Off of the Beaten Path Page 4

“I think you’ve been sun bathing nude?” he suggested, when he saw no tan lines on her hips, thighs or rear.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” she said, in a dreamy voice.

“Yes, I would. You find some quiet beach down south?” he asked, as he prepared for the first strike of the belt.

She just hummed her reply with a provocative moan, as she waited anxiously to feel that first exciting sting. There was a swish and an snap, and the belt came down on her bottom with a good firm thwack!

“Oh, my god, yes,” she exclaimed happily.

Jess followed the first strike with another and another, each of the smacks was distinct and definite, and before long, there was the most lovely blush of pink rising on both of Ashley’s bottom cheeks. She squirmed delightfully for him, her ass end obviously wanting more. Jess was happy to accommodate her, bringing the belt back again and again, letting it fly with an ever more furious tempo across the lovely flesh.

“My god, that stings,” she moaned, though she didn’t seem at all inclined for him to stop.

Jess hadn’t seen anything so erotic since he’d left South America and Ashley’s perky behind. He could even see where the leather made distinct lines in her flesh, one atop the other; it was getting absolutely raw. But what a blush!

“I’m glad to see you finally realize your place,” he said just to taunt her.

He wasn’t sure she heard him however, the way she seemed so absorbed in the joys of being well strapped.

Ashley’s bottom was burning nastily. Even so, she didn’t change the quality of her moans and cries. The mounting intensity only fired her passions all the more.

When Jess suddenly took a wicked turn with a few very sharp whacks, she jerked. “Oh no!” she mouthed her first real protest, but she still wasn’t seriously complaining.

Yet, as he continued with the fiercest blows, he could see that the pain was becoming acute. Not wanting to get too carried away, he backed off for a few final smacks, and then descended with a sexually aroused fury. Grasping her red bottom with his hands, he squeezed her really hard.

“Oh, goddam, Jess,” she let out a joyous cry. He fondled her rudely until he had his pants undone and his hard cock planted in her moist hot puss. She moved back on him eagerly, as he thrust inside her, and the two rocked together until they were both at the delightful edge of pain and pleasure, both ready to climax.

Jess finished off quickly, this surprise attack the most exciting sexual thing that had happened since he’d returned to California. Ashley, on the other hand, let her orgasm mount and increase in intensity until, unable to contain it any longer, she finally burst, pouring forth with a lovely raucous release.

Panting and exhausted when it was over, Ashley remained collapsed against Jess’s desk. This had to be the most scandalously brazen thing she’d ever done. And she loved it. She especially loved shocking Jess, and she was sure, despite his ready willingness, that he was totally stupefied by the unexpected visit.

When he carefully pulled her back to her feet, he turned her around.

“You’re making sure I’m not going to be the bored scientist,” he said, as a hand came up to caress her face. She looked so soft just after sex, all the nasty fires were gone, just for that instant; and he could witness some peace on her beautiful face.

“Exactly,” she replied back. They kissed again, and then pulled away. “So, what have you got going tonight? I’ll take you out to dinner,” she offered.

“Oh god, Ash, I’d love to, you know that, but …”

  “But what?” she looked annoyed.

“I have a cocktail party at six, and this banquet thing I can’t miss, I’m one of the featured panelists.”

“Oh, it sounds dreadful,” she agreed with the pained looked on her face. “Well after then. I could even watch you do your scientist thing?”

He grimaced. “Ash, if you’d told me you were coming,” he started apologetically. “I have a date.”

She looked surprised. “A date?” she repeated, as if the thought of another women in Jess Barrow’s life was totally absurd. “Is she someone special?”

“I wouldn’t have screwed you if she had been.”

Ashley was only slightly relieved. She never considered the possibility that Jess could ever have anyone but her, even though they had no understanding, not even the beginnings of a real relationship.

“So we can be together tomorrow?” he suggested.

She shook her head. “No, I have to leave bright and early; in fact, I might just start out tonight and spend the evening in Santa Rosa. My interview is at ten tomorrow.”

  “Then when you’re done?”

“I can’t,” she answered, her expression pained. “I have to be back in Caracas in three days. This is a very tight schedule.”

“I see,” Jess nodded, almost wishing that she’d never come. Whetting his appetites was grossly unfair to both of them. “I can’t believe you’re just dashing in here, we fuck, then you fly out. Don’t you think you’re stretching my goodwill a little?”

“I always count on your goodwill, Jess. The truth is I do miss you.”

“Then why the hell can’t you just decide to stay in California?” He was noticeably irritated. “All it takes is making a simple decision. Do something for love for a change, for your soul, for us. What would it hurt?”

She looked hurt. “You’re not being fair. You were the one that suddenly ran off on me in South America. You think making the decision to leave is all that easy? That’s been my life!”

“Yeah, and what kind of life is it?” he asked.

“A damn good one, thank you very much! I have friends, I have a great job, and … .”

“And what? You’re a thirty year old woman who’s never going to have a relationship with your “on the run” lifestyle.”

“You make it sound like I’m nearly over the hill.”

“No, but you’re going to find yourself forty, or fifty maybe, really getting lonely in that South American jungle, with absolutely no prospects for love. “Over the hill” will be a very appropriate term.”

Ashley fumed. “You are still a judgmental controlling ass? You know that?” Her eyes were burning with a brilliant gleam, he remembered well.

“I didn’t say I’d ever change. Why don’t you just take the job?” he suggested, trying to calm his frayed nerves. It never did any good to argue with Ashley, she always made up her mind, and there was very little anyone would do to change it, especially him. Their “relationship” if that’s what it could be called, had always threatened her, though he wasn’t quite sure why.

Ashley was finally pulling her shorts back over her bottom. “I don’t know, Jess. You just be glad I’m even considering the job.”

“I suppose that’s something to be thankful for,” he agreed.

“So, how’s California?” she asked, sounding less piqued.

“It’s beautiful, just look at that day out there,” he said referring to the blue November sky, and the fresh warm air that was wafting in through the window.

“You suppose someone heard us?” she asked, looking around the small cramped office.

“Do you really care?” he asked.

“No,” she smiled. She was deep in thought. Her mind was ablaze with monstrous thoughts of uprooting her life to be with this man. It was certainly cause for alarm and great consideration. She didn’t want to do anything too rash, and certainly nothing foolish.

“How about, I take you to coffee?” he said.

“When’s your affair tonight?” she asked.

He looked at his watch. It was already four o’clock. “I should get home and get ready in about an hour.”

  “What’s she like?” Ashley asked.

“Nice, very nice,” he said, thinking of his date for the evening. “But she’s not you.”

She smiled. “Well, if it’s all the same, Jess. I’d better go.”

“You sure?” he asked again, he cou
ldn’t imagine her just leaving right then, but it seemed there was no other choice. “Damn, I love surprises. But I wish you’d called. I could have made arrangements to go to Santa Rosa with you, but there’s…”

She put her fingers gently to his mouth, “Hush,” she whispered. She kissed him. “We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?”

“I suppose. Just remember what I said,” he reminded her.

“You know me, I have to think things through carefully. Now, I’ve really got to go.”

He could see there were tears in her eyes. She wouldn’t admit the sadness, so he didn’t bother admitting his own. She couldn’t wait to leave his office. There was something welling up in her that he wanted to help her with; but the time constraints were paralyzing, as he stood watching her lovely form, and her mussed and bobbing ponytail, until she was out the door.

  Chapter Four

  Two months later …

Jess was making his way through a crowded Caracas street to the flight office, looking for Ashley Bloom. It had taken some time, but he’d finally tracked her down. She was suppose to be in Caracas to make arrangements for a flight into the interior later that week. He was pissed to find her taking this trip in the first place, though he had no hold over her, and no way to protest her plans. He’d hardly heard anything from her since her quick visit to California. Just a few postcards with cryptic remarks on the back, about “still deciding.”

In the meantime, Jess had talked with his friend, Greg, in Santa Rosa, and found out that he was about to hire another pilot for the job opening. Greg had to get things started in the spring, and he couldn’t wait any longer for Ashley Bloom to make up her mind.

This trip to South America was perfectly timed, Jess thought. He could consult with the researchers in South America, and see Ashley at the same time—hopefully persuading her to come back to California.

“Ashley Bloom in?” Jess asked, at a desk in the flight office.

  “Due in an hour.”

  Jess nodded at the official.

“You can wait in the cafe across the street,” the man suggested. His stuffy office was hardly big enough to hold him, let alone a fidgety American.

“Be sure to let her know I’m here. Jess Barrow, you got that?” he asked.

“Yes sir, Mr. Barrow. I’ll send her right over.”

Jess waited in the cafe for more than an hour, and was ready to go back to the airline office, when he suddenly spotted Ashley waving at him.

“Hey, now you surprise me!” she called out, delighted to see him.

“Just needed to prove my point,” he said, as he watched her sit down at the other side of the table.

  “What’s that?” she asked.

  “That I’m not completely boring.”

She laughed with a mellow warmth that he loved. He missed her. That was a cold hard fact. He couldn’t really think of other women, for thinking of her, though he knew that there were a half dozen of others he might have back home that would be a lot less trouble.

“Is that all?” She sounded impressed.

“Well, I really came to tell you that Greg is about to give the California job to someone else.”

“You mean, if I don’t take it?”

  “Of course.”

She looked a little piqued. “You know I think you’re being kind of pushy about this,” she said trying not to be too annoyed.

“Pushy?” he repeated. “I haven’t bugged you for a moment. I’m just here to suggest that you seriously consider this. It means a lot to me.”

“Well maybe it doesn’t mean as much to me,” she said with an arrogant twist. “I don’t need any man, least of all you, trying to run my life. I have some very good reasons to stay here that are more important than taking off for California right now. If he can’t wait for me, then I’ll just have to find another job. I think maybe in a year I’ll be ready, but there’s some stuff I’m doing here I rather like.”

  “A year?”

“What’s wrong with that? Let me see, if I remember our last conversation, you were worried that I’d be some fifty-year-old spinster with no prospects for marriage if I didn’t leave Venezuela right away. The way I see it, I’ll be thirty-one next year. I still should have time to nab that knight in shining armor,” she said sarcastically.

“There’s no reason to get surly,” Jess replied.

“Well there’s no reason for you to butt in where you’re not appreciated.”

“I suppose I’m just appreciated for a good screw, every six months as long as you’re in the States.”

“You make me sound horrible,” she said.

“You are, as far as I’m concerned.”

“Well you should have saved yourself the time and trouble coming down here. I certainly didn’t ask you to come.”

“Don’t worry, the trip won’t be wasted. I have things to do here for a couple of days, some business with the new man at the research station.”

She looked a little despondent. “Oh, so you didn’t come here just for me?” she asked.

“I suppose you’d happy if I did. But of course you only want to bitch at me for caring about you.” He had a good mind to haul her off and paddle her that instant, but they were in a public place and the situation was impossible.

“I’m not doing anything of the sort. I’m glad you’re here,” she protested.

“Well can we at least have dinner tonight?” he asked.

She softened just a little. “Of course. I’m sorry I snapped. I’m just a little stressed. You picked a really bad time to come.”

“I guess both our timing could improve,” he said, remembering the all too brief encounter they’d had in his Berkeley office.

A few hours later both Jess and Ashley were feeling more amiable. Ashley was looking terrific in a blue dress with a tight fitting bodice that showed off her breasts so nicely, it was hard for Jess to keep his eyes off of them.

“Getting horny, are we?” Ashley asked, as she noticed his attentive gaze. They were sitting across from each other in one of Caracas best restaurants. But rather than thinking of her plate of food, she was thinking of Jess in some rather erotic ways of her own.

“I never said I didn’t admire your body,” Jess said.

“And I’ve never taken offense at that,” she replied.

“Oh, so I’m not sexually harassing you?” he asked.

“No. I could make a good case for it,” she joked. “But I can’t lie about how you make me feel.”

“Yeah, I just wish you didn’t keep avoiding it,” Jess teased her.

“Stop now, or we’re going to get angry with each other again,” Ashley warned.

“I don’t want to get angry,” he said.

  “Neither do I.”

The two strolled for a while about town before going to Jess’s hotel. The longer they delayed the inevitable trip between the sheets, the more the sexual tension mounted. And yet, what sparked this sexual interlude was not purely lust.

“I have to fly out early in the morning, I guess we’ll have to keep this kind of short,” Ashley said as they entered the hotel elevator.

“Where are you flying to?” Jess asked.

“I won’t tell,” she said. She knew he’d be pissed.

  “Up river, right?”

“I’m not saying,” she continued to remain closed-lipped.

They were in the elevator by themselves, when Jess temporarily jammed the lift, and pulled Ashley over his arm, spanking her butt several times very playfully.

“You going to tell me now?” he asked.

  “No, I’m not!” she confirmed.

He spanked her again, very firmly, though it was still through her dress and it probably didn’t hurt much. “You’d better tell me, or I’ll raise this skirt and really give it to you.”

“Maybe that wouldn’t bother me,” she taunted him.

“All right, that’s what you’ll get!” he charged. He was feeling the whole adventure taking
a significant turn, the playfulness becoming something much more real, as he acknowledged his real concern for her welfare. It was no different than it had been before, and he knew he had little right to punish her for this reason, but he wasn’t going to be rational about it. He’d rather just spank her butt!

He quickly lifted her skirt, and found just a sheer pair of nylon panties, between him and her naked bottom. Deciding just to keep them there, he peppered her ass with a fast flurry of strokes, until he could see the red through the nylon.

“Jess, stop this! The elevator’s going to start, and someone’s going to find us.”

“So much the better,” he said, perfectly content to keep spanking her, even though his own hand was beginning to sting. He could only imagine how Ashley’s bottom was beginning to burn.

She struggled a little. But enjoying the sensations, she decided not to create World War III, since this was certainly a perfect prelude to sex. Besides, she’d do whatever she damn well pleased the next morning.

The elevator finally jerked, starting again; and when they reached Jess’s floor, the two quickly make themselves presentable as the wide door pulled apart. They were glad they’d made the effort when they saw two bemused hotel guests on the other side of the door, seeing their state of disarray, and no doubt wondering what this pair had been doing.

In Jess’s room, he was ready for more.

Going to bathroom, he promptly emerged with his hairbrush in hand.

“I think it’s time to do this right,” he announced, as he waved the thing in front of Ashley’s face.

“Oh, no you don’t!” she cried seeing the brush.

“Ah, yes,” his eyes gleamed nastily. “I know you, you only want it when you can have control, but you’re not going to be in control this time.” He had to make a dive for her as she was trying to move away from him, but he was faster, anticipating her moves. In seconds, he had her in tow, over his lap, and flailing like the dickens while he brought the hairbrush down on her bottom. “Oh, I like this,” he charged, as he was finally getting the dress up and out of the way, even as the brush came down. “Punishing you before the fact!” he exclaimed.
