toryn was willing to bet Kim hadn’t crossed his mind. He was all about Jackie. Jackie appeared shell-shocked at the moment, chewing her lip as she watched the crowd. He couldn’t help wondering what had happened.

Isa leaned back into Toryn. “Ah, the man I was waiting for.” She turned in his arms and laid a deep kiss on him.

He backed her against the counter with a groan. “Think we better go home before I forget we’re in public.”

Mischief twinkled through her eyes. “We need to wait for Scotty to introduce his—” her nose wrinkled.

Toryn laughed. “She does keep watching you since you hugged him.”

She shrugged. “So kiss me. It will reassure her we are perfectly happy with each other.”

He nipped her bottom lip before delving in, relishing her taste. From the corner of his eye, he saw Scotty approach with the woman. It wasn’t until Scotty patted Toryn on the back that he bothered to stop kissing Isa.

Scotty grinned. “Zoe, this is my oldest friend Toryn, and his girlfriend Isa.”

Zoe winked at Isa. “I have a feeling you’re in for a night to remember.”

Isa let out a laugh. “Thanks. Though I’m sure you are too.”

Zoe looked to Scotty. He nodded back at her.

Scotty didn’t look away from Zoe. He lifted a hand in a wave. “We’re taking off. Wanted to say goodbye first.” Then he led the blond out of the bar.

“Guess that means we can go,” Toryn purred.

Isa turned to Jackie and Eddie with a grin. “See you next time.”

They offered their goodbyes. Isa threaded her fingers through Toryn’s. They walked out of the building, toward his Maserati.

“Thank god we’re not far from home,” she murmured.

A twinge of doubt rocked through him, but he smiled over at her. “Remember that surprise I mentioned?”

  She nodded.
