  Annie Oakley, the best-known female sharpshooter, provided inspiration for the heroine, Vanora. Annie’s accuracy was astonishing. During one nine-hour long demonstration, she shot 4,772 out of 5,000 glass balls using a shotgun. She was also known for shooting over her shoulder with the aid of a mirror and hitting a dime held between the thumb and forefinger of her husband, Frank. That’s trust.

  Wanting to keep my characters in Morgan’s Crossing made my selection of a hero easy. Trent appeared in book 5 and managed a ranch in the area. I was happy to dig deeper and share more about his character
