He laughed and rolled away to stand, pulling her up with him. Hand in hand they walked toward their cabin. “Okay, we won’t tell them. Instead, we’ll show them in God’s own time.”
He stopped at the back door, and lifted Connie’s hand to his lips. “Our Father alone knows what the future holds. I thank Him for giving me my own special angel to share my life.” He dropped a kiss on her upturned lips. “I love you, Connie Norris.”
“And I love you, Brett. With all my heart.”
Before she stepped into the house, Connie let her gaze linger on the green rolling hills of the farm that would soon be theirs. Hers and Brett’s. After searching to be a ‘have’ for so long, all she had to do was let her heavenly Father bring her home. For the first time in her life she understood the meaning of the word.
