  AUTHOR BIOGRAPHIES

Joe DeVito, an accomplished illustrator and sculptor, has combined his love for painting and storytelling in Kong: King of Skull Island. Twelve years in the making, and inspired by a lifelong fascination with dinosaurs and King Kong, this book is DeVito’s first as both author and illustrator.

As an artist, Joe has won numerous awards, and his paintings and sculptures are featured in several published and private collections and have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the U.S. and other countries. Joe’s illustration credits include cover paintings for books by authors such as Piers Anthony, Terry Bisson, Robert Bloch, Jonathan Carroll, Robert Heinlein, and Katherine Kurtz; memorable covers, posters, and trading cards of Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Doc Savage, and Wonder Woman; covers for MAD magazine; and posters and concept art for films, television, toys, and more. As a sculptor, Joe has created classic statues of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Tarzan, and Doc Savage, among many others and has served as sculptor and site designer for a twice life-size monument of the Madonna and Child.
